Great lightweight expression pedal
I own a couple Ernie Ball VP Jr volume pedals, and while these pedals are superior to the Roland EV-5 in terms of build quality and feel, they're heavy. I'm putting together a small pedalboard for bus and train travel and so weight is my primary concern. I picked up the FV50H for use with guitar as well as this EV-5 expression pedal. So far they're working out great. I do however wish that Roland would install a TRS jack on the pedal instead of using an attached cable. I used one of these EV-5 pedals back in the 90's and it eventually stopped working due to the cable going bad.

Very responsive
I just received my EV-5 Expression Pedal,& so far I really like it! It's light weight, so easy to gig with. The knob for controlling the amount of sweep,works well.I use it with a Space Echo and a Polyphase to contol oscillation.It seems to work well with the Space Echo.The only thing negative thing about the pedal is that it is made out of plastic. For the price I think it should be made with a sturdier material.Otherwise, it is the best Expression Pedal I've tried.

Roland EV- 5
Overall the Roland Expression Pedal EV - 5 works well with my Roland V- Combo. The minimum volume adjustment is very simple to operate. Setting Maximum volume can take a few tries to perfect to one's personal preferences however, overall an inexpensive decent pedal. I use my pedal only as a volume control. B & H were very easy to order this pedal from and had efficient delivery service.

Better than expected
Historically I've always used Yamaha FC7 volume pedals, but I wanted to try something with a smaller footprint. I've read many reviews stating the superiority of the FC7, and while I do agree it is smoother and more sturdy, the EV5 has turned out to be much better than expected. For me, the lighter weight and smaller footprint was worth the switch.

using with guitar
I use this pedal as an expression/volume pedal with my tc electronic nova system. I chose this particular pedal because it plugs straight into the nova system making it simple to use. It is also a great value compared to the alternatives. The pedal opens up a whole world of possibilities on my nova system. I'm having great fun with it.

Well made volume pedal
The Roland EV-5 works well as a volume controller with my Nord Electro 2 organ patches. Very easy to use and quite responsive. Sensitivity can be callibrated to your personal tastes. Seems to be sturdy enough -- I'll have to see how it holds up over time. Good value for the money.

Works just fine.
I am using this pedal on an Alesis QS6.1 keyboard with no problems. The build quality seems ok, but for the money for a single use pedal I thought it might have been built a little bit more robust. (all plastic) The Alesis version is also a volume pedal and is made of metal.

Horrible Dead Zone
The usable range of the pedal is about HALF what it should be, IE going from heal down zero position the pedal outputs 0 till at least half way THEN starts going up. Really bad. Looking for a way to fix it, but why should I have to tear apart a 70$ item to get it to work.

Great pedal overall
At this price, I was expecting a better build quality but this is plastic. It works great and I did not notice dead zone like in other reviews. I'm using it with my MIDI keyboard and I can use it for many reasons with my Home Studio.
