Decent product

Mar 27, 2011

After using this pedal for few weeks now, I'm quite happy with my purchase. I like that the pedal is heavy, and it almost feels like a real acoustic piano pedal... at least much closer than lighter, plastic-y feeling pedals that I've used in the past. But that doesn't mean that it behaves quite like an acoustic pedal... for example, I like to flutter my pedal when playing through more gentle pieces, and the sustain sort of cuts out in an unpredic... Awesome Keyboard Pedal

Feb 22, 2012

This is my second keyboard sustain pedal, the first was a yamaha fc3 (or something of the like) I stole from my friend and he stole it back... So I had to find something comparable, but I didnt want to spend big bucks. Alas, for the price of next to nothing, I found the SP-2. Works equally as well. Why spend more? Furthermore, some of you have commented about how this sustain pedal doesnt feel true to touch or is delayed, any comments regarding a... Show More

Excellent Sustain Pedal

May 13, 2012

The thing I find best about this sustain pedal is the polarity switch. It works with any keyboard. I switch between Casio and M-audio products, and if it weren't for the polarity switch, I would need two pedals. I like this pedal so much, this is actually the second I've bought (as I am a music teacher and needed to upgrade the pedal for the keyboard I teach on). I bought the first one over three years ago and use it every day. It still works fantastic. I use this pedal to perform, recording, standard home use and teaching. It is a very good quality and has a realistic feel.

Very good damper pedal

Dec 24, 2008

I use the pedal with my Casio Privia, which is a 2nd piano used for evening practicing. My primary piano is a rebuilt 6' grand from the 20s. The pedal is well constructed and has a very good feel. I'm happy with the full sustain performance. I'm less sure about the 1/2 pedal - I don't hear much of an effect, but I don't know if that's the pedal or if the keyboard isn't responsive enough. Overall I'm very satisfied with the pedal and it's added to the enjoyment I get from the Privia. An extra bonus - the factory supplied pedal now works as an una corda (soft) pedal.

Works and looks nice

Oct 6, 2011

My daughter's piano teacher said that she was advancing and would need a pedal. Since I didn't want to go out and buy a piano for her, I looked up my options for the keyboard she uses. At first I looked at the recommended pedal for the Casio keyboard and it just didn't look good and other sites had reviews on that pedal and most people said they were not impressed with that pedal and they are much happier with the M-audio pedal. I took a chance on it and works great with my keyboard. My daughter and her piano teacher are both pleased with it.

pretty good

Jul 25, 2011

I've only ever used one other sustain pedal, so I'll do my best for this review. The construction seems great. The spring is a bit stiffer than the other sustain pedal I was using, so I'll be building up my right calf muscle. The sustain drops off suddenly with this pedal and my keyboard. My last sustain pedal let the notes ring out slightly longer when I would let off the pedal, so I have to play more accurately now. I guess that's a good thing!

Very solid construction, reliable performance

Mar 7, 2017

This is the best sustain pedal I have ever used, including the much more expensive Yamaha pedals. I can't believe how little this costs for as well as it is built. I have just purchased a second one to keep as a backup: A. In case the other one ever fails for any reason, and B. Just in case they stop making them I wanted to be sure I will always have one. I use mine now with a Casio Privia PX5S stage piano, and it works perfectly.

It's a Must Have device

Dec 19, 2010

Given the relatively low cost of this device, and the way it enhances the musical experience, it's a Must have if you playing an electric keyboard. I have an imac, M-Audio AV40 speakers and the M-Audio KeyStudio 49 keyboard. With the Sustain Pedal added, it's an amazing musical expeirence for e relatively low price (Yes, the imac is pretty expensive, but I can use that for work as well as music).

excellent pedal

Feb 3, 2010

very similar to the pedals on a piano, so similar that it even sounds like a piano pedal when you accidently let the pedal snap back up due to the spring inside the pedal. Feels like a piano pedal, works like a piano pedal, looks great, what more could you want; a telepathic sustain sensor? nah, that would be less fun. P.S. it's universal so it works with any keyboard

Yes to this one !!

Sep 9, 2013

Lets face it, it's just an electrical switch. Time will tell if it's a well made one. As a piano player I look for a strong weighty design, a noisless up and down travel, (the stops don't click like 'some' do) and enough resistance for it to feel like an acoustic piano sustain pedal. The SP-2 is the best one I've ever found. For the buck, you can't go wrong.

Surprised at the quality

Aug 14, 2012

Considering that the keyboard itself is so lightweight and somewhat flimsy, I was very surprised at how sturdy the pedal was. It's heavy (in a good way) and just feels solid. This delighted me in an age where everything is made like lightweight garbage. It doesn't slip on the floor and functions great. The jack fits snugly. very please with it.

Good value

Feb 21, 2012

Excellent digital sustain pedal. I purchased this to use with a Casio digital piano to replace the pedal that came with the keyboard. The SP-2 is weighted and stays in place on the carpet. It feels like a pedal on an acoustic piano, which is what I was looking for. My son has used it for a couple of weeks with no problems.

Rock solid sustain pedal

Mar 23, 2010

Simple sturdy design stays in place on all kinds of surfaces. If you are used to playing a piano and having a substantial pedal under your feet, than this is a pedal worth trying. I've used it in both studio and performance environments and it's held it's ground (pun intended) through a variety of playing styles.

Works Great with a Yamaha Keyboard

Dec 30, 2013

I bought the M-Audio sustain pedal for my wife along with a Yamaha Portable keyboard. It works really well with it, and a little cheaper than the Yamaha. It has rubber underneath, and a metal pedal bar, so it feels like an expensive pedal. I have some other M-Audio equipment so I'm pretty sure it will last.

Just like a piano pedal !

Feb 22, 2019

Bought this after the cheesy sustain pedal that came with the ypg-235 did not work out of the box nor did a replacement pedal sent by Yamaha support. The m-audio pedal has the same feel as a traditional piano pedal. Its got a solid feel and rubber bottom to deter slipping. It works perfect.

Good product at a great price!

Jun 13, 2011

I bought this for my 7year old son to use with our electronic piano/keyboard, and it was really easy to set up and use. The old one we had was small and slipped under his legs, so his legs had trouble reaching it. This one is nice and big and very sturdy. It is a great value for the price.

Must buy

Jun 13, 2011

I use this product with my M-Audio Oxygen Keyboard and it works perfectly. Helps to sustain any sounds I use on all of the softwares I use. This is perfect for anyone who is producing music or wants to produce music. Good pedal that isn't very sensitive and a very versatile product.

Sussssssssssssstain Pedalllllllllllll =)

Sep 21, 2011

This pedal does exactly what it was meant to do. It sustains. And it sustains well. It is an absolute necessity for a keyboard, in my opinion. I couldn't have lasted much longer without it! =) Oh, and the fact that it doesn't slip around on the wood floors is wonderful too!

Incredible Quality for the Price

Jan 9, 2019

The M-Audio SP-2 has impressive build quality for the $20 price range. The pedal has great resistance and stays firmly in place. I have not experienced any sliding on the floor, nor any signal loss. The signal has been consistent and smooth. I highly recommendthis product.

Works Great with Realistic Feel

Jul 26, 2010

I would have to say that for the price this sustain pedal is definitely worth it. All the other sustain pedal I looked at that had the same design were about 2X as much money, but this does the job well and is way better than the sustain pedal my keyboard came with.

Works for me

Aug 4, 2011

I use this pedal with an M-Audio Keystation 88es, and a 2008 MacBook running GarageBand. I had some issues using sustain pedals in the past, but this pedal works great. It comes at a very reasonable price. Next I need to invest in a keyboard stand :)

Sturdy

Sep 28, 2012

Initially I was going to build a base out of plywood for this pedal. But after getting & using this pedal, I've found that this is plenty stable & will not move (on carpet at least). Very good quality. Hopefully this will last a long time.

Great pedal

Oct 24, 2011

Bought two of these pedals for an older Casio keyboard. They have good heft so they don't slide around on the floor and good resistance for that real piano feel (without having to lift a real piano when you move). Overall, very satisfied.
