My first synth
I got this because of the size and wanted to learn about shaping sounds manually. I just lay it on my lap at my computer desk; right hand on the keys, left hand on the controls. The 1.3 update was already loaded on it. It's a great midi controller via usb. I use it with Ableton, Melodics and Synthesia. I will need to get an audio interface later to record its sound.

this thing is amazing
I've really wanted a small true synthesizer that I can sit on the couch with headphones and play with, no computer needed, and no little screen with terrible usability for inputting parameters. This thing is perfect for that. Will be great for live performances too.

Pro quality bag
Very nice bag. The length just fits the reface and the height has an additional furrow to keep the power supply, MIDI dongle, etc. The material is good. The zippers are smooth. It's easy enough to open, stow, & close that I use it to store the reface when I'm not using it.

Yamaha Reface CS
The keyboard has some really cool sounds so Im impressed with what you can get out of this unit. Just started working with the soundmondo app which is important so you can store your sounds and you can also use other users sounds and store in your profile. For great analog synth sounds its great. I dont need the piano or organ sounds so if you need that then you wont get that type of sound

Best Built and Sounding Little Synth In Decades
Excellent synth despite small keys and size. In fact, most larger synths dont have the sounds this can make. Theres not presets, screen, etc. on the synth so you must dial in your sound which makes the instrument an amazing one of a kind learning tool, pandoras box, and jam box. There are several excellent FX you can use including delay, chorus, distortion, etc. Theres also a looper that is fun to play with but ultimately difficult to sync. If yo... Show More

Works, but don't expect real protection
This is a medium quality case with light padding. Mainly best used to carry the instrument safely - not throw it in a car and let anything rest on it. It has 2 compartments that run the full length (2/3 and 1/3 length respectively) designed to hold the AC adapter and some cables length wise. That's nice but if you have cables in another bag like I do you don't need it and could get a much smaller bag.

pretty happy with it
It's a fun, easy, fake-analog synth with a nifty looper that I can run a drum machine into and make simple tracks on the couch or have fun making noise with my kid. The sounds are good enough to record with, but controls not quite as smooth as real analog. These days it would be better priced a little cheaper with the Keytar kit thrown in for free, since Korg and Arturia have real analog machines just as cheap. I like it overall.

Great little synth & great shipping from B&H
The synth is pretty much limited to what you see on the front panel, but you will be surprised at how much it can cover and most importantly it sounds great. I bought it for a portable simple VA to use on the couch. It's capable of your bread and butter analog sounds, but so much more. It has that Yamaha CS filter as well which I love. The best thing is it is 8 voice poly, not downscaled to 4 like others. I do wish it had a velocity sensitive key... Show More

Must-have for your Reface
Got a Reface DX and wanted a way to port it around easily. This bag does the trick. Has enough padding to protect without adding bulk or weight. Easy to sling over your shoulder, carry by the handle, or slip onto a rolling luggage handle (the back has that feature.) For me, the cable compartment is large enough for me to store a sustain pedal, the power brick, some spare batteries, and a bluetooth speaker (Sony SRS-X3) with an aux cable for an external sound boost. Price isn't bad, either.
