Great product not so great instructions....
Taking a star off of this one for the disjointed directions. There are multiple configurations depending on your motherboard and processor and the directions start with the common stuff then goes into all of the item specific installation directions. There is not a smooth transition and it seems backwards so you will probably find yourself scratching your head and looking up online forums to ensure proper installation. Quiet And Cool
I purchased an AMD FX-8350 CPU a couple months ago with no intention of upgrading from the stock cooler, however I quickly discovered that the noise of the stock cooler was virtually intolerable when the system was under load (in my case when I was trying to record gameplay). I've been using the Hyper 212 EVO for several days now, and I am very happy with my purchase. My idle temp went from 38c to 32c and hasn't gone above 50c even when recording... Show More

i7-AsusMB-HAF932case-not overclocked. Something would fire up in the background and I would get a temp. spike. (sigh) With the 212, my temps are in the 70's (*F). Used to jump up to 120. I fire up as many apps as I can and can't get it over 95. Its about 2 1/2 inches taller than a cooling fan. We'll see what happens when I start editing video. You can install a second fan with the included hardware too. (I didn't). I have my fan running at 1800 R... Show More

Update to Happy Camper
Sooo... I have a big case (HAF 932) but I am in a very dusty area. I taped a 12 x 12 heater filter on the side intake fan, all the other fans blow out. I used the Asus Fan Expert software to make my fans run at 100% as soon as the CPU gets to 77*F My room at the time was 86*F. I fired up Prime95 which slams all 8 cores of the CPU to 100% load HUH-LO! The temperature only rose to 113*F (45C), easily within the normal operating range. So now, do I ... Show More

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler
This is a great Cooler! Keeps my i5 6600k at around 30-45 degrees while gaming. It is fairly quiet. Not noticeable at all when wearing a headset or headphones. This is a pain in the butt to install, but what can you expect from an aftermarket Cooler. For the 1151 socket, you have to move the screws on the bracket to the middle slot which involves twisting them while applying firm pressure to try and get them to the next slot. Overall, great Cooler for the price, and yes I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone that is looking for a great aftermarket CPU Cooler.

Look no further this is the one that works!!!
I have an AMD FX 8350 on an ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2 board and had significant overheat issues trying to backup my DVD Collection. Even running the copy process at low speed I had to keep an eye on it or it would try to creep over 60C. Dropped this cooler onto the CPU and I can now run the copy process wide open with cores running 95% + and I have yet to go over 36C. Check your case dimensions this thing is big it just fits my tower. I can now backup my DVD's at a speed rate over double what I was running nothing short of awesome cooling performance!!

ok for newbie PC builder
First time I ever try to build as PC from parts. This fan worked and fit flawlessly in the motherboard (msi m5) though it is huge. I only had a little bit of hard time figuring out the orientation of the fan holder relative to itself, but this might just have been my lack of experience. If you know what you are doing, you should be good with this fan. My CPU( Intel 6700) is a little bit to hot. Hitting adorned around 50 when bring used 100%. I don't think that is a problem with the fan, but rather with my lack of fans in the computer case.

happy with purchase
Im able to overclock my i5-4670k processor from 3.4GHz to 4.4Ghz easily, idle temps never rise above 45 degrees and at full load temps stay at around 80. Results may vary depending on your particular chip, voltage and thermal paste. Its quite tall so be sure that your case has enough space, it also helps to buy another fan to push air through, the one that comes with it pulls air through the heat sink. Overall great value for money and I can see why it is so popular.

Good for the price
It seems to be a good fan. It keeps my CPU (Intel I7-6700k) reasonably cool, reaching at most 49C on 100% use. Being the first time I assembled my PC on my own, I had a little bit of difficulty figuring out how to place the fan on top of the CPU so that it would align well with the CPU and the motherboard attachment holes. Once I got that sorted out, the rest was easy. I don't think the cooler noise is loud, but I must admit it is neither noiseless.

Functionally 5 Star - Installation 2 Star - Fan 3 Star
I got this for a new system I just built. It works like a charm. It's great. The installation instructions are a disaster. The worst I've seen. If the fan was slightly thinner it would be perfect. It just barely clears the memory modules. You need to assemble this and install it and your memory modules before you install the motherboard into the case. I would never install a liquid cooling system.

Quiet, effective, and a good price
Replaced the cooler that came with my fx-8320. Works better and much quieter. Installed a second 120mm fan as well, but I'm sure it works fine with the one that it came with. Directions aren't that great, would have been easier if I was installing this on a new computer and starting from scratch, as you need to install a bracket on the backside of the motherboard for this cooler. Would buy again.

Great performance!
Just installed with new PC into 1150 socket. Requires some patience but not too bad of an install given the size. I suggest looking at some YouTube videos prior to installation to get an idea of what to do. You may also have an easier time if you remove your motherboard from the case. So far it has kept my temps in the mid 30s to mid 40s during casual use. Have not really stressed my system yet.

Tricky but does the job
I can guarantee you that you'll be making a blood sacrifice to the PC gods with this cooler. It's a bit tricky to place, I would suggest connecting any connectors before installing the CPU cooler which may make connecting the connectors difficult if not done first, else you'll be making a blood sacrifice to the PC gods because this cooler is pretty sharp.

Great cooler. Easy to install.
Using on my overclocked xeon E5450 and this keeps the temps perfectly in range. It does a lot better to use a higher flowing fan instead of the one that comes with it. Using this with newer intel i5/i7 will be cool enough to use the included fan. Relatively easy to install, it took very little effort and you don't need 3 or 4 hands to do it.

The product looks very impressive until when I tried to mount to the motherboard and put into the case then the whole thing did not work. To make it works I have cut a hole to my computer case so I decided to buy simple Intel fan and forget about the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. My rating is 1 star.

worst instructions
There's not a single sentence explaining what you're looking at, just a series of diagrams with bolts that don't look anything like what's in the box. Had to resort to third part youtube tutorials to get the thing in. Once it's on it works fine, but I'll never buy one of these again.

Silent and breeze to install
This thing is quite big. Be sure your case is at least eight inches wide. Very easy to install, took me 10 minutes. That is if your case has opening at the back of CPU so you don't have to take out the mobo. Extremely quiet even under heavy load like video rendering. Great price!

Big cooling
A great cooling fan, very quiet and powerful. I recommend measuring your case before purchase, for me the heat sink is so tall it touches the case door. This does not short the CPU but it may cause noise or other problems depending on the case you are using.

Good fan, confusing installation instructions
This is a standard tower CPU cooler and so far it works great. The instruction manual's diagrams are not very clear, so installation was a bit of a pain. The fan is nice and quiet, and keeps my CPU running coolly even when gaming at 4K resolutions.

Hard to Install
Does not fit tight, tried multiple time times to get to lock in detent. It is large and take up a heck of a lot of space in the case. Resorted to using a different set-up. Have not figured out yet what I an going to do with this product?

Great price for performance
Runs my amd cpu 30c cooler than the stock cooler under 100% load, and it is much quieter. Just make sure it fits your case. It just barely cleared the side panel in my case, and the panel had to be forced on to fit in a friends case.

This was part of a computer built. The computer worked and I don't see a difference as compared to the AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor computer alongside it. Both run high end chart graphics (trading) and high graphics games.

heatsync is great, but out of the box the CPU fan is broken
The cooler is fine, but out of the box the included fan doesn't work. Since it doesn't work, I'm using my case fan as a CPU fan. I contacted Cooler Master technical support, but its been a week and they still haven't replied.

This cooler is cooler
As everybody else said, this is a sweet cooler for this price. I use it to cool Ryzen 7 x1700 and it does a very good job. I did switch the fan to a quieter one but it's a personal preference, nothing wrong with a stock one.
