Works Well
Ive had this SSD for about a year now and it has been serving me well. I use it to edit video/photo projects straight from the drive via USB 3.0. Wires are very sturdy and have held up well, granted I havent been moving around with this SSD a lot. Four stars because going from Mac OS to Windows and vice versa is not an easy task to complete, unless you formatted it to read & write for both operating systems right when you got it.

Great expansion storage
My iMac internal 1 TB SSD drive was filling with pictures and I was becoming concerned about it's usage. For the better part of a year I have been using one of these stuck to the back of my Mac instead of the internal drive and I never know it is there. Using the short USB 3 cable for connection, it sure seems just as fast as the internal drive, handle 50MB RAW image files with lightening speed. I am one VERY happy customer.

Fast Fast Fast
Excellent device to move a ton of data from device to device. I get 300-500+ MB transfer speeds (USB3 or USB-C), 25 - 35 Mb on USB2. You only see the transfer speeds on large files since its so fast the smaller transfers are almost instant. The 500GB version has been on ridiculous sale lately. I now have 2. Very happy. As SSD prices keep dropping through the floor (or it seems) I will pick up the 1 or maybe 2 TB version.

Works fine
I bought this to do some video editing while travelling. Like most laptops, mine only has 512 GB internally, so not enough for a full 4K project. This drive hooked up to the USB 3 connection worked just fine. I was able to edit without any noticeable lag. I didn't load the whole project, so I don't know what it would be like on a really complicated timeline, but for my purposes (long format interview) it was excellent.

Top of the line.
I have used many different brands of HDDs and SSDs over the last 15 years and I can say without a doubt that I am very comfortable using the Samsung T5 line of SSDs. They are fast, reliable and have never let me down. I shoot and edit 80 SDE weddings a year and need a fast ssd to make editing as quick as possible and when the drive is full I can transfer all the data to a large storage drive with fast transfer speeds.

Fantastic
We use the Samsung T5s for local editing and moving projects from one editor to another. It's incredibly fast storage - using these and their 1TB counterpart - we can manage massive video projects and edit between multiple people quickly and efficiently. I would buy these if you need something to edit on externally that's very portable. For long term storage where speed isn't as important, there are cheaper options.

Samsung has beaten everyone.
1. This is an amazing bit of tech. Now I can just transfer what I need to an external storage device without a glich. I have bought 2 of these. For the Wife and I. 2. An amazing tool
Ive been using the T5 with a Pocket 4K for a little over a month. Its been flawless. The ability to have 500GB available without having to change cards is a great feature for a documentary filmmaker. Admittedly I keep an SD card in the slot just in case I get an error message (which some have reported), but I shoot ProRes, not raw, and after accumulating well over four hours of footage thats never happened...

4 Stars, You Must Be Thinking WHY? Well, I'll Tell You Why!
Weird Shipping was Weird. It said it would come one day from ordering. Then they pushed it back two days later. But I digress I don't give something Five Stars unless it is Perfect and I just got this thing. I will update you later. But it is pretty fast besides the fact that my Xbox One S doesn't have USB-C and is only as fast as the USB 3.0 Type A port allows. Still will update you later if I can.

Fast & Portable
This SSD is fast! As soon as it is plugged in the computer opens a window for it. Its snappy enough to edit photos very quickly and Im sure it would tackle video just fine. Its very small and I plan on traveling with it to back up my photo and video. It is great for keeping current projects, because it is so small and fast that it is always ready for whatever you throw at it. I highly recommend it!

Very Good
The price for large external SSDs got where I was willing to give it a try. I found that the drive is very fast. When it runs for a long time (e.g. transferring 1 Tb of photos) it does get pretty warm. For the most part under normal use it stays cool. I like the very compact size. You have to remember that it is not going to really sizzle speed wise unless it is connected to other fast devices.

Great SSD, as usual.
I end up buying Samsung SSD drives. I like that have color options, so I can differentiate different projects by drive color. The Samsung seem to be physically smaller and esthetically appealing than similar offerings from competing brands. They do not feel to hot, like another brand drive I have. Maybe it would be nice if they had a hole on the casing to secure them with a clip or lanyard.

A SOLID SSD
Got this when it was on sale from BH. Ordered the 500gb to take with me for travel video editing on my MacBook Pro. The write/read speed on this bad boy is INSANE! Its responsiveness is immediate and you can easily edit 4K footage directly off it. Feels a little flimsy as far as the plastic is concerned but just be careful with all of your electronics and dont drop it. Amazing little guy!

Much Smaller than other External SSD Drives
I have only had the 500GB version for a few days, but based on how the 250GB version has worked for me, I am happy with this drive. My laptop has a USB-C input, so the drive works well for me, although it also comes with a C to standard USB cable, so you can connect it to a standard USB input as well. Great for backing up photos when on the road, especially when space is at a premium.

Extend your MacBook Pro space
If you have a USB C port on your computer this is a must get! Compared to other usb 3.1 drives this is way faster. Note if you plan to use the Apple dongle to transfer files over 500gb it will take about an hour and if you buy a usb3.1 to usb C cable it will take about 35min for over 500gb if you use this drive usb c to usb c it will take 15 min to transfer over 500gb. Worth buying!

works well with Mac OS
I have two of these working with Mac OS and move them between my desktop and laptop without a hitch. I like the small size. The speed is decent. They are also big enough to mark with a sticker or a permanent marker. The supplied cords (x2 of them) are about 1'. Keep that in mind if that's an issue. Otherwise, the cords are robust. Not cheap. At least I don't think they're cheap.

Good drive, but buy a separate cable
I almost lost a huge lightroom catalog when I first started using this because the cable that came with it kept disconnecting and reconnecting during file writing operations. Fortunately I was saved because I backed everything up. I immediately threw out the cable that came with the drive and used another USB 3.1 Gen2 cable I had and I havent had any further trouble since then.

Better than expected
I been using standard SSD in external enclosures for a while. When I saw this product, I was interested as it's a one piece unit, not a drive in an exclosure. When it arrived I was blown away how small it is, half the size of an SSD, just as fast and light as a feather. Even the cable plugs in securely, much better that an external enclosure. Fast, reliable storage - the best!
These are great for fast storage of photos while traveling and they are so much more reliable than spinning disk hard drives. I use CaptureOne Pro for editing photos using my laptop while traveling and then finish the job on my desktop after returning home. Using "sessions" rather than catalogs in CaptureOne makes this seamless and these drives give fast performance.

I have been shooting for 60 years.
You know if you have been shooting as long as I have you have lots of photos to store. Even with lots of editing I still have over 100,000 images on my computer covering 60 years of shooting. I now have several of these Samsung SSD and they are perfect to back up and keep my images safe. They are small enough to put in the safe box at the bank for back up drives.

Easy to order, great product!
This is a great storage device. Small, fast with 3 USB speed, nice case ( costs extra), reasonably priced for 500 capacity, cable friendly... and B&H made it so easy. Called, they put on hold, picked it up in store a few hours later. Good choice of colors as I have more than one laptop and its easy to pair data.l by using different collars for different laptops.

A great drive for music storage
I use this drive to feed my Oppo Universal Player music files. I have been very surprised that the quality of the audio has improved using the SSD based drive over the previous mechanical based disk drive used. The drive is all that I expected it to be except that it was formatted under the exFat file system. The drive is much faster under the HPFS file system.

Super fast and simple to use.
This thing is super fast 430-480mb/s which is almost 100mb/s faster than other solid state media. Its bus powered, easy to mount with third party accessories, and their cheap enough to have a bunch in hand. No reason to ever run out of recording space on a shoot. What used to take 10 or 12 cards on a typical shoot. You can now have 1 or two of these. Fantastic!

Rock solid reliability
I purchased this for storage of my music recordings. I own a couple of the earlier T3 models and they are superb. Super fast access times. They are so fast I use them in real time for audio recording/processing. With no moving parts, they're almost bullet-proof. This is my first drive from the newer T5 generation but, I expect this one to be every bit as good.
