Lens quality poor to mediocre
The first camera had an extremely poor lens, the replacement had a lens softer than my dying RX100 and also slightly softer than the Panasonic Lx10 I ordered for comparison. I kept the Lx10. I really wanted a EVF, but the fiddly EVF on the RX100v is probably not worth the price even if they get the lens IQ under control.

I like it, but the cost-benefit is not so good.
1. The case that comes in the "Free Acessory Kit" is low quality and too small. 2. The memory card that come in the "Free Acessory Kit" is excellent. 3. Excellent camera for near objects inside photos. 4. Has almost no zoom. 5. The flash is very bad. Little light. 6. Very good do carry with you, due to the low size.

all there and more....excellent
the camera is quite capable as expected..... however, there are several features I was very happy to realize such as the slog2 shooting mode (sony gamma curve for max tonality) and the accuracy of the autofocus.

Great camera!!
Ive been debating about buying this camera for a few months. It has a lot of good reviews and finally Ive decided to give it a shot.Im a Canon user and the hardest part was to convince myself to purchase the RX100V . Im glad I did. This is my pocket everyday and everywhere camera. I like the results and the ease of use. The battery life seems to be ok. I always carry spare batteries, but Ive never had to change the battery while I was out shootin... Show More

Awesome
I'm an old man with little interest in digital photography. Just point & shoot in a pocket size quality camera was what I was looking for. But, this tiny camera offers so much that experimenting into photography now has my interest. Images in the auto mode are fantastic. The only improvement I would like is just to be able to off load the images to my PC & Mac using just the SD Card but the procedure required is acceptable. How did Sony ever pack so much into something so small? The more I play with it the more I am impressed and pleased.

Stuck in the middle..but that's a good thing.
I bought this camera for the sensor, since I purchased a Sony PXW-X70, and wanted a two-camera option for shoots. It performs well enough for what I need, which is long periods of "ON" and routed into a small video switcher (ATEM). However, the settings on the camera do not coincide with the X70, and I am stuck doing significant matching prior to shoots, especially with color balance incongruencies. HOwever, when matched, the quality of the image... Show More

Great Optics, Fast, Sometimes Frustrating
The Zeiss glass is great. And this camera responds very quickly, which will make it a great choice for people who want a quick point-and-shoot camera to capture spontaneous moments. The Wi-Fi and/or direct to computer/phone functionality is, in a word, abysmal. Wish Sony wouldhave enabled live transfer via Bluetooth instead of the nearly unusable Wi-Fi functionality. It's also geared towards integration with Sony's proprietary image management so... Show More

My favorite Camera ever
I own a lot of equipment and this is my favorite. It is insanely fast, you can adjust settings while looking through the lens, and its small. Video is incredible. I am obsessed with this one.

Just keeps getting better
This is my third RX100 camera. I still own the Mark I and used to own the Mark IV. I use the RX100 for both above water and underwater photography/video. These are not my primary cameras. I also shoot a Sony A7rII and an A6000. I use the RX100 as either a backup camera system for underwater, or as a camera I can take along in my pocket when I need to go small. I continue to be amazed at how much quality you can get out of such a small package. Su... Show More

Great camera but...sort of wish I held out for Rx10m4
We took this RX100 V and my dads RX10 M3 to Africa for two weeks of travel safari and touring. As an enthusiest coming off a 6D with L glass I thought the Sony 1 set up was just great. Granted the RX10 did hunt a little bit At 600mm when animals were behind branches and such. But man we got mostly great images from both camera. Also, while a lot of people knock the menu system, it didnt seem to be too, too hard to use. Back to the RX100 V, my onl... Show More

Cybe shot hits the spot!
excellent image quality. I'm still trying to figure some things out. The manual is not very helpful, considering the many facets of the camera. Also, the battery life is shorter than I would like. But, on the other hand, low light shooting is very good. The point is I am too old and arthritic to lug around a big DSLR (of which I own 2). This camera is the only one that comes close to what I want; a fast lens, good quality images and portability.

Reviews are spot on
In my 2 weeks of using this camera, the many reviews on it are spot on. The image quality is excellent and the 4K video is incredible. The menus and usage of the camera isn't very intuitive but I was able to get the hang of it within a week. The price was the same at all retailers so it was great that B&H provided a free case and memory card with the purchase.

If You Want A Quality Point-And-Shoot With DSLR Features +
I am a new RX100 V buyer but a longtime Sony camera user (NEX, Alpha, and a6300) The RX100 V is an engineering marvel to hold in the palm of your hand. It is as small as little inexpensive point-and-shoot camera but as mighty as most DSLR's and then some in many cases. It's rich and many features could make this a challenging camera to learn how to use but it's Auto, scene, and other pre-set functions make it easy for the user that wants the best... Show More

Simply the best camera you can get that fits in your pocket!
This is the best pocket camera around. I traded up from the original RX100, and am pleased that I waited for this fantastic camera. The optical view finder is awesome, and image quality is great. I do wish that it had the zoom range of the original, but the faster aperture is a reasonable tradeoff. Highly recommended.

FAST!
After years using first a Canon G12 (got stolen) then the Nikon P7800 for a pocket camera because they had both RAW and that wonderful swivel screen, I tried the RX100 at B&H and fell in love with the speed with which it could focus even in low light, It's now my principal street shooter. No more lost shots when subjects move or change expression. WOW! Everything else, except, of course, for the only partially moving screen, is great. You do need to get a CC plug-in for the RAW images. Highly recommended. Oh, Amazing video quality as well!

I would, as the cue says, buy this product again and again!
Used for 'serious' photography, from flowers to landscapes; very light and portable, but not a significant zoom (for which I purchased a Sony WX 350, separately - does a good job). Really fine results.

Good product choice.
Take this camera with me often. Right size, good pics, easy to use. Camera and other items arrived in perfect condition, on the exact day B&H predicted it would be here. The online purchase process was as simple and seamless as could be.

Great camera but has overheating issues
Love this camera! Great camera for point and shoot. I just went on a trip to Joshua Tree National Park and tested this camera out. It performed great in all modes and the picture and video resolution is amazing! The only downside is if I was using it for slightly prolonged periods it would warn me that it was over heating (even if I was inside of an air conditioned car) and shut itself off. So until something can be done to fix that issue it loses one star.

Very happy with the purchase
EXCELLENT camera. Love all the features it has and the image quality is on par with front side illuminated (pre 2012 design) APS-C sensors. The high frame rate mode until 480 fps gives very good quality video. Eve 960 fps is good enough if you frame your image window well by trying to fill the frame as much as possible with the entire subject - use as many pixels as possible. Overall very happy with the purchase and seems like this will be the last iteration in this line of cameras because it's perfect.

Amazingly compact. Robust build quality.
A demonstrable upgrade from the Mark II version. Much faster autofocus, far fewer out of focus shots. It has a dense, robust feel. Amazingly compact, especially with the retractable lens.

This is one handy camera with many, many settings. I find myself pulling this out for pictures and video because of its handiness and I own an A7 R II and an A9.
