Samsung EVO SSDs
This is the second Samsung EVO SSD that I've purchased. These drives are outstanding. 1 installed in a windows pc and 1 installed in an iMac. Both machines saw significant improvement in boot times, application access, and ability to sustain dozens of webpage tabs without system degradation. Neither machine had any issues accepting the drive. Excellent value for the performance!

Works well on 2012 MACBOOKPRO
I used to to 40MB/sec on my original hard drive now I get 480-500MB/sec reading and writing.

It works - as with all the Samsung drives I've had
This drive is the third Samsung SSD I've bought in addition to the multitude of OEMs that have come with my PCs. It worked as soon as I plugged it in. A quick partition creation from Windows Computer Management and away we went using it as our data drive. I had an 850 Pro as an OS drive on another machine so have been able to see the speeds both as data and as OS. They have been great for both and get to the speeds they claim with a system capable as such. We are a graphics company and rely heavily on these drives every day. We haven't been disappointed.

You Need This
So very easy to install and set up. Samsung migration makes transfer from you current hard drive a simple task. Worked immediately and I have had zero issues with it. A super wise investment!

Samsung 250GB 860 EVO SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD from B & H
This is the second unit I have installed. The first impressed me so much over the past year that I decided to use another unit on a second PC. Its performs so much faster than the original HDD and seems to have been 100% over time. Even though I live in Aotearoa/New Zealand half a world away from NY their service and shipping time has once again proved very competitive and worthwhile.

Windows 10 now even faster
The drive is fast. Now for data cloning lessons learned. First, download the Samsung Data Migration software. It's the only cloning software that I finally got to work. Also temporarily turn off antivirus software while cloning. Expect the process to take many hours. In the end, you will be rewarded with faster PC performance, and a very reliable solid state drive.

Great SSD
Installed as boot drive in OWC PCIe card on upgraded 4.1 to 5.1 Mac Pro, enabled trim, works great. Mac is really snappy now!

Works great, easy transition
I am not a computer nerd. I just bought this drive, used the Samsung software to clone the old HDD onto this drive and then installed this as my boot drive. Smooth flawless process and wow did it speed up my system. Love it. One of the single star reviews made comment that Samsung Magician was the only program to copy the existing drive and it doesn't recognize the drive. I made the same mistake and Samsung "help" guided me to Samsung Data Migration software which is the proper software and made the transition seamless.

Faster than a Speeding Bullet
I have a fully loaded Mac Mini (mid 2012) meaning it maxed out all options when I bought it. It came with a 1 TB Fusion drive. I got tired of waiting for Apple to come out with either a new Mac Mini or a new Mac Pro, so I decided to replace the Fusion drive with a 2 TB solid state drive. Works Perfect

Easy to install, super fast.
The EVO series is infamous for being great for a reason, they are great. I get advertised speeds, well built solid construction (no cheap plastic feeling, real metal), and the software it comes with is decent.

Hardware worked, software didn't
The SSD worked. But the cloning software that Samsung offered didn't work for me. I had to download some other 3rd party cloning software which worked fine.

Samsung 860 ssd sata3 500gb no issue to migration data from hdd to Samsung ssd. no more worry about defragment the hdd and it takes long time to boot up from hdd. Check speed ssd as it is advertised.

Nice drive. Tricky installation
I installed this in my desktop using the Samsung cloning software downloaded from the Samsung website. I reviewed the software ahead of purchase and was pleased to see that you can "Exclude" certain folders from the cloning. Then, as I executed the app, I was warned that "Excluded" folders would be deleted! That is not what I consider "Excluded," and was a disappointment. Top Quality
An excellent price on a top shelf product. Research indicates that this is basically the best SATA SSD out there right now. Sure, you can fork out some extra cash for the "Pro" version, but performance is virtually identical, and the only valid reason to do such a thing would be if you intend to subject the drive to prolonged intensive use. In other words, you don't need it. This is the drive for you, at least until they come out with the 870 model.

Samsung 860 Solid State Hard Drive
Installation is easy. First thing I noticed when using a SS drive is the computer booted up much faster. I'm using a Dell 7010 desktop. I'm also experiencing less heat with the SS drive which is a plus. I would recommend solid state over the conventional hard drives. Worth the difference in price.

Easy install
Installation was pretty easy. You will have to go to the Samsung website to download the program to migrate from your old disk to this new one. Also, remember that you will have to go into Windows and have it format the SSD and then mount it before the computer will recognize that there is a new disk attached to the computer.

Improvement over the 850 EVO? Not really
Once installed the drive performs both as advertised and as expected...nothing remarkable...just consistent, reliable performance. The sole negative is the lack of step-by-step instructions to install and swap data/clone the drive.

Excellent drive
I have been replacing older hard drives in Mac computers with these Samsung Solid State Drives - basically any Mac 2010 or newer with an original HD. Speeds the computers up faster than when they were brand new. This was for a 2013 iMac, nearly 3 times as fast. Easy way to bring new life to an older computer.

Not getting SSD to work yet in my notebook
I purchased a 500GB Samsung and a separate SATA-USB interface, and when I plugged it into my Lenovo Yoga 2, the notebook recognizes the SATA wire but does not show an attached drive, so there is nothing to boot to get things cloning. This may be owing to the particular hardware configuration I have, so I will try this on an older laptop later this summer. The minimal instructions that come with the Samsung drive are not very illuminating, leading one to believe that the thing will boot itself up.

FAST SSD!!
bought this and installed it on my aging asus n550JV.... the way my asus got more responsive... its like i bought a new model laptop!! highly recommended upgrade !!
