Breaks the Paradigm of Bridge Cameras
I purchased this to replace my finally worn-out FZ150, which gave me many years of lightweight travel and service over several continents and hours of training video production. This fixed-lens wonder excels at and surpasses every function of the FZ150 EXCEPT ... it's a freakin' beast. It is bigger than my E-M1 II, and heavier as well, so it is no longer an ideal travel camera, in terms of weight. It also extends to the length of a zoom (the Leic... Show More

A camera that I would buy again.
Just received the camera a few days ago and have had good results with it. I have used it to photograph my niece's son playing hockey. Photos were taken across the rink with very good results, nice and clear pictures. The camera is a little bit heavier than I expected, but still lighter than my Nikon D7000. It should be a great travel camera.

So far, so good!
The first camera came damaged, but B&H was awsome on the return and proptly exchanged it for a new one. So far I have been happy with the quality of the still photo's and the built in ND filters have been great for filming outdoor sports - such as LaCrosse!

Not as sharp in foxusing as the FZ1000 I just sold.
Really disappointed so far in getting this new FZ2500 to nail a sharp focus. I have tried all the tricks, such as spot focus, manual focus, no stabilizer, different apertures, wired remote, silent shutter, all on a solid tripod. My 1000 had no problems in this area.

Huge Upgrade - Perfect
This model is a beautiful upgrade from my old model FZ200. The many new features .. like wide angle lens and 4k burst are outstanding. I tested the 4k on a speeding car on the freeway. It came out clean and perfect. It feels like it's easier for me to use this model as it was built on my old model. I will certainly enjoy taking pictures on my next trip next month in Japan.

Well worth the wait and well worth its weight!
Own the Lumix 1000 and this is great upgrade with the one thing lacking --increased resolution. Although I use these as still cameras only, they are undoubtedly the best camera in the field for Wildlife, Botany, and Birds. The set up menus are thorough and require special attention and then the camera is a dream to use.

It didn't take me long to know this camera was exceptional.
I love this camera. It fits perfectly in my hands, it starts up and focuses super fast, the rotating LCD is perfect, the pictures it produces are exceptional, and I absolutely love the zoom range. It is the first non-SLR I have ever owned that I have full confidence in when taking sports/action shots. I have the camera set to take seven frames per second in continuous shooting and at that setting it has full live view. At that setting there is ze... Show More

Transitioning from stills to video this hits the mark
Yes it's a bridge camera, but I am using it as my bridge from taking stills to recording video. Video functions galore. It's much like the GH4 (without interchangeable lens), including installing the v-Log profile DMW-SFU1-VLOG. I just installed this upgrade today and will be testing it tomorrow. Built-in ND filters and the ability to set shutter speed from secs to degrees are welcome bonuses for me.

The FZ2500 is an amazing camera
With the holidays approaching I haven't had enough time ti learn all about this amazing camera. The grip is perfect for my slightly arthritic hands. The lens is tack sharp all the way from 24 to 960 mm (extended optical zoom) and to about 1700 with the digital zoom. Love the 2500 at this point.

Swiss Army Knifer
Excellent image quality considering the 1 sensor. Lens is fast and sharp; good at 480mm (FF equiv.) in the center and acceptable at the edges. For what it is it's a terrific travel camera. Is it great at high ISO's? No, but not awful up to 1600. The video is amazing and the 4K stills capture is something as in post focus and stacking. Controls are exceptional, and, while it's not little it's not a beast either. I pair it with a Leica Type 109 (OK, a Panasonic LX100 with a red dot) and for around 3 pounds I have it all.

Nice video camera
For pictures I can't tell any difference in image quality over the FZ1000. However, for video this is a major upgrade. Built in ND filters, a smooth zoom, much quieter then the FZ1000, VFR, and several other features found in the GH4. Worth the higher cost if video is the priority.

There is indeed thread on the lens for a 67mm filter.
I don't know why so many sites say that there is no thread on the lens to accept a filter. I just screwed one onto my FZ2500 lens (67mm). Regarding the camera itself, I just shot several test shots at a local park--all at maximum telephoto and maximum aperture. overall I was a bit disappointed. I also have a sony rx10 III and the shots at 600mm seem sharper than those of the fz2500. But keep in mind that lighting conditions may have been a factor... Show More
