Excellent!

Nov 25, 2016

I bought the Olympus 25mm 1.2 from B&H because I was waiting for a 50mm equivalent microfourthirds lens that was fast and with good bokeh. Microfourthirds cameras aren't known for bokeh. I have an Olympus Pen F because it focuses fast which is why I got a microfourthirds camera in the first place. When the 25mm 1.2 sample images were available online, they looked great. I bought one of the first lenses B&H had in stock. They shipped it fast witho... Show More

Sharp, great color & contrast, solid

Oct 26, 2018

It had been several years since I'd owned a lens with an aperture larger than 2.8. With Olympus offering $200 off the regular price, and after much going back and forth between the 25/1.2 and 17/1.2, I decided on the 25 for versatility in my style of shooting. Coming from Canon, the physical size of this lens is just right on E-M1ii, and I often use it without the battery grip on the body. Images produced with this lens are sharp, contrasty, and ... Excellent Lens

Jul 9, 2017

This lens is excellent. There's no way to exaggerate this. I thought that the lens would show some limitations due to the high number of elements, and I was surprised to see how accurate the lens is. It is scientific in its capture. In fact, it's too perfect if you're looking for something to soften your images. Even what you can't see with your eyes, you will see in your file, so you've got to be careful with your camera settings, speaking from a JPEG perspective. It's also beautifully made; aesthetically similar to the other pro lenses. I'm looking forward to more f/1.2 primes from Olympus.

Seriously Awesome

Feb 7, 2017

After a couple weeks with this lens I'm simply blown away. The detail, clarity, and rendering is outstanding. Some people don't think it's worth getting this lens when you already have the 25 f1.8, but I think they're wrong! I never really clicked with my 25 f1.8, but this lens is special. I could use it at f/1.2 all day and have no regrets. It's that good! If you value weather sealing, superior quality, and real manual focus, then the cost of this lens is easy to justify. I don't regret this purchase, and I really hope Olympus has plans to make more of these pro prime lenses.

Excellent Lens

Jun 23, 2017

I didn't purchase this lens directly from B&H but rather a friend who had purchased it here. Since I got the lens it has hardly left the camera body (Olympus E-M-5 Mark II). The construction is incredibly solid, carry a little weight, but not enough to be cumbersome. At F1.2 this camera produces beautiful bokeh and shallow depth of field and can still produce a beautiful clear image. I like to shoot in darker and low-light settings, and this lens is perfect for that. The AF is fast and having the manual clutch is great. This lens is well worth the price tag.

Excepcional

Maravilloso.

Fantastic

I rarely write reviews, but I just needed to say out loud that this is one of those lenses that you purchase from time to time that easily eclipses the performance of the body to which it's attached. It's been a great purchase for me, and although I was on the fence with spending the money, I'm now easily able to say that I would spend the money again. The lens is just that good.

A landmark lens in Olympus' m4/3 lineup

Nov 15, 2016

This lens is going to be regarded as a landmark lens in the evolution of the m4/3 system. Not only is it optically excellent with beautiful rendering of out-of-focus areas, little CA or distortion, and great DOF control, but it also achieves very fast and accurate AF, making this lens much more accessible and practical than brighter alternatives that require manual focusing.

Everything I hoped

Feb 17, 2019

I use the lens as my walk-around lens most of the time, especially when I will be in low light situations at night or indoors. Able to use low ISOs and can capture very crisp images that are better than my f2.8 20-40 zoom albeit with the slight restriction of it being a prime lens so a bit more effort on my part occasionally.

Best lens ever

Mar 16, 2017

I've been using this lens for a few months now. Has to be the sharpest and fastest focuses lens i have ever used. Currently using it with an EM1 Mark ii. Feels amazing, looks and is solid, bokeh is absolutely outstanding. The detail you get from this lens is amazing. Also very good for video. -lamrockphotography

Love this lens!!

Nov 20, 2018

Purchased for my M1Mk2. No matter which camera Brand/System Ive owned, Ive always had a fast 50 FOV for it. This lens is absolutely excellent. Crisp and clean images. Nice bokeh when desired. Superbly built. If I had to choose my desert island lens, it would easily be other this one or the Oly 12-40.

All around great lens!

Nov 17, 2017

This lens is meant to never leave a camera body. Excellent construction as with all Pro lens from Olympus. Great image quality even wide open. There are people complaining about weight and size. I do not see any issues with it because it feels just right on camera and is balanced very well.

Amazing lens

The best MFT lens I have ever used. The images are so sharp. I uploaded a test image of my cat to show what can be done taken with a GH5. I think with a higher end camera this thing would be incredible. The build quality is top notch as well. High price though.

Sharp lens!

Nov 7, 2016

I must've been one of the first few to get this lens from B&H. I bought it to use on my Pen F. This lens is just awesome and crazy sharp even at f1.2. It also has pleasing bokeh which makes it great for portraits. Built like a tank. Way to go Olympus!

Excellent color, and startling focus speed even wide open. Well-built, very sharp (again, even wide open), but not clinical: just draws beautifully.
