This is a clear upgrade from any traditional HD or SSHD. After installing this drive my PC will boot to the Windows 10 login screen in less than 25 seconds and applications launch almost instantaneously. The only downside is the price, however for the performance it offers I'd say it's worth it.

Careful with AMD-powered laptops
I would give this SSD 5 stars as once it's installed it works flawlessly, but there needs to be a heads-up that there is a possibility that the SSD will not play nicely with AMD-powered laptops. Brought new life to 2012 Mac Mini

2TB 860 EVO M.2
This is clearly the best 2TB SATA M.2 drive as of April 2018. I'm using it in a 13.3" laptop (Kaby Lake R) as bulk storage for RAW files, hence the need for 2TB. Note that the TurboWrite (SLC) buffer sizes of the 860 EVO vary by capacity and the 2TB has the largest at 78GB. However, even after that region the 2TB writes at over 500 MB/sec.

AWESOMENESS
The 1TB 860 EVO was an upgrade from a 500GB 850 evo pro. The pro drives are like 2% faster and double the cost, so it was a no brainer. Also the 1TB drive was on sale for $30 less plus a free copy of Far Cry 5. Love it.

Super Charged

Simple, best upgrade ever, It was all I expected and more.

Fast SSD
Chose this brand for their superiority in controllers and longevity. In the past, Samsung EVO and Pro SSD's had unconditional 5 and 10 year warranties. Now they have set TB's written limitations within the warranty time period. Makes you wonder. Overall, fast and best priced for value in the EVO line.

C-drive replacement
Hoping to replace the heart of my 3year-old desktop computer and extend its life, I bought this SSD and crossed my fingers. While the migration process ought to be more clearly explained, once done and installed, I'm pleased and satisfied beyond expectation. The only mistake I feel I made is in not buying the 4TB version of this magnificent product...yet.

The best move I've made with my 8 year old desktop
Fast doesn't cover it! Two and a half years ago I upgraded the motherboard, processor and hard drives in order to speed up my desktop, and it made a difference, but nothing compared to this SSD. I'd gotten to the point where booting was a good 5 minute process as was shutting down. Mentally I was prepared to buy a new desktop, but after reading reviews, I decided to get this SSD before shelling out a couple grand. I haven't timed it, but I'm willing to bet boot up as well as shutdown are in the sub 1 minute range. Additionally, anything to do with C: is very fast! I'm a happy camper!

Kids Play...!
This turned out to be kids play. I am far from being a PC Tech so i cant comment on speeds or alike. only a great storage upgrade on my Sony Vaio. I did cheekily use Crucial website to determine what SSD was installed. Purchased the 860 EVO from B&H along with the Transcend CM80 M.2 Sata enclosure and followed the Samsungs Magician migration software. 45 minutes all done..! Running like a dream. Thank you B&H.

Speed up your computer!
Easy to install with Samsung software on their website. Clone your existing drive. Same thing you had on your old drive only lightning fast. Total boot in 15 seconds, retrieves files and starts software almost instantaneously. The cheapest way to make your older computer run fast. The best thing to happen to computers.

Copious space with even faster boot and access speeds
I honestly had some difficulties cloning my system from the prior Samsung 840 EVO 1TB to this 2TB 860 EVO, but I succeeded after a few tries by making sure the clone had the three partitions (system, C: and recovery), which is something I never had to do before. Nevertheless this SSD is definitely the fastest I've used as my root drive and also allows me to keep more of my photos in temp storage on the root drive after a photo shoot. Thanks Samsung for everything except the price: could be lowered a bit more to ease the pain!

Growing Photo Database
I purchased two of these to replace my two year old Samsung 2TB 860 drives in Asus laptops. Plenty of room for growth (I'm the guy who never believed I'd fill up a 1 GB drive back in the '90's!) Using these drives with Samsung Magician, they are extremely fast, moving large RAW picture files around and building thumbnails for a Photoshop cache. Easy installation in the laptops. I installed the 2TB drives in external enclosures with USB-C interfaces and then copied them to the new 4TB drives very, very quickly.
