Wonderful camera!
Moved to the R IV from an Alpha 7 II. Great improvement in the ergonomics, resolution, autofocus, electronic viewfinder, dual UHS II slots, etc. Can't comment on a comparison with the 7 III series cameras, but this was a tremendous step for me that I am loving.

Fantastic camera!
I recently made the switch from Canon to Sony. I am delighted with the results from shooting this camera. I am still learning this complex piece of gear but produced great images right away. I love the fact that it is almost the same body as the a9II, with controls in the same places and using the same accessories - cards, batteries, vertical grip.

The resolution jump is valuable for landscapes
I actually held off upgrading my original A7R until this model came out. The previous jump from 36mp to 42mp wasn't quite enough more me to justify, as I mainly do landscapes. Now that I have the A7R4, I also am enjoying the other features. Animal eye-AF is amazing for my foster dogs, the shutter is amazingly well damped, and the overall handling is better than any previous DSLRs I've used in the past 12-15 yrs. There is always a lot of fuss mad... Show More

Outstanding in every way
I am totally happy with the Sony a7r4. I shoot a lot of small birds and landscapes and the 61 megapixel sensor allows me to crop and still have great detail in the images. I love being able set multiple custom keys to facilitate the way I shoot. And the improved ergonomics and weather sealing are a definite plus. I highly recommend this camera.

OMG! The is amazing!
with twice as many megapixels as the Canon 5DIV it replaced I am thrilled with my images. As a wildlife photographer I often have to crop my shots. I did that yesterday big time and a small bird at distance. The crop is very detailed and will print at 8x10

Best camera on the market
I have really found this camera is 2 in 1, a great landscape general purpose camera, and in crop mode a killer 27 megapixel birding camera. EVF is amazing and light years ahead of my old A7R2. The fit and feel is better and the Z battery is unstoppable. One caveat is USE GOOD GLASS, any imperfections in cheaper glass will be very evident in your images

Excellent camera, but not good enough for some things
If you dont own an A7R3 and have (or want to purchase) GM or equivalent glass, the A7R4 is generally worth the premium. There are some caveats from my experience with 2 copies of this camera. Pixel shift (PS) did not work correctly on the first copy and is better but still flawed in the second copy. 4 shot PS is equal if not worse than the A7R3. 16 shot PS has artifacts that make the photos of glass buildings look awful. Instead of a shiny surfac... Show More

This purchase was perfect, all of the necessary basics (besides the lens came included in the bundle. The body itself is phenomenal. It has a good heft and the quality feels durable. Its very easy to handle and its been really fun shooting with it.

Amazing upgrade from T5i
Have been shooting with canon forever and was recommended I look at Sony after the tepid EOS R release. Not gonna look back.

Excellent upgrade from R3
I shoot portraits, weddings, landscapes, so the a7r4 made a lot of sense for me. I honestly wasnt going to upgrade from my a7r3, but after trying it out at a Sony store, I felt that the af, ergonomics and quality of life improvements made the upgrade worth it. Shooting in studio, the AF was a lot more accurate than my R3, didnt have any missed shots. Shooting landscapes, the 16-shot pixel shift function created a gorgeous 240mp shot with phenome... Sony A7RIV
Camera arrived as advertised. Many customizable buttons/options which can be saved in memory and quickly retrieved depending on shooting situation such as portrait, action, landscape, etc. Moreover you can do separate presets for stills and video. Color science has improved while AF is very accurate. Size/grip for me is perfect. Sad to say though you cannot use your iphone to remotely trigger the camera which s/b an easy fix. Option to shoot jpeg... Show More

Excellent in everything
I shoot portraits, night sky, wildlife, architectures and streets. With the help of corresponding lenses, A7R4 can have excellent performance in almost every topics. Good feeling when holding. My first camera was in sony a7 series so I'm pretty accustomed to sony's menu. I was a little bit worried about its high-iso performance before purchase, but now I find it's good enough. Therefore, I believe the next year's a7m4 will show a even better high... Show More

Updated from A7III and it's great
I watched this camera for a while and when it's on EDU discount, I ordered it with no hesitation. This is an update from my old A7III. I mostly shoot landscape, so this definitely worth it. You do need to purchase more USH II card if you come from A7III and they are not cheap, also you will feel some of the lens are no longer sharp enough for the high res. Basically, if you buy this, you will spend a lot of more money than the camera body. I would say think twice before you make the order.

Best choice for photograhpy
A7R4 is easy to handle. Its high pixel is a surprise and can be useful on most occasions. I recommend it for landscape photography.

Absolutely amazing camera
Picked up this body after a fill switch from nikon. Absolutely love the feel and the ergonomics. The electronic viewfinder is amazing. I've been shooting for quite a few years now and I think this will be my main body for quite some time. Pros - in body stabilization. Absolutely amazing and after having a dslr for so long this is quite the treat. - electronic viewfinder. I can see what my picture actually looks like as I'm shooting and posi... Show More

Great improvement over AR7III
Lots of improvements here over the last version. Nice quality build that you would expect featuring superb button action and of course more megapixels. Didn't really need all those megapixels but glad I upgraded - it's a big jump from the AR7III.

Even better than the A7R III
I own the A7R II, III and the IV. Although many reviewers say that the difference between the III and IV is not huge, I ended up buying the IV due to its snappier response, higher resolution and small improvements here and there. I quite often reframe my photos taken in a horizontal composition. The II and III were great due to the high resolution. Now with the IV, I have a little bit more room to do this. I have a high end workstation and a lo... Show More
