I really like it.
I'm coming from a Canon 5D mark 2. It was and sill is a really great camera. It's also easily capable of great image quality. The Sony has many worthy upgrades. With the Sigma MC-11, I have been able to use all my Canon L glass and even Sigma lenses without any problems. I'll hold on to most of my Canon lenses. They work fine on the Sony A7 iii for me. Excellent Camera with one gripe
This is an excellent camera in many ways. My only gripe is where video recording button is placed. I am using metabone with Canon and Sigma lenses so far with absolute no issues. I do want to try with Sony lenses at some point. The price is right. The IQ is the better than Fujifilm XH1 and Olympus EM1 Mark 11. I have not shot much video as yet so I cannot comment on it. Worth it once youre over the learning curve
Took me weeks of watching a hundred youtube tutorials addressing extremely specific issues, but im at the point where the positives outweigh the negatives. A few things to point out- rude of them not to include a battery charger- only lucky I have one from the a7rIII but it would be nice to, you know, have one for each. Extremely Happy & Satisfied
Ive had this camera for over a week now and its been a joy to use. I upgraded from my Sony a6300 with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8, and its incredible how well this performs. Ive had to cover a couple of my university clubs events and Ive taken over 3000 photos just this past week. Best Upgrade without breaking the bank
I bought the a7III, mostly because I could not afford the Canon 1d markii. I love Canon cameras, but there was no in between upgrade from my 70D. So, I did my research and found this Sony. Best Cinema Camra for video work
I have to admit, the Sony A73 is super sharp in 4K cinema/video. I use three Sony A73s and one Canon C200 for wedding ceremonies. The only down fall to the A73s is that it does overheat after 45 minutes of continuous 4K 30p recording in the DIRECT sunlight with 80 degrees outside weather. Love this camera
I upgraded from the Sony A6000 about 6 months ago. I love this camera. I have the FE 100-400 with the teleconverter, the kit lenses that came with it , Sony Vario-Tessar 16-35mm wide angle, the FE 70-300mm and the Sigma Macro Lens. As good as they claim
Best camera I have purchased for stills and video. Solid build. Feels more expensive than the MSRP. Two examples with the kit lens. Nice bokeh on the lock/fence shot. 4K video looks tack sharp. My only complaint is the price for telephoto lenses. I will get the Zeiss 55mm prime but I might cheap out and get an APSC lens for my telephoto uses which are not many. A great value camera (as good as $2k), the A7III will be able to suit all your needs with minimal compromise. The auto-focusing system is lightning quick and very accurate. Low light performance is great as well, I'm very comfortable using images shot at ISO 6400 and even 12800 can be manageable. Kit lens is garbage
Switched from Canon 6D, and am blown away. Time lapse, focus peaking, eye AF, and tons of customization are just a few game changers this camera provides. That said, skip the kit lens; it's junk. Many review it favorably, but if your used to good glass you will be sorely disappointed. Save that $200 and put it towards something that does this camera justice. I am at the airport looking through videos and photos I took with this camera over the past 12 days in Peru. I am just blown away. The autofocus, low light, battery life, usability of this camera are incredible. 1 battery would last me two days on average. The camera is rugged. Huge step forward
Ive been using the original A7 as my main camera (mostly for video.) Best hybrid camera - well at least for 2018
I had the GH4 in 2014 for the 4K but the AF and low-light bothered me so I got the a6300 in 2015; loved that so I got the a6500 and waited for the GH5 which was disappointing so I waited for the a7III. I won't repeat what has already been said about the great image quality and low light capability. I only want to mention some flaws that may be critical to some people and that other reviews didn't mention. First, the Eye-AF. It doesn't really work well with fast lenses and shallow DOF. I absolutely loveeee this camera, I love it so much. BUTTTT I hate this Kit lense. It does not do the camera justice. It will work, but it's like driving a Ferrari on Eco mode... Seriously, You'll give a camera a one star review because it doesn't have an external battery charger? Big deal, buy one. I go out with two charged batteries and after shooting for many hours haven't touched the second one yet. When I get home I charge the one I used. I haven't had an interchangeable lens camera in over ten years. About five years ago I started using Sony cameras and love them both. I just love this camera! but...
I took me a little while to figure out the functions and how access them, but once you get yo know your camera better you just have a great time playing with it. The only issue I found was with the synchronization between the Godox speed light I bought and the Sigma MC-11 adapter for canon to sony.
