Great Camera for a novice
I am a novice photographer and purchased this to take some great candid's of my kids. Easy to use and the quality of the pictures is phenomenal. I can't speak for avid photographers but being a novice I love this camera. The filters are great and my pictures look professional.

Satisfied my nostalgia, minor improvements would help

Modern Old school camera
Ever since digital cameras became common, I had complained about difficult user interfaces compared to my old Canon AE-1. Yes, many modern point and shoots have fabulous features that old school SLRs never even dreamed of having, but just shooting in aperture priority or full manual (if this was even available at all) was basically a royal pain because of menu based controls. Great, expensive, complex, well built
This camera is very well built, feels solid and has very nice features as the full manual adjustments, which are fairly simple to operate. It is not a small camera, and it is somewhat heavy, won't fit your pants pocket, but would a jacket pocket. Outstanding camera
I've never been happier with a camera purchase. The lens is incredibly sharp, and when combined with the large sensor, tonal range is creamy and beautiful. Bokeh is on par with my 7D, so the LUMIX is a formitable alternative at half the size and cost. But it keeps getting better. Great things do come in small packages
For years I happily used a Nikon D80 with various lenses. I wanted a smaller camera to travel with. When I took my first photo with this little camera I was shocked at the clarity and beauty. I use this camera almost exclusively now. The only limitation is that I cannot zoom in on far away subjects -- but then the camera could not be so compact. This camera is a gem.

A nifty camera to have when you can't take your DSLR
I am a field ecologist photographing plants in the tropics; I carry a small camera when it's inconvenient (room in my pack) or risky (too rainy) to take my DSLR. We heard about the Panasonic cameras at a class at B&H. After the class we ran over to the counter and bought two of them. We plan on using these both for professional and personal use. More than I hoped it would be
I bought this camera to have something to throw in my bag when I travel for business. Packing lenses and carrying one or more larger DSLRs was a hassle on planes, at TSA, etc. The DMX-LX100 is small, flexible and offers enough of the features of my Nikon DSLRs to make it a viable substitute for a lot of street photography. I have been pleasantly surprised at how flexible and smart it is. I am very pleased with it so far.

I use this camera all the time since it is so small it can fit in my hand bag during the day so I am ready at all times. It is so light so I can just keep it without even thinking that I am lugging a camera around. What is great is the dials are super easy to change to manual. Leave the DSLR at home
I have had this camera for about a month and shot lots of stills with it and some 4k video. what impresses me the most is the beautiful shallow depth of field you're able to capture with the lens. also, in Grand Panasonic tradition, it crushes the blacks. you get wonderful chunky contrast and lots of depth. focus is super fast so even with action shots it will fire off singles as fast as you can push the button. The LX100 serves me as a compact camera for street video & photography, and time lapse. I use it with a Axler Robin 05r stabilizer which both together weigh less than 2 Lbs. What I like about the LX100: The Leica integrated fast zoom lens with the Micro 4:3 sensor. It produces great image quality across the image and zoom range, and has extended digital zoom to 300mm. I'm digging it!
Nice, light weight camera. It has the first view-screen that I've been able to use outdoors in bright light. I shoot models, the camera is quick, does well in available light situations I do hit the buffer shooting in burst mode on occasion, But it doesn't hold me up very long. It does things, that I don't know what it means!? The tiny flash is surprisingly useful. I know we're not supposed to say this, but the i setting does things that I can't. It's a little pricey. It should have more zoom range and/or a flexible viewing option, but I like it!

After being on the fence for months about this camera I finally pulled the trigger and ordered it. I purchased this camera to fill in for my d610 when I don't want to carry something so bulky around. The build and image quality of this camera are both top of the line. The camera's all-metal construction is solid, feels great in the hand, and reassures me that it is built to last. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100 Evaluation
Ihavent had time to explore the fullrange of features in my LX100, but I like what Ive tried. I have an LX3 and an LX7. Iadded the EVF to the LX7. On the LX100 I miss the review switch on the LX3 that eliminates turning the lens on first to view pictures. I miss the editing I can do on the LX7 with the filters onpictures already taken. I also miss the swivel feature on my LX7 EVF. I am very pleased with my picture quality and motion picture excellence. I am glad Ipurchased the LX100. Patrick Green

This is nearest camera to a 60's Leica that I have found. Considering its small size it's great to handle - with a nice little finger grip. The good top mounted controls for shutter and compensation and an aperture ring are really retro but superbly ergonomic and functional. Best in class
The best camera in the class. Low light capability is stunning, excellent menus. I compared it side by side with the Sony RX100 Mk3 and the LX100 is simply fantastic for the price. The lens is VERY good, but could hit the 90mm equiv.

The best Camera I ever had
This camera is the best camera I ever had. I'am a wedding videographer and I been using my new baby on 3 wedding already and the image quality is amazing more then amazing. I will recommend this camera to everybody. I love it. The best 4k available out there better then the Blackmagic 4k camera
