Works With Canon EOS 7D MKii DSLR

Jan 17, 2015

I can confirm that these microphones work properly with a Canon EOS 7D MKii DSLR without the need for any additional equipment. I've only recorded one very short test video, but even that was simply amazing. The surround sound effect is nothing short of incredible. I look forward to using these with my existing lenses that aren't STM, who's focusing mechanism would otherwise be audible if I only used the onboard microphone for videos on the DSLR.... Show More

Real good mic for it's application.

Oct 16, 2010

This is just perfect for recording people on their comfortable state. People don't like to see microphone, and actually, the headphones on this sounds great! Now, there is a little catch, you have to be careful when first connecting it because it gives background noise if the recording level is too high and headphone volume is too high. What's this type of recording good for? Birthday parties, and wedding. When you watch it again with headphones ... Show More

This thing is amazing

Dec 16, 2013

I recorded live performance of Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto, recorded Joe Satriani concert Impossible Momentum and Roger Waters - The Wall in Belgrade. The live recording from Roger Waters sounds much better than from O2 Arena. I just couldn't believe that it sounds so real. You feel the presence of all instruments. The sound engineer came to my studio and he was totally impressed by the sound quality of this recording and he didn't believe that al... Show More

Innovative but poor windscreen

Feb 17, 2016

These Mic/Ear are a nice product, for instance they are good to use when you are flying with a gimbal and you cannot use microphone. Also, they are extremely sensitive, which is typicalof binaural microphones. Roland provide windscreento cope with small wind and air flows due to your movementbut they are very poor, they easily get lost and at the endthis make this product really useless. I contacted Rolandto have substitutive windscreen and they replied they werenot in stock. After one year it's still the same. Plus, they cost$, which is just absurd for perhaps something worth 1 dollar.

Wonderful high end, boomy lower end

May 7, 2014

These binaural mics work great. It's wonderful that you can monitor as you record. The only downside I've seen is the low frequency response is extremely boomy. They are not very good for concert environments unless you want to do quite a bit of equalization. On the other hand they work great for binaural recordings in nature. (walks on the beach, forests, rainy nights)

Great idea but ....

Feb 8, 2011

I loved the idea of this product - mic and monitor all in one! However, it does not yield the best results ... Also, you really can't monitor and record at the same time because of the reverb effect. The sound of the earphones are also on the darker side and not very accurate ...

Great for creating 3D space through sound

May 16, 2016

Great product for easily creating 3D space through sound. Make sure the recorder can handle the dual mic input! One drawback -- the thin ear piece lines can melt if used directly next to a camera that gets heated (had an issue with a GoPro filming for a long duration).

Great recording

I'm using these headphone microphones with the Roland r09. They record fantastic audio, they don't fall out of your ears, and are simple to set up. The quality of the 3d experience is great.

Good fun

For the price these work, but the quality of the mics isn't superb. With a little EQ in post you can compensate and it's fine. Either way, the quality of these is pretty good.

Excellent

Great value! This is definitely the easiest way to get started in binaural recording. The best part is that nobody can tell you're recording!

Impressive sound!

Impressive sound, and they did not distort, even when recording live rock music in a small club.
