This is my new favorite lens.
Fast, accurate, amazingly sharp. The build quality isn't the same as the Zeiss 85mm, but costs a fraction of other Zeiss lens. The only thing that keeps this from being perfect is a bit of vignetting wide open, but totally acceptable. This and a 70-200mm cover 90% of my shooting. The days of constant lens changing are over, this will spend most of it's time attached to the camera.

Great resolution & color, but with shortcomings
High resolution & vivid color rivals those prime lenses. Great zoom range makes it ideal for daily uses while still generating excellent images. Beware of the light fall off, though, as it only disappears after f8.0. Also, when using CPL filter, even with a thin version, dark corner is still a problem at 16mm. But overall this is a much better lens than average standard zooms.

A Great lense for any occasion
I am making fine art landscape photography. Its focal length range is ideal for my Sony A580 (APS-C), equivalent to 24-120mm. The image quality is always great; sharp, but with gentle,good colors,cleaqr contrasts, and very pleasant images. This DSLR system complements for medium format Hasselblad and large format 4x5 B&W & color slide films.

Amazing Lens If You Get a Good Copy
General Walk Around Use Amazing sharpness even wide open. Great contrast and resistance to CA. Accurate focus even in lower light. Color rendition is superb Wish it had a SSM Motor My only issue was the 1st one sent to me had poor sharpness on the left side. The 2nd copy sent was perfect, so watch for sample variations in this lens

Awesome Lens!!!
Great piece of glass, just recently returned from a vacation with some phenomial shots. Be warned, if you are going to attach a UV filter, it needs to be thin or for panoramic shots, I've been experiencing heavy vinetting from the 16-20mm range. Other wise, awesome!

Well-balanced performance!!
This lens is a very good balance between speed, physical size, weight, range & cost. The build is a little bit disappointing considering the price, but the results more than compensate. And clearly, the 16-80 mm range makes this lens very versatile indeed.

THIS LENS WILL LIVE ON MY CAMERA
BOUGHT THIS LENS FOR MY A390L, LOVE IT! IT IS HEAVY BUT GET OVER IT, IT TAKES GREAT PICTURES, FOCUS IS FAST ENOUGH FOR ME! WISH IT WAS A f/2.8 BUT IT WILL WORK FOR ME! B&H WAS GREAT TO DEAL WITH AS WELL!

Super sharp!
After reading reviews of this lens, I took the plunge. I use this with the A77. It is now on my camera almost all the time. Very fast focus, quiet and tack sharp.

Very good lens
I use this lens as my walk around lens and it works great for flower shots. The focus distance could be some what better but the image quality is spectacular.

Excellent but...
Excellent results with high definition and contrast, excellent range of use. But to much vigneting at 16mm, not acceptable for a Zeiss lense!

Great lens (with enough light)
Beautifully made, compact, solid feeling lens. Fits my SLT-A55 well. Nice IQ, good focus speed. Just wish it had a wider aperture.

Great lens
Use it often outdoors, upgraded my kitlens to this CZ lens and very happy with it. Sometimes a bit slow to focus a moving object
