1 sensor camera loaded with features
I bought this as a do everything travel camera: wide angle scenic, telephoto for wildlife, and macro for images of closeups. It delivers on all counts to the extent that I use the LZ1000 when I don't want to carry my Canon 6D with three lenses. I found that rapid focus and high burst rate functions worked well at my grandson's 4th birthday party. Also while I prefer an optical pentaprism viewfinder, the high resolution electronic viewfinder is excellent.

Excellent field camera
I carry a Nikon 800 with a wide assortment of lenses when I travel to get wildlife photos. In the past, I have had to take a second body to back-up my camera. The DMC-FZ1000 carries with it a great lens that is fast and very functional. Not too heavy and fits in my camera vest when I am shooting with the Nikon. It really meets my needs. The quality of the photos are excellent and I have no concern about missing that import shot while using the camera.

Panasonic LUMIX 1000 - Awesome
Extremely pleased with the recent addition of the 1000 model to my arsenal. Just got back from a trip to the mountains and canyons in southern Utah. The photos were absolutely magnificent! I still use my 300, which is still a great camera, but the 22 mp 1000 model is just outstanding. The 1000 may not have the zoom distance of the 300, but 800mm is good enough for me and the work that I do. In closing, I highly recommend the Panasonic LUMIX 1000.

1st Digital after FujiVelvia, zeiss/leica optics
My main point. What would it cost and.. weigh IF Leica ever made a stabilized 24mm f2.8 to 1600mm(!!) f4 zoom lens. Cost 1/2M$, weight 20kgs? Well the FZ 1000 gives me that. Being a color freak coming from velvia, I set the Lumix to VIVID at MAX, and keep 81A warming filter on at all times. Hello Velvia2. Was reliability a worry for such a high tech machine? No. My wife's tiny 9 year old Lumix hasn't missed a shot.. but doesn't compare of course.

Even a novice like me can take great pics with the FZ1000!
I'm fairly new to photography, thus I'm definitely considered a novice. I didn't think I was ready to spend the money on a DSLR with lenses/etc so, after doing lots of research, I purchased my FZ1000 as an upgrade to the Lumix FZ200. Now that I have it, I highly doubt I'll ever buy a DSLR as I'm very happy with the images I'm getting in a variety of settings. I've posted two pics that I took within a month of owning the camera. Highly recommend!

Mixed
i like the build on this camera and it feels very solid for a bridge camera but i found the macro mode to be hit or miss resulting in pics that were not always crisp. the focus is fast, zoom is smooth but overall pic quality was a little grainy. the zoom is great for 1 sensor although interested to see how the new canon g3x w/25x will fare against (although pricier). ultimately i found i wanted more than the 400mm. flash produces poor pics.

Great over all but panorama sucks
No need to repeat great things here since they are well reviewed by others and proved basically true in my case too.Weak points: 1) Very noisy zoom when recording a movie 2) Most terrible panorama range & picture quality I've ever seen among any even point-and-shoot cameras3) No lens cap strip provided4) Have to decrease photo size/resolution to use highest combined zoom (optical + i-zoom + digital zoom)5) Wifi photo to PC not working

A camere that solves many of my problema
I was trying to find a good camera lighter than my bulky and heavy professional gear and I tested a few. This one meets all my requirements: it has excellent image, instant focus, little noise, 20 MP and enough zoom range for almost everything (except birds and the like). I have used it daily for two weeks now and I am more than very pleased. I do only still photography therefore I cannot comment on the video performance.

IF YOU DON'T WANT HAUL A BUNCH OF LENSES
I bought this camera in December 2014 when I moved from Chicago to Scottsdale. I just did not want to keep dealing with changes lenses anymore. I very pleased except at times macro feature is not as crisp as I would like. If you want an all purpose camera that gives pretty terrific results this is it. I not only use manual but all the other features when I feel the need. Continuous does a very good job.

Still, surprises me
I bought it for 4k and no need of lenses. The more I shot with it the more my 5dii and now sony a6300 stay in the bag. When I need an inexperienced shooter to run a camera, I give them the FZ. When It comes to breathtaking photos or 120fps I use the a6300. I have made a lot of money with this camera and cannot wait to get the 2500! This cam a tripod and a corded $25 lav can put you in gigs, I did it!

The one camera that truly does it all
The FZ1000 is great for 4K video. And very impressive stills. It has countless number of programs. But the one that most impressed me is the Hand held night shot. Very impressive night photos. A wonderful all around camera with 25-400 optical zoom, and very usable digital zoom. No need to carry around all the extra lenses. It is a large camera, therefore it cannot be considered a pocket-able zoom.

Very Flexible
This is the most flexible bridge camera that I have owned. I finely got a keeper since the Nikon 5700. I also love the IQ I don't do much video but what I have tried is very nice I wanted to get rid of all of the weight caring 4 lenses and that heavy 18-200 vr on my 90 I gave it to my daughter she is young enough to lug it around if she want. I am keeping my canon sx50 also 2nd best super zoom.

Great camera: manual focue is easy and photo quality is very
I have had bridge cameras from Nikon and Canon. Loved them and got photos the big lens cameras missed. Owned the FZ 1000 for two weeks and love it. The auto focus is quick, has an easy self focus, and great photo quality. It feels good even if it is bigger than the other bridge cameras. It is my primary camera and the Canon will be a back up. Got a great package and recommend a second battery.

Great Camera!! Great store to buy from!!
I love my Lumix FZ1000 camera!! It's so light and easy to use. I can't wait for soccer season to start. There are features that I had wished for and this camera had them!! The buttons are set up for quick access no searching for the specific feature. Last night I got beautiful shots of the moon it's amazing in low light situations. I highly recommend buying this camera! I would do it again!!

A PLEASURE TO LEARN
I wanted to move up from a simple digital camera to a 35mm dSLR. A friend told me about something called a Bridge Camera and further went on to recommend the Panasonic Lumix. While it was not cheap, by all accounts (and reviews) you get a lot more than you are paying for. I am slowly getting to learn it and venturing into custom settings a bit more each time I take it out. I am enjoying it.

One of the Best All Purpose Cameras Around
Leica lens, Panasonic Electronics in great package. Large 1: sensor provides greater range of colors in photos and images are quite sharp. Scene modes work well, if you want to use them and f 11 is great for maximum sharpness, when needed. Camera needs to be set up properly to work well but once that is done, it makes photography fun and exciting because one can create great images easily.

So Far So Good
Wonderful light weight camera with lot of technology for fraction of the price compare to Canon and Nikon or other brand name camera. The Leica lenses is has a wide zoom range and large aperture for wide angle. I had the camera for a month and it had yield some good picture so far. I tried to make some 4K video but could not edit it on my old Mac so it has to wait until I update my Mac.

Versatility to the utmost.
Am using the lumix f z1000 camera. Am extremely satisfied with it's versatility, ease of using, wide angle and zoom reach, jpeg image quality, ois and a complete package... Made a small YouTube video named colourful story of Ranthambore tiger reserve, which users can view it . It clearly shows this camera performs better than some of the apsc guys in the market. Shall give it a 5* rating.

GREAT CAMERA BUT NEED TO KNOW THIS!!
This is a unbelievable camera for the price. The images it produces are great and it is pretty easy to use. One huge problem with this camera though is wind. Even when mounted on a tripod the slightest gust can cause the image to shake enough that it ruins the shot. Would this prevent me from getting the camera? No.. still love it but if you are planning on using it in wind, beware.

purchased for equal: video and photo
After 1 week of use (Quality) the photo capabilities have exceeded my expectations (great bokeh) and video capabilities are below my expectations. Going to try external device with clean out and see if ramping up mpbs will help video image. For the price I am not displeased. Just thought the video would be better than my 60D and so far it's not. Does not come with HDMI mini chord.

Great camera. But can get complicated.
This is a great camera if you, like me, stick to more or less the basics. Beyond that, the camera options and instructions are complicated and can be overwhelming. As other reviewers have noted, even deeply experienced photographers get frustrated trying to figure out how to make all the options work on this camera. But operation and picture quality are great for my needs.

Maybe expecting too much
I scaled down due to health reasons and thought this camera would become my all-in-one. Well, it's OK... as a matter of fact not bad at all when I looked at the jpeg attached here. I sent it back but am wondering why know! I'm a bit of a nut on clarity and expected this camera to match a Canon 6D. Still looking for the perfect small camera but this one's pretty darn good!

Nice pics, poor reliability
Purchased this camera 2.5 years ago and was quite happy with the pics and video it produced. However after quite modest use the ring within the lens became detached (see pic). A camera store we brought it in to said he had seen other Lumix camera's with the same problem and suggested we could try to send it to Panasonic for repair however not sure it is worth it.
