To be honest I was expecting a little better quality of the picture for the price. The screen could be great as it's mobility is extraordinary especialy with additional 7-10 tablet stand providinig more angles with less place taken. Good working, slim & light external screen
Let's be clear: this is not a tablet: it doesn't have a processor, battery or touch-screen. I purchased this unit twice. The LCD monitor failed after 6 month and I needed a portable monitor during the process it would take to send back a review the product. Both LCD monitors lasted fine for about 6-8 months, and then they both lost visual in the LCD monitor. Both monitors were under warranty. Very Pleased
I needed a second monitor to use with my laptop away from the office. This monitor is exactly what I was looking for. The screen is a good size and the resolution is adequate. I use computers in my litigation practice, taking depositions and presenting evidence in the courtroom with computers. Excellent display, lack luster stand
The screen itself is excellent - I do not use it for graphics work, only programming, and word processing. From a text standpoint, it's easy on the eyes and valuable real estate. Great viewing angles. Very lightweight and an excellent addition when onsight working with clients. That stand requires folding the case in two locations and wedging the screen in. Slim, lightweight, yet powerful!
I ordered one of these over a year ago but ordered the USB-C (3.1) version and there was nothing I could do to make it work, so after 13 months I bought the correct model. It performs flawlessly! I've used it with both my personal laptop (Sony Vaio) and my work laptop (Lenova W540)--both of which run Windows (10 and 7, respectively). Your laptop may not have enough power
The display works, but not with any of my laptops. Well, at least powered by their USB 3 ports. It did work when I plugged in a AC powered USB 3 hub (with a good size power supply). The computers I tried it with were a Lenovo Helix and a Surface Book. The Book not having enough power was surprising. Also, if you're running Windows 10, you need to download Windows 10 drivers. BH helped me select a monitor that claimed it was compatible with a Mac Book Air. After following instructions and installing the driver monitor powered up but was not recognized by laptop. The ASUS tech support was little help apple as it appeared they were simply reading off of a troubleshooting list rather than possing a working knowledge when it came to at least apple computers. Fairly Disappointing
I tried to use this monitor with a chromebook (which integrates the DisplayLink drivers) and a KangarooPC (Win10 w/ drivers installed) to no avail. The monitor wouldn't budge out of standby-mode which strongly detracts from its utility. My use case was to use it for development with Eclipse and IntelliJ so I didn't require high refresh rates but 0 HZ refresh caused me to return the monitor. Will not work with Microsoft Surface Book
Bought this specifically to add more workspace off of my Surface Book i7, but it wont work. I've read that the SB may not supply enough power via the USB3.0 ports. Though i have tried many cables/adapters/hubs: Y usb3 cables, Y usb micro cables, and usb3 powered hubs too. Good price and very portable
I attached two of these monitors to amy mini mac. They work reasonably well despite two minor inconveniences I have not be able to sort out yet: i. a kind of flickering here and there; ii. it is not possible to maximize a screen without loosing the other one in the second monitor; however, you could still click and drag the corners of the relevant window for a kinda manual maximization. Currently no support for Mac
I do love the physical size and weight of this monitor. Resolution and brightness I am not in love with as it currently does not have brightness control for Mac. Asus support team is working on it with me but so far I've spent a fair amount of time with no solution yet. Monitor is perfect, Case used as a Stand, not good
The monitor, full HD is wonderful, light and easy to connect when I am on the road. The case is nice and protective, but trying to get the case to stay in place and keeping the monitor at an angle to be able to read it easily is very difficult to maneuver. I left it up overnight and when I got up, the monitor had somehow slipped out and fallen on the floor. No damage thank goodness. I am sure in time, the portion of the case that has to be folded to put pressure on the monitor to keep it in place will crack and wear out. ASUS needs to find a better solution for a stand.

Good overall but needs improvements
It does what it's supposed to do. I've tested it with both Mac Catalina and Windows 10. Need to download the DisplayLink driver for Mac. Here are a list of things I wish it had/did 1. The display quality is mediocre. This is indeed IPS but it's on the very low end of IPS displays. It's better than the majority of TN panels, but brightness and color accuracy is below average. Doesn't matter too much if you're using it for productivity. 2. No display scaling. I'd like 125% display scaling on a 15.6 1080P monitor, but I don't have this option.

almost perfect
Everything does work as advertised, just a couple caveats. I'm using this as my only monitor, on a somewhat portable Mac mini. You have to be able to install the driver before you see this monitor. No biggie - expected somewhat. The other thing is that is aggravating is that every once in a while the screen will just blank for a few seconds. I don't know if the system is locked up or not, but it usually comes back with the mouse pointer in a different place because you were doing something while it was blanked.

Best money spent!
As an accountant, I often work with multiple spreadsheets and programs simultaneously. But working from my laptop is limiting. This product has been fantastic in managing my workflow and making me more efficient. Having this monitor in tandem with my laptop has made a world of difference to me. Coming from a corporate environment, I used dual monitors often. This product works great and is a great value. As an accountant, I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't worth it. This product is definitely worth it!

Great product!
Works as well as I hoped it would. I have it hooked up to my MacBook Air and it works very well as an extra screen. As others have said, the screen is a bit dim, and I would have preferred another type of standing arrangement other than using the carrying case so I could have more tilt variations, but overall a great product for travelling. It is super light, and running via the USB only is magic, especially for travelling.

USB3 speed but limited options.
USB 3 speed is nice, but the ASUS software to allow for brightness controls throws a runtiime error - the up/down brightness buttons don't work. Also, all the power has to come from the USB3 port, there is no other external power option. This means you have to provide a powered USB hub to work with a tablet like a MS Surface. Also, the case/stand is flimsy. I had to buy a separate tablet stand to provide stability.

Good travel companion monitor
The carrying case protects well and can be used for a support as shown in picture. The angle is too vertical for my eyes and i use my iPhone plastic holder. The brightness control does not give me sufficient range for my eyes. The monitor connected to windows 10 immediately when [lugged in. It seems to work better in my charging USB 3 port and just shutdown when I plugged into a USB extender on the other port.

does not work with professional video using Mac
Monitor will not play back at full frame rate uncompressed video in any video player. If you are using Adobe Premiere CC this monitor will be useless to you. You cannot preview footage from Adobe on this monitor, let alone use it as your main monitor for editing. I don't think USB 3 is ready for secondary monitor at this time as their is not enough VRAM to run uncompressed footage through the USB port.

Very easy setup on PC laptop.
On my Microsoft Surface laptop this USB monitor powered up, and was usable in about 20 seconds the first time I plugged it in. I had no need to even load a driver, update drivers or do any thing extra. Having a second, light-weight and portable external monitor that only needs a USB port for power and communication triples my potential work productivity using only a notebook computer. I am delighted.

One Fatal Flaw
I have used USB monitors in the past and have never been happy with the lag that comes with monitors of that type. I thought since the MB169B+ was a USB 3.0 monitor that this problem would be solved. I noticed a sizeable lag even with the USB 3.0. I love the monitor in every other way. It is very light and portable, looks great, etc. I just can't get past the lag.
