Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens (Silver)

Fantastic, versatile camera worth investing in.
I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. I have had the Panasonic Lumix G7 for a little bit now and it is truly and amazing camera. I do food and travel photography and I am a mom so I take a lot of family photos as well. I have had other cameras in the past that have had a huge learning curve that can be difficult for beginners, but the Panasonic Lumix G7 is incredibly user friendly and at the same time offers tons of opt... This camera should recibe much more love
I was a canon shooter for years, I thought canon was the bestest ever, and didnt even tried another brands, but when I had to start recording at 4k, the 5dm4 was the only choice, but it was expensive and reviews said the 4k on that camera was bad...really bad, so I bought this as a quick option, and fell in love, the menus, the handling, everything was much much better, even to low light was much better than my canon 70D, so I discovered a great ... Fantastic for 4K Video, Okay for Photos
I was torn between buying a prosumer APS-C sized sensor camera or sticking with my past experience with micro four thirds sensors (I have owned an LX100 in the past) along with an FZ300 (lovely zoom). The price was right so I was able to pick one up from B&H. Fast shipping, came well packaged and ready to shoot. Don't let the plastic construction fool you, this plastic is tough and resilient and it really helps the weight, and trust photographers... Show More

Great for summer family outings!
I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. I've owned a few LUMIX cameras so I was eager to try the LUMIX G7 for summer outings. Boy, was I blown away. Summer's a time when my family's on the go and the kids are constantly in motion. As a photography enthusiast, I'm big on capturing memories, but at almost 9 months pregnant, I no longer feel like lugging around my big bodied DSLR. I love that the LUMIX G7 is lightweight, but... Great value!
I have 3 G7s that I use pretty much exclusively for video. Im an audio professional just getting my feet wet in video and I do like these cameras very much. I find them extremely intuitive as well as flexible. The progressive shot video is a great feature - Im able to pull stills that are better than I would get from a pro still photographer. Th body is small and light and thats definitely a plus. My only warning is that the 45-150 lens is not ... Show More

Great Camera for Stills & Video...at an even better price!
After quite a bit of research, I purchased this as a backup video camera for my son's recent trip to Uganda. He ended up using this as his main camera and is so thrilled with the results he achieved that he plans on selling his Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera so he can have two G7's for video use. Don't let the price fool you...this is a fantastic camera! It also takes great still photos! (This camera does both functions VERY well!) In fact, he ... Show More

Small in Size, Big in Quality
Disclaimer: I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. When you pick up the Panasonic Lumix G7 the first thing you may notice is the weight of the camera. It is lightweight with a sleek design making it perfect for carrying along on trips or day outings. But that is only one great feature of the Lumix. Where you really find a big difference is once you start shooting with it. With three different 4K shooting modes (4K Burst,... Show More

Great Middle Ground Between DSLR and Point & Shoot
I have experience using both DSLR and point-and-shoot cameras for both personal and business use. But what I have been looking for is a camera that brings the best of both worlds together. I want something that is lightweight and more compact that my larger DSLR but that can produce high quality images. I've had the LUMIX G7 for a few weeks and so far it has fit the bill perfectly! Perfect action shot every time!
After feeling like I had mastered my entry level DSLR, I started researching my options for an upgrade. During my search I came across the new mirrorless technology and was instantly intrigued. Having the functionality of a DSLR but with a much more lightweight and smaller body really appealed to me. The mirrorless technology was what originally got me interested, but the 4K photo and video are what finally sold me on this camera! That, and the i... Show More

4K on the low; some drawbacks
I purchased this camera as a secondary camera for video, as well as to build my lens array for a future GH4 (or GH5) purchase. The best way to make use of this camera's video mode is to shoot in 4K, even if delivering at 1080. Reason being the 100mbps bitrate and the extra resolution are a significant improvement over the 1080 shooting mode which I believe tops at 24 or 28mbps. Quality lighting will make this difference less dramatic, but the ext... Show More

Replacement Camera
Looking to replace my aging Nikon D300 with a full framer or a mirror-less camera, I did tons of research. As an advanced amateur, going full frame would prove costly when considering pro cameras and lenses. New technology prompted a thorough research of all mirror-less cameras and lenses currently offered. There is much to be said about new mirror-less advances, new features, comfort and ease of use. Equally, much can be said defending full fram... Show More

Excellent camera for video and price
I am a pro cinematographer. I also own the big brother version the GH4. This is a full featured camera of almost the same functionality of the GH4 which I used for certain commercial shoot and independent films. It is compact and very capable. If Panasonic only updates the firmware so that the HDMI, which already can output clean 8-bit 4.2.0, can be used with a monitor or recorder like the Atomos or BlackMagic Video Assist, this will definitely b... Almost perfect
The portability, versatility and image quality of the G7 with the 14-140mm lens is amazing. I really enjoy having a camera of this quality that is so easy to take along. Just a couple of minor issues. One is the lens which is constantly making a low level noise. I thought there was something wrong until I read in the troubleshoot section that the noise is normal. (After a while you do get used to it.) I was a little disappointed to find out that ... Show More

great camera to get into photography/videography
I got this camera 2 months ago as a first ILC camera and first micro four thirds. I have been very impressed with the image results even with just the kit lens. Nice for the Price
I come from a broadcasting background, and I I still getting use to the photo camera as a video camera idea. I have been shooting with a Sony Alpha77 for a month or two, and the Sony was great for photos, and ok for video. I plan to use this for video primarily. This camera will take some adjustment because of the small size. I have ordered smaller follow focus gear rings so I can use it on the motorized zoom/focus rig. I find it quick and easier... Dont be fooled by the price, this is an excellent 4k camera
Don't be fooled by the price, the G7 while set at a much lower price point than its bigger brother the GH4, delivers excellent quality video. Footage straight out of this camera readily matches that of the GH4. It may not have all of the bells and whistles of the GH4 but it has over 90% of the features. The main thing that I am impressed by is the fact that the low light performance is much better than that of the GH4. You can get almost 2 stops ... Show More

Great upgrade from T3i
I have been shooting local/regional commercials & videos with a T3i for the past few years and this little G7 is a welcome change. It really is noticeably smaller than my Canon. Any smaller might be a problem. I jumped in the deep end and shot my first project with the G7 after playing around with it at home for just a few days. Even using the kit lens, shooting at 1080p, I'm seeing more dynamic range and resolution than my old Rebel. Programable... Show More
