Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Graphite)
If you want full DSLR in a pocket camera-get this!
I have a Sony a65 full size camera which I love! For travel photo trips however, I wanted more of a pocket camera. The a6000 which I took on a trip in june, 2017 to Yellowstone produced the same excellent results as the a65! It has the same sensor. It also has a view finder that allows a better view in bright sun light when doing landscape's which is mostly what I shoot! Also the 16 to 55 mm lens closes almost completely into the body. The cost with 2 lens is a bargain ..I love this camera.

Best mirrorless camera to start with
Bought this camera as my second A6000 to travel with. Small size, large well-designed sensor, focus peaking and ability to use with my legacy Leica lenses and newer Sony and Sony Zeiss lenses make it perfect for landscape, portrait and street photography. No down sides found yet; with external flash can use off-camera TTL flash lighting to produce professional results. I am most impressed with this iteration of Sony's NEX/Alpha camera line; they hit a home run with the A6000 in my opinion.

Fun to shoot with
I use the a6000 as a carry with me quick draw ready to shoot camera. This camera has a stellar sensor. Put a great lens on it and find out. I really like the 11fps, EVF, focus peaking, small size and weight. It's always ready to shoot. Unlike my D800. The a6000 is really fun to use. Controls can be customized to your hearts content. If you have kids, or pets, you can take action stopping shots you never new you missed until you see them right before your eyes. Love it. There are no cons.

Fantastic Camera
I had this camera converted to full spectrum. I can't say enough good things about it! The compact size makes it easy to carry around. It's also less obtrusive than my DSLR, making it easier to get candid shots. The menus are intuitive and the controls are, for the most part, laid out well enough given the small size of the camera. The only things I don't like are the shorter battery life and the fact that I frequently accidentally turn the mode dial when I mean to change the aperture.

Solid
Got this camera as a preset for a compete beginner. For the features included in the camera, the price is spot on. It is ultra portable, especially with the 16-50 lens, has a tilting screen, EVF, wifi, etc. I won't bore you with the details. After playing around with it, I fell in love with the Sony platform of mirrorless cameras. My main body is a Canon 5dm3. This body feels like a toy in weight and size, but that's what I love about it. I plan on switching to Sony in the near future.

love It!
I needed a lightweight camera for travel and when it's not practical for me to carry my D800. Some of the shots I got were great. Color was beautiful! The directions are minimal so it's a lot of expermrnting as I work my way through menus, but I it seems like it will be a great camera to use for travel. It would be great if the manual was more comprehensive with an appendix so I could more efficiently focus on learning what I need to. I am hopeful that this will meet my travel needs.

Lightweight, love the features, however...
I bought the a6000 as a backup to my DSLR's. The camera is so light, and a pleasure to use. Controls make sense and image quality is terrific even at high ISOs. Unfortunately, the 16-50mm is soft at the edges. I've shot many test shots, stopping down to f/18 without showing much improvement. The Sony 55-210mm exhibits the same problem. Both lenses exhibit excellent center sharpness, but both are soft at the edges. The image stabilization in both lenses is nothing short of remarkable.

Great online store, great camera!
I always have great experience purchasing in B&H. Awesome product at really low price. Performance, customization, image quality, fast AF, perfect size and weight are all super remarkable at a low price. My process flow changed. JPGs are reliable results, fast AF, options are great. Shooting is easy in M mode, just set your options right results are great. Set 3 memory settings and no need to waste time thinking of settings needed when shooting. Just set then shoot. shoot and shoot.

Fun camera!
I purchased this camera system for my husband who is a dedicated full-frame Nikon shooter. It gives him a system that he can hand-hold and take anywhere at any time due to how light weight it is. So far he has been using it to take photos of the dogs for me, but he sees it as a useful travel camera. Pros: Compact, portable, easy to hand hold, flexible & feature-rich for such a small camera Cons: Battery life is not long probably due to how many electronics the battery has to operate

truly amazing tech
I couldn't be happier so far. This is an amazing little camera. And you can't see in pics how small it actually is. There's a little bit of a learning curve because it does so much and has so many pages of menus, but it's pretty easy to navigate. Pics have been great but I've only had it for a short time so I can't comment more. All the things that have been said about it are true, for me anyway, and I look forward to learning all the things it is capable of. Great little camera.

Great Camera for Price and Size
This camera has been a nice transition from my Nikon entry level DSLR. It takes great photos, provides enough manual control, and is small enough to easily carry around. The menu functions are good once you get the hang of them, but I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the digital viewfinder. Although, that shouldn't really be a criticism. The autofocus and manual focus controls are good and quick. Overall this is a great camera with excellent photo quality due to the large sensor.

A functional fit for any
Having used larger SLRs for years in travel and as an elder amateur looking for good recorded memories, I have tested the a6000 as a replacement system. It is a great camera that offers all the flexibility in shooting that I desire as well as a superb lens and lightweight compactness that is equal to that of my current SLR system. Definitely more suitable to comfortable travel while maintaining the equivalent quality of photographic outcomes also at a much more reasonable cost.

A Great Lightweight Option For Optimal Pics & Vids
I'm a big Sony fan, but I wasn't sure about this one after using my dependable (and heftier) Sony Alpha a7 II as my go-to. Turns out the a6000 was more than up to the task. Great quality/resolution despite its smaller size and it was suprisingly nimble at capturing video too. The kit came with everything I needed, though I'd suggest you get an extra battery and card depending on how much you are planning to shoot. In my case (several high school graduations) it was quite a lot!

What a cool little camera
I bought an a6000 for a trip to Guatemala so I wouldn't have to take my big DSLR, and wasn't sure what to expect. I couldn't be more happy. It has some amazing functions (I mean, who doesn't want to do panos with the swipe of the arm?), and the menu system was a lot easier to pick up than I expected. Will it be a replacement for my Nikon D810s? No, but I've already used it in a business application - and when I just need a banging-around camera, this fits the bill nicely.

Lives up to great reviews
I picked the a6000 because I was tired of lugging around a big DSLR, especially since the whole mirror thing seems so old fashioned now. This little guy is a real beast in terms of power. The functions are pro-grade and image quality is really excellent. The focus is off the hook good. The only thing that's strange about it is that it's so small, traditionalists don't take it seriously. That's there problem though. They'll learn. THe battery goes pretty quickly. Must buy more.

Sony Alpha a6000 great buy for me
For years I've been carrying a small digital point and shoot camera on my overseas trips, principally because I didn't want the bulk and weight of a large professional grade camera. A recent trip to Mach Picchu convinced me that I just had to have a better camera, and the Sony mirrorless a6000 fit the bill perfectly. It's size is inconsequentially larger than the camera I've been carrying, but the quality of its pictures is a quantum leap ahead. This was a great buy for me.

Great ILC camera, BUT major shortcomings
Very good for spare vacation camera. Not as versatile as an SLR. Very limited lens availability, both from Sony and independents.Light weight, used with kit lens and the Sony E 55mm to 210mm zoom you have a reasonable amount of coverage Using the hot shoe adapter, you can use a Sony/Minolta flash, if you have one.I shot stage lit photos at a jazz concert using both lenses and was amazed by the results with the 55-210 at 6400 ISO set on intelligent auto.Virtually no noise!!

Great camera
I really like the fast autofocus and focus tracking. They work really well. It is so light compared to my DSLR. The color is acurate and rich. The frame speed is excellent and the resolution is great. So far the included lens seems fine. It is really packed with features and the WiFi works as described. I like that it becomes a hot-spot for my tablet to download pictures, and it offers some apps for some interesting things like Motion. It is really doing fine in low light.

Amazing Camera
I got this in advance of a big family trip - using it around town for the past two weeks to get accustomed to it, and impressed. Pros - Lightweight, compact, fits my grip well Pop-out screen actually pops out very easily, little resistance - was one of the features I thought I wouldn't use, but found I've been using it consistently Cons - The black does show fingerprints, I wish the white came in body only (I wasn't interested in the kit lens). Time between photos can lag

Definitely the Alpha camera on the block
I had been using a Cannon SLR for a number of years but found I was using my iPhone more often for pictures than my camera. A good friend recommended the a6000 so since we were going on a trip I decided to do so with a new camera. It has lived up to all expectations, ease of use, quality of output, technically challenging if one wants to be, and great support videos from B&H's library. Im in Europe for one more week, but the first week using the camera has been fantastic.

Amazing Camera!
Long time Sony fan - coming from a Sony Alpha a100, I heard lots of good things about this camera. I was a little put off by the looks of it (I know, of all things) because it kind of reminds me of one of those point and click cameras. However, this is anything but! The camera takes beautiful pictures even with the kit lens, and even better ones with the 55-210mm zoom. I love how light it is, and the 24megapixel sensor. For this price, I couldn't think of a better camera.

Amazingly fast autofocus
I currently own the a99, a7r, a77m2 as well as the a6000 and I shoot with the a6000 most often. I see some remarks about the battery drain - please put wifi on airplane mode and that will help a lot. The autofocus is the fastest and most intelligent I've yet seen. The viewfinder is not as nice as the other cameras, and I wish it had a sound port as well as a fully articulating screen. But it is so small, and so powerful. It is a very, very rewarding and fun camera to use.

Great lightweight, compact alternative to DSLR.
I have only ad this camera for a little over a week, so I haven't had a chance to really put it through its paces. However, I have found the controls simple and intuitive, at least for aperture, shutter speed and such. The menus are extensive (after all there are many features). My oterh camera is a Nikon D200, which is great, but too heavy and bulky to have on hand at all times. I am looking forward to trying a manual focus lens...if I could just try one before buying!

Powerful and compact
I bought the a6000 to take on a trip to Ireland, and didn't want to lug my SLR and heavy L lenses. I was thrilled with the results. The camera is so smart that I used P ( program) For 90%+ of my shots and got fantastic results. Occasionally I'd use the Auto HDR to punch up some bland landscapes, and it did the job without making the image cartoonish. My traveling companions were impressed by the results my pocket camera got. So was I. I'm sold on this incredible gadget.
