I love it

I get this one from my cinematography school as part of the Digital cinematography program. I like the sound, very clear and distinctive. I recommend it

Great Headphones !

Love the sound produced by it !!! If you can afford them, you should buy Grado PS500 instead. They sound great with my Sony Walkman F800 32GB.

Great headphones

Aug 21, 2012

I use these for audio recording work. I find that some of the bigger and more expensive headphones press on my ear cartilage in a way that starts to hurt over time, and these don't. The sound is accurate through them, the fit is good - I can clearly focus me on the audio from the recording and not hear ambient noise in the room - and the price-to-quality ratio is good. Thumbs up from me. Downside: if you throw them across the room when you're frustrated, they break.

These headphones are great! They reproduce sound excellently and one will notice the small details that producers put into their audio.Pros: The headphones are very comfortable and can be worn for prolonged use. The each of the speaker units in the headphone swivel around the shape of one's head for comfort. The sound quality is superb. The low end and high ends are crisp and powerful. It is so clear that one will notice what sounds one is missin... Show More

Studio Quality on a Budget

Mar 21, 2012

I use these for studio/field recording and feel the sound quality and noise isolation is really good, especially for $. The frequency response is nicely bassy and has a strong midrange, good for testing and pre-mixing, etc.

A Little on the bass heavy side

Dec 7, 2011

I use these with a comtek 216 system. I like them but also dont at the same time. Mainly like them because of the price, and dont like them because of the sound quality. The are ok at best. A little heavy on the bass and dont truly reflect what i am giving production in my mix.

Outstanding out of the box

Nov 15, 2011

Critical listening, audio production. I own Sennheiser HD650's which I love, but can't always use due to their open design in my home studio for isolation purposes. These fit the bill nicely. They're not completely burned in, but even out of the box they sound great. Highly responsive bass, intelligible mids and crisp highs. I love them. They're also comfy and have the perfect length removable cable. I use them with my CEntrance DACport headphone amp.

MDR 7520 and MDR 7509HD

Oct 10, 2011

I am a classical musician who records in concert halls- mostly chamber music (piano, brass, strings, percussion). I have always used Sony headphones when I engineer and produce, although I have tried out a number of other brands (Sennheiser, Grado). I would be the first to say that headphone sound, like speaker sound, is a personal choice, so read on with a grain of salt. I was looking to upgrade my headphones and decided to try out a few pairs. ... Show More

Insufficient

Sep 14, 2011

I used these headphones with a prosumer camera and azden mic for an indie film production. The product was not comfortable, but more importantly, randomly fizzed with poor quality feedback. I tested the other equipment and it was indeed the headphones. Cheap. This is a harsh criticism, but I bought them based on too many good reviews. Near the end of the shoot, I stopped wearing them and ruined a scene because I could no longer pay attention to quality.

Great Value Headset

Aug 10, 2011

I really liked this purchase. Solid headset, fits my need of a simple lightweight inexpensive headset to use for video editing where the sound is not the main focus of the piece. I like that it's compact and produces good clear sound. I have bigger ears than a regular woman, so they feel a bit small and do not fully wrap around my earlobes, causing a bit of discomfort... but not enough to make me disapprove of it. I truly recommend it, especially for amateur videographers and alike. There are better headsets out there, but they also come with a big price tag. This is great value.

Dont Like The Sound.

Jul 19, 2011

Hello, I just bought a Sony MDR 7510 and the truth I did not like one bit the sound, I have a Sony MDR 7506 and remains the best Sony headset, it sounds clearer, more natural, more beautiful treble, etc. ... I really do not recommend it, those who thought change its 7506 or bother to take my example and I've lost $, by luck I could sell and get my invercion a suggestion I have them lay it on a Sony MDR 7506 Deluxe Pearstone earpads and remember me.

Decent pair of headphones

Jun 27, 2011

I have multiple pairs of headphones for different uses and always get a pair of cans for under $100 for my daily commute. Since I broke my previous pair I was looking for a replacement and got those from the B&H superstore. They feel a bit flimsy and I have a feeling they could break quite easily but the sound coming from them is decent and they're pretty comfortable. For $ it's not bad at all. The cable is a bit too long for a mobile use but it's not too big of a deal. I hope they'll last at least one year if not 2.

Comfortable, even and clear sound

Apr 10, 2011

Use them for my NYC commute via an iPhone and occasionally to monitor with an H2 mic. For music, you may have to turn them up to get decent bass and although they're closed-ear, can cause sound to leak out quite a bit (this could cause you to bother your fellow straphangers and risk being labeled as that guy). Very comfortable but they don't fold up. Cord feels durable. I have small ears that barely stick out from my head and these phones don't clamp onto my skull. I wouldn't say that I could dance around wearing them but they stay on firmly enough navigating the subways of NYC.

Plasticy and cheap

Jan 29, 2011

I bought a pair of these and they broke right above the ear. The piece that slides back and forth to adjust the size for your head broke within 6 months. I really liked the sound quality of them, so I ordered another pair, and within 4 months, they broke in the same place. While the sound quality is much better then your average $50 headphones, Id only buy these if you will use them in post-production, and not in a rougher production environment, because they are built pretty cheap.

Good Headphone for the money

Jan 24, 2011

I bought this recently so I could plug it into my HVR-V1U camera while shooting a live performance. Audio quality is excellent while doing a good job at cancelling outside noise. One caveat: I wish these headphones could fold up thus making them easier to pack in cases, etc, with other gear.

Good Bang for the Buck

Dec 12, 2010

We recently purchased Several more MDR-7502 headphones for our company. We use them for our professional interpreters while interpreting for conventions. Most all the interpreters I've personally worked with are VERY picky about sound quality. We originally had several larger, more expensive headphones, but most of the interpreters prefer these smaller, lighter weight headphones which still have excellent sound quality. We have tried MANY different types of headphones over the years and have chosen these above all others for quite a few years now.
