User-friendly + excellent image quality
I am an amateur photographer frustrated with the limitations of higher-end point and shoot cameras. I've been reluctant to upgrade to a DSLR because of the bulk and added complexity. Loving it so far
I'm a man born with my mothers hands. I wear a mens small golf glove if that gives you an idea. This camera is the perfect size for me, though I imagine the right side of the back (where all buttons are, nothing really on the left side) could get a bit cramped for those with fat fingers. So Many New Features - Focus is Primo!
Having owned, past or present, the NEX-5N, NEX-3N, and NEX-7 and 6 lenses, I can say without reservation that this iteration of the Sony mirrorless APS-C series is the best all-round model. Be sure to upgrade the firmware on your older lenses from v.01 to v.02 to make them phase detect ready, otherwise they will continue to use only the contrast detect focus on the a6000. Excellent upgrade to NEX-6 and NEX-7
Very happy with the improvements in the a6000. Having used a NEX-7 for two years, I found only one missing feature in a6000 - in-view-finder Level indicator and the body is just different enough that a new custom L-bracket is required. Lots of great new features - wifi, 3 sizes of movable focus spot, memory and customizable buttons, higher quality images, in-camera charging, wired remote, and seriously improved fast accurate focus. Also OK with the lower resolution EVF - I barely notice the downgrade.

Great first mirrorless camera!
Really enjoying this camera. The camera is very well made and has almost all the functionality I would want. I love the size and weight, button layout, menus etc. My only complaints are lack of touch screen and the kit lens could be better (but that's to be expected I guess). Video is excellent.

Great small camera
Needed something small and light. Shoulder could not handle my Sony DSLR--did not want to be to obvious walking around and wanted something I could keep in my jacket pocket and pull out for street photography. Also wanted a camera that took quality photos. The A6000 did all that. My main complaint is that operation is not intuitive. Fortunately there is some overlap with my Alpha 700. Sony AlphaA6000
replaces my NEX 7 with several improvements: (1) no overheating (2) great speed for action shots (3) rapid focus (4)accurate focal ( 5) much simpler controls. For the price, it is a real gem. I will use it exclusively till I can afford the 7R or its next equivalent with lenses which are also a major investment

love It!
I needed a lightweight camera for travel and when it's not practical for me to carry my D800. Some of the shots I got were great. Color was beautiful! The directions are minimal so it's a lot of expermrnting as I work my way through menus, but I it seems like it will be a great camera to use for travel. It would be great if the manual was more comprehensive with an appendix so I could more efficiently focus on learning what I need to. I am hopeful that this will meet my travel needs.

Fast AF, excellent high ISO. Pleased
I have been using Sony Nex cameras for a few years, mainly for low light (indoor) photos of children. My hope was that the A6000 would give me faster auto-focus while retaining the excellent low light performance of my Nex 5R. The auto-focus I find is actually now very fast, even with the SEL 50mm 1.8 lens, which was pretty slow to focus on the 5R. I LOVE IT!!!
There are times when I don't fell like lugging around my a77 but at the same time, I don't want to settle for a point and shoot. The a6000 is perfect for this reason. I decided to get the body only and purchased the Sony E-Mount 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Zoom Lens separately. So far, GREAT combination. Very easy to use and most importantly, it takes very clear and crisp photos. Great little camera.

Inital Impressions are Great!
I bought this in a kit with the Sony Vario-Tessar T* E 16-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens and they work great together. I got it a week ago and took some still photos, a panorama and a video. The camera had no trouble with this lens so far. It autofocused fast, even with the panorama where it sounded like it use the burst shots of 11fps. The low light pictures had good focus, especially focusing on so many different things in each shot. The movie was also impressive with its high resolution 1080p images. I'm very happy with it, but still have a lot to explore with it.

Install a screen protector before use.
Purchased as a quality, easy-carry, camera and it has fulfilled those requirements. Images are great, and capabilities are many. Unfortunately, one hour of gentle use resulted in the lower half of the rear-screen being covered in tiny scratches. I've added an adapter to allow use of Alpha lenses and find the RAW and JPEG output very usable.

I got this camera for traveling. I mind about IQ but was tired about taking heavy dslr's and lenses with me. It's an improvement over Nex6. Autofocus is really fast, the camera is fast and responsible and finally sony did put a fine menu system. Things it could be better. Install a screen protector before using
Received my A6000 on 5/28. Attached Sony shoulder strap and went for a walk with the new camera. An hour later got home to review the images. Noticed that the lower half of the rear view-screen was covered in tiny scratches. I was carefull with the A6000 while walking, with the camera only rubbing against cotton shirt. No metal.
