The elimination of headphone jacks on iPhones presented serious music listeners with some choices. The first is to use Bluetooth. Not an audiophile format, but convenient. However, Apple in its all knowing wisdom did not buy into the Qualcom aptX Bluetooth protocol, thereby reducing Bluetooth to a lower standard. Everything it promises and more!
When looking for a portable DAC / Headphone amplifier I thought it might be hard to find. How you enjoy music will NEVER be the same again.
This has to be, one of the best purchases Ive made in my 31 years of being earthbound. Just one minute into your favorite song and you will not believe you waited so long to invest, or if youre like I was, I could not believe these devices aernt talked about more often. FiiO Q1-II DAC and Headphone Amp
Very compact, great shape and control layout, excellent hi-fi sound - a bargain at the price. One caveat: When used with devices that have USB-C ports, including the newer Apple iPads, this amp will draw power from those devices. iPhones and iPods with Lightning ports have no power issues.

Lovin it!
I'm no audiophile, and this my first headphone amp/dac, but this thing rocks. Partnered with a quality set of IEM's, and a HD music source; new worlds of audio unfold.
