Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens (Black)

Here's why I didn't give it a full 5 stars
First of this camera is wonderful, the quality is great, the coloring on photos and videos is amazing and its nice and light. My main and at this point only problem with this camera is the stabilization when zoomed all the way out on a 45-150 lens, now to be fair i've just gotten it so I'm still adjusting to how light weight it is compared to my Nikon D5300. A tripod or even monopod should remedy that no problem. I absolute love this camera and when I'm able to i'll invest in the Panasonic G85.

Fine Camera, lens cap falls off and camera pouch too small.
The camera is meeting my expectations of sharp focusing and shorter learning curve than similar cameras. Lens cap will fall off if not carefully snapped on. I've already had to buy a new one. Pouch camera bag provided in kit is too small for the camera and lens. B&H should provide bigger bag. Please consider providing a lens cap holder (e.g. Sensei) with Accessory Kit.

Great Beginner Camera With Potential For Pro Results
SUCH a good camera! Very happy with it. 4K is amazing, 60fps at 1080p is amazing as well. Takes much better pictures than I though it would. Very easy to use. I do wish it had a headphone and mic jack but that's okay. 14 - 140 lens is another great piece. The stabilization is awesome. The photos are crisp in daylight, I would use the Panasonic 25mm f 1.7 for low light. It gets a little less crisp full zoomed but still great. The camera is great o... Show More

A solid camera,worth every nickel
I am an avid amateur photographer. I take thousands of photos a year. I gave up a Nikon DSLR to buy this camera. It's light, easy to handle, has very intuitive controls, and has an extensive customization menu that's easy to navigate. The G7 is plastic, but feels solid in your hand. The dials are rugged feeling and the touch screen is responsive to the touch. I've only done some preliminary experimentation with the camera so far , but the results have been excellent. I'll probably never really use all of its features, but will have fun trying.

A Great Starter Video Camera
I've been a Nikon shooter for a while now, and have been shooting stills professionally for about a year now, but I wanted to dabble in some video, more for fun, and noticed the Lumix Dmc-G7 on sale for an insane price, so I decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad I bought it! No, it's not amazing, so it shouldn't be compared to the a7s, but the video quality is pretty great, however, 60fps in 4k would've been nice, but again, for the price, ... Show More

great for anyone
Great little camera for anyone, the price is really good for what you get, the only thing preventing me from giving this camera 5 stars is the fact that 14mm on a micro four thirds sensor in 4k is not really that wide, so keep in mind that you might need another lens if you want to create landscape photography or vlog, speaking of which, if you are buying this for YouTube, you won't be disappointed by the quality of this little thing for what you are paying.

Amazing so far
I love this camera. I bought it for a trip to Germany and after taking some online photography classes, I'm able to get a lot more out of it. The video quality is unreal.

great camera to get into photography/videography
I got this camera 2 months ago as a first ILC camera and first micro four thirds. I have been very impressed with the image results even with just the kit lens. Since then I got the 25mm 1.7 on sale and almost never take it off my camera. I am planning on getting a few more lenses now because I just love how nice video and photos look on this thing. Very fun hobby but I can see it is going to be very expensive. watch out for sales! you can grab t... Show More

Great little camera!
Great little camera! I was initially shocked by how light it was but after some practical use I realized that it is perfect for daily use. It never feels like a burden to carry around but the image quality that this little camera produces is amazing! I was also pleased to get it at a good deal and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to film high quality videos on a budget or just in general. 5/5!

Great Camera for Stills & Video...at an even better price!
After quite a bit of research, I purchased this as a backup video camera for my son's recent trip to Uganda. He ended up using this as his main camera and is so thrilled with the results he achieved that he plans on selling his Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera so he can have two G7's for video use. Don't let the price fool you...this is a fantastic camera! It also takes great still photos! (This camera does both functions VERY well!) In fact, he ... Show More

Glad I have this as 2nd Camera
I purchased this as a back up or additional camera along with my GH4. So I've only had for a week but I am happy with this. Anybody wanting something similar to the GH4 it would a good close... A few less features but uses the same lenses that I use on GH4 so when videoing whit two cameras I am happy. Shoots 4K if you have the right card in it.

Best budget 4K camera around!
I use camera's completely for video and the G7 is easily the best 4K option for someone on a budget. Great sensor, great low light, and micro four thirds just makes adapting any other lens super easy.

I recommend, best choice up to $1000
I'm using Canon SLR for a while and I was looking for a lighter option that could deliver 4k video, after a long research I've decided to start spending less and this incredible camera is what I found. Very good video quality and lightweight. For photos is not that good but get the job done. Love it as a secondary all around camera.

Fantastic video camera and takes great photos as well!
The best camera is one that you have with you and although I have a Galaxy S8+ which takes great video and photos, sometimes I need a little more professional lens with better depth of field. The micro four thirds size is lightweight and portable, and the camera takes great 4k video at 30 fps, all at an affordable prosumer price.

14-140mm Lens with a fun body attached
I carry a GM1 as my main travel camera. More of my favorite shots are taken with that camera than my larger kit because I usually have it with me. After a recent canoe trip, I was wanting for a small zoom to fit on the GM1 and the 14-140mm fit the bill. An extra $200-300 for the G7 body was a no brainer as at the time of this writing, the 14-140mm doesn't come in a kit with any other body. During the first couple of weeks of ownership, I've been ... a Dynamo
I wanted a backup camera and when this went on sale for under 500 dollars I picked one up...plus the 30mm and 42.5 mm lenses . This may not have the dynamic range of some higher end cameras but the still images are still really nice...if you shoot sports or action of any kind the auto focus is very quick...this is great to shoot skateboarders especially using the 4K photo...if you have this with the kit lens and are not happy I am guessing you got a bad copy of the kit lens because mine is insanely sharp

Excelent camera!!
It's a one of a kind piece of machine. I use yo take video on a Canon 6D, and the G7 has made my work easier. It's way lighter and 4K is just a delight. Crisp images all the way? Fast focus and swivel screen makes hard to shoot angles very easy. I give this camera 5 stars.

Light Weight, Full Featured, But Complex
A lot about this camera depends upon your route here. If you are considering a point and shoot and are looking at this as a step up, then you are probably better served by getting the point and shoot. Getting this camera and keeping it on auto-everything is major overkill. On the other hand, if you have a a full frame Nikon kit and want something to grab and go for trips with the family, then this is it. If you come to this from Nikon or Canon DS... Show More

A great upgrade from the Canon T3i
This camera has been an incredible step up from my old T3i. I wanted a camera that shoots in 4K, as I am starting to shoot more commercial/professional work and like the versatility of that format. This has fit the bill perfectly as an entry level 4K camera. Pros: Shoots 4K Auto Focus works extremely well for stationary shots with little movement. Now I have even some spare room in my bag and I can carry it for long hours without getting tired of it. I have also purchased the 20mm 1.7 lens and totally recommend it as well. Best Budget 4K Shooter!
This is (and will be for some time) my favorite recommendation for budget 4K video. Cheap (much less than I paid for my T3i kit back in the day) but very solid investment. But it has some finicky bits about it. 4K image quality is great at 100mbps. I use the Lexar UHS-1 cards and they maintain speed fine with no buffer issues. Lens mount stays secure but easy to remove and add lenses. Camera strap rings flap around and make obnoxious sounds - not... Show More

Excellent Camera!
I love this camera! I've always always wanted to get into photography, but it was kind of an expensive hobby, so I kept putting it off. I finally decided to go for it, and I'm so glad that I went with this camera! It's really wonderful for beginners, in my opinion. The manual is quite technical if you're unfamiliar with photography/videography terminology, so I've just been playing around with it and looking things up as I go. I've taken some really love video and photos, and it's small and light enough to fit in my purse as I walk around! The video quality is especially great!
