Lightweight, powerful, travel ready
I was looking for a light camera that would allow me to replace my Nikon DSLR to travel with less equipment, but without losing manual controls or the ability to solve most of the photographic situations that appeared. The LUMIX FZ300 complies with all that and also is capable of shooting in 4K quality and allows me to go much further with its 600 mm. I'm happy with it.

Just got it! 2 thumbs up!
Just received it, quick delivery (except for UPS too busy at the holidays delay!). It's loaded, and I will start out slow with just the basics. I like how it feels, and all the features it offers - excited about the touch screen! I'll write a more comprehensive review once I've been using it a while. Fingers crossed, with high expectations.

Very happy with my choice.
Just had the FZ300 for a couple of weeks so haven't tried all the features. I've had previous DMCs so that might help but it has been easy to use, easy to find the settings I need. Love the adjustable viewing screen. And the touch screen. Very happy with the easy adjustments I can make as I compose the shot - and the final photo.

Just what I was waiting for
In my amateur opinion it's the best bridge camera out there if you do a lot of hand held shooting, especially in low light, due to the fast lense. I had been trying to pick between an FZ200 and a weather resistant bridge camera ( I'm always outdoors with it) but now that the 300 claims weather resistance, it's a no brainier.

So far, so good!
I just received the camera for Christmas so really have pretty minimal experience with it. Nevertheless, what I've used, I've liked. I've only tried shots using the fully automated setting and they turned out well. I'm not knowledgeable enough in the field of photography to provide any truly useful differentiating comments.

Great camera
Lots of features, takes great photos. Nice touch screen which is protected when closed, it feels sturdy. The camera fell out the golf cart twice, hitting the pavement without a scratch. The 25-600mm optical zoom is great. The video works well and can zoom while shooting. I recommend this camera for general use.

A Bridge to Everywhere
This is really a great camera, but it does have a learning curve. I am familiar with the Panasonic bridge cameras having had the FZ 200 several years ago. I just don't remember it being this advanced. However, it is always fun and exciting learning new things and experimenting with the loads of features.

FZ300 senor is too small .
The FZ300 has a huge amount of features but is crippled by the 12.1 MP 1/2.3 MOS Sensor. Images at ISO 400 and above have too much noise and lack sharpness. On the positive side the FZ300 has very nice video and zoom. For the money I would get the FZ1000 or Sony RX10(owned) that has a larger sensor.

It's not you. It's me.
I don't know why I hate this camera... but I hate this camera. The 600mm gets amazingly close and a monopod will keep it steady enough. The images are sharp. The screen is bright. For the price it has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. I just can't love it. I hate picking it up.

Great zoom: up to 600m/m at F:2.8 . Raw format. Very good improvement for the location of the butons, and dial function. Improvement in the background sharpness of blurriness possibilities. Very clear view finder. Better manual focusing. Excellent Stabilizer. I haven't done any movie yet.

My third Lumix camera
I am so very pleased with this camera. The pictures are incredible and it is easy to use although I have yet to explore all of the options. I am also interested in seeing how it holds up to outside use. My second P & S Lumix acquired dust under the lenses was unclean able.

Still image sharpness is disappointing.
While this camera has a very good zoom, many great video functions that produce a very good final products, the still images are disappointing. Virtually every one I choose to use needs post-processing for sharpening. The still images are not as sharp as my old FZ-200.

Great Long Zoom Point and Shoot for travel
I bought this camera for travel, as my SLR gear is getting to be too much for those times. I am still learning about its capabilities, and am looking forward to great photos via its Leica lens. This came highly recommended by a friend. Time will tell.

Great performance & value
I'm really happy with my FZ300. The zoom, image-stabilization, low-light performance & MP4 capabilities are terrific features. To me, it hits a sweet-spot of higher-performance than basic point&shoot cameras without the (much) greater cost of a DSLR.

value and versatility
Purchased this camera because of previous satisfaction with Lumix pocket cameras. This one is terrific with its 25-600 zoom and sharp Leica lens. Ive used it many different situations and am pleased with the results . What a value for the price!

Just what I was looking for
I bought the Lumix FZ80 but found that it did not focus well as you zoomed out toward the end of its range. The FZ300 does a better job and includes a manual focus dial on the side of the lens. The FZ300 is faster with a better back LCD screen.

My new camera
So far so good. Takes getting used to, a bit different from my last camera. The shots I did at a concert turned out great! I still have lots to learn about the camera and the DVD that came with it is useless for me as I have no way to view it.

Very nice camera
I had a FZ200 and wanted to upgrade to a faster focus and other things. This camera meets my requirements. There is a lot more to learn with all the upgrades but it will be worth it. Take time to learn the camera and it will work just fine.

moved from FZ200 to FZ300
Takes great pictures . Much better handling and with some good advanced features including dust and splash proof. Ia can shoot upto 1450mm with izoom but much more complicated than the fz200, not helped by the instruction. A keeper.

Excellent travel & hiking companion
Light weight, large viewfinder, improved reaction time and focus speed and seemingly improved lense. Worthy upgrade to DMC-FZ200. Consider this camera as a birders delight. You will get pictures you never thought possible.

Camera can not transfer images to pc
Wonderful camera, but so far i can not make it to transfer images to PC by USB cable, or Wi-FI. The software is archaic and not even include FZ300. I'm try to get help from everywhere,so far no success. Janusz Waksmanski,

Make sure you fill out the PDF file to extend the warranty
Have had the camera for 2 years and the movie feature doesn't work. I was told that since I didn't fill out the pdf file there is nothing they can do. My bad. It does take good pic's. Just check the movie when you get it.

Great Camera
I love this camera. It comes with great directions, thus easy to follow. I have taken some really great pictures. Each day I am learning more and more about my camera and its capabilities. I highly recommend this camera.

FZ 300 is great
I use the FZ 300 camera for serious amateur photography. I have only had it a couple of weeks but I am very well satisfied with the photos and videos that I have taken. Having the constant f2.8 lens is a huge plus.
