Versatility Incarnate
A great Lens when you're only bringing one. Perfect for the walk around town, Parties, sporting events. When you don't have the time to switch lenses, or know where the action will be taking place, the versatility of this lens will always let you catch the action. It may lose some resolution at the edges, but a really good photo is better than missing the moment trying to dig out the perfect lens, or being out of range. The 5-Axis Stabilization in the a7rii let me use this in night shots with little lighting . Wide field of View

Not bad for an all-arounder
It's a little soft and hit-miss in focusing. But all things considered, it's an amazing piece of glass. With a 10x zoom range, it's a terrific solution if you want a lens you never need to take off the camera when traveling, etc. Definitely a keeper.

I use the lens for landscape photography, I love the range and the quality of the pictures. It is my go to lens because of its wide range.

Sony 24-240mm lens
Had this for about 3 weeks and used it very much exclusively for a 1 week trip through Zion, Arches, Canyonland, Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. Excellent one lens choice that cover wide angle landscape and telephoto for wildlife. I used to bring many camera and lenses (include a Canon 500mm F4) for similar trip and for this one just this 24-240mm and a 10-18mm on a A7 & A7R. The 24-240mm covers most shots with the 10-18mm cover only extreme ... Show More

Excellent all-around lens
I bought this lens because I wanted a bit more zoom than the kit lens. I was expecting the quality to be like that of the kit lens but it is way better. Super sharp and works perfectly as my go to lens for events and other things.

Zoom Range is Awsome
I am using it on the A7RII. Hard to beat the convenience of a 24-240 zoom, but as a father of 4 you never know what you will need. It is a bit heavy(780g) but a little lighter than Nikon's(800g) full frame super zoom and half the weight of Canons(1660g) so I can't complain. Happy with color and sharpness of photos. Can be a little soft at 240mm. I intend to also get the Batis 85mm f1.8 when it is in stock for when I want the ultimate in quality and control over depth of field.

Very nice walkaround lens
Since owning the Sony A7R, then A7RII, I have always wanted a good zoom lens to walk around, the 24-70mm is still short and since the 24-240mm came out I was immediatedly interested in this lens. I was impressed with its sharpness and IQ. Lens focus quickly, locking into subject well. Only when in not so good contrast, lens hunts a bit but it doesn't take long to get into focus. Lens offers excellent color. The weight is a bit heavy but for that ... Show More

Love it !
Super lens with lots of range. Used with my a6000 and couldn't be happier. Chasing my 2 year old son around it gives me the flexibility of close up and those distance shots without stopping to change my lens

Phenomenal quality walk around lens
This quickly became my go-to lens for everyday shooting when I don't want to fiddle with my prime lenses. The f3.5 option keeps issues with lighting at bay.Buying from B&H is a no brainer. Excellent customer service, fast shipping, inventory of the best products. Win-win!

Strong Performer for the Mindful
Intro.............. I have used several super-zooms in my day. The Tamron 28-300mm PZD for Nikon, both versions of the Olympus 14-150mm, and the Lumix 14-140mm to name a few. As I mainly shoot with primes, my entire zoom lens collection usually consists of a super zoom, and a wide angle zoom. Although the super zoom tends to be my least used lens, I find them extremely useful, and insist on owning one. Here are my impressions of the lens so far. ... Show More

E 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS LensExcellent make and feel. Super
Advanced amateur photographer. The ONLY thing I might criticize is the WEIGHT! It is VERY heavy, and obviates the benefit of the lightness of the mirrorless camera body.

built well
well built. wish the focusing ring is more smooth. its a good lens that cover day to day shooting. it felt heavier than the sony 7r mark 2 camera.

Nice travel zoom
The center is extremely sharp with all my tests. Towards the corners it drops off a bit as read in many tests. However this is to be expected for a long range zoom lens - I consider this to be the usual tradeoff. So you might want to have some shorter zooms / primes as well for the picture perfect. Again - I consider this to be an allround travelling lens and with higher res cameras like the a7RII the sharpness degradation in the corners seems no... Show More

Excellent Lens.
For landscapes I use the Sony Zeiss 16-35mm. For everything else I use this lens. I find it to be a great all around lens. It is a little on the heavy side but it easily replaces 3 or certainly 2 lenses. I find it to be a very, very sharp lens across all the focal lengths. Check out a couple of the images I took with this lens.

Love this lens
I've used his lens on the Sony a7, a7r and now a7rii. Very crisp and clear lens. Love having the the zoom available when I need it.

Ok, not great, especially for the $
Bought to use with the new sony a7r ii as a walk around lens. Enjoyed it until I put the meatiness adapter on with a few of my prime canon lenses and they blew the fe 24-240mm out of the water.. I decided to go with a cinema lens to take advantage of the cameras sensor. Not a bad lens, just not great.

Great Zoom lens
I wanted a light weight camera body and one lens so I would not have to change it for wide angle or telephoto. I have very happy with it now but I haven't tested it at all the apertures and zoom distances. The only negative is that is on the heavy side.

Great all around lens
If you can only use one lens for travel or landscape photography, this would be it. Very flexible. A little heavy not to have a tripod mount. Only a problem in stiff winds. F stop does not give flexibility for lower ISO in lower light.

Really good lens and great customer service from B&H
I purchased this lens along with the Sony Alpha A7S camera body from B&H. My thinking was to get an all-purpose lens that would both save on cost and keep from having to change lenses for every situation. I am not an expert but this lens is very good. As someone has commented, no lens can replace a box of top-rated primes. However, this lens more than excels any three prime lenses that cover the same focal length range and cost anywhere close to ... Show More

Better than expected.
This lens is sharper than I was led to believe by earlier reviews. I'm very pleased with the real world image quality and versatility of this lens. I had to choose between this and the 70-200mm but I didn't want to carry two or more lenses on my European trip later this year. So far I'm very happy with my choice.

Great lens for travel and low light locations
I took this new lens with me on a recent vacation to Italy and it performed really well with my Sony A7II. The images were great, including many taken in very low light situations - helped along with the combined lens and camera stability features and the camera's high ISO performance.

Its Complicated....
Over all I am quite satisfied with this lense. It does for me what I had hoped it would which is to offer me a super wide range of focal lengths without having to change lenses. To be able to go from a wide 24mm to a super tight 240mm on a whim is liberating and facilitates taking pictures as opposed to messing around with gear. The lense feels solidly well constructed and appears to have been manufactured to precise standards. I am also happy wi... Show More

With the A7s it rocks
Never in my life would I use one camera with one f6.3 lens at a wedding till this lens paired with the Sony A7s came along. Low light at ISO 5100 @ f6.3 is great. Also being able to zoom to 240mm allows great candid shot across the room and very shallow depth of field at f6.3 and 240mm. I used this lens and camera for the entire wedding and portrait shots. Also with the image stabilization I got some great handheld video.

Not happy!
I have had this lens for 3 months and never happy with it! It can focus fast but the sharpness and color saturation just not there, much worse than in photos taken with Alpha 7 ($) or the 100M2 point and shoot ($). I have to use tripod and cable to get a good shot, forget about hand held! Just my experience with this lens (use with A7M2 body).
