The Plantronics headset from my old Cisco 7900 series VoIP phone plugged right into my new Avaya 9600 series phone but it didn't work. Turns out that the QD portion of the cable is wired slightly differently so I had to get this QD cable. It works perfectly now. It's a good OEM quality cable that one would expect from Plantronics.
