I practiced with it before going to Chile. I loved it. On day 5 of trip, the zoom froze and I could not get Camera to work. Seems optical system shifted as it is no longer centered in lens. Now using a Point and shoot pocket camera to take pictures of a lifetime. Hoping B&H will replace this defective camera, so I have it functional for future travels. unhappy me

Great Camera
The best bridge camera that I ever owned in fact it may be the best camera that I ever owned I love the flexibility after 900 photos I am getting to know it and loving every minute of using this camera Since 2000 I have owned a few great ones Olympus Nikon 5700 D70 D70s Panasonic fz 18 D90 I just sold it Sony Hv100 and Cannon sx50 witch I'm also keeping

Just right for me
This is a great bridge camera. I do not want to tote a bag full of lenses. It has the fully articulated screen that I would never do without and a very good viewfinder. It has manual focus - essential for the eclipse. I'm in the process of working out exposure bracketing. I got excellent help on the phone from B&H staff when picking this camera.

Exceeded my Expectations!
Great everyday use, family, vacation, does it all! Love the fact that it can do everything in one unit, the only camera, my camera bag just got a lot smaller and lighter. Very fast focus and incredibly very bright lense and the stabilization is just amazing, hand held photos at full digital zoom (1600mm,35mm equivalent) come out crystal clear.

Re-entering photography
This my first camera in many many years wanting to get back into doing a little photography again. Not knowing exactly whether I wanted an interchangeable lens camera or a Mega Zoom. Finally decided on the FZ1000 as my re-entry point. So far I have not been disappointed, but I'm still learning as there are many new functions and features.

Love the photos
I can't believe how good the detail is on the photos. I was looking for a lighter weight camera to carry on certain trips to the zoo but expected to loose the sharpness of my other DSLR camera. Pics of course are not as good but for being able to double the zoom from 400mm to 800mm can be worth the trade off in some shots.

Awesome Camera!
We purchased this camera mainly to do short videos. The picture quality is awesome! We are very pleased! Seems well built and solid. We also liked dealing with B&H. Excellent company. I had many questions before purchasing and the team was very knowledgeable in helping me make my final decision. You cant go wrong with B&H!

Great camea at a bargain price ...
This camera fills all my needs even though it is a four-year-old camera. I haven't used it very much though. Any additional information I will post later, but so far so good. it will take quite some time to use all the features or at least try them out. Most if not all, of the reviews I read before purchase were positive.

Best compromise between DSLR and Mirrorless
When I first left my Canon gear behind, I bought the Sony RX10-IV at about $1800, but the menus were a pain, so I sold it and went back to my Canon stuff. Then I heard about the Lumix FZ1000. The menus are far easier to learn/understand than the Sony's and the image quality seems equally as good at about 1/3 the price.

Excelent, more that you can spect
The best bridge cammera , i had an fx-100. But with this one you see the diference. Excelents pictures, the new sensor size make a diference with amazing shots. Movies in 4k. And wifi to transfer pictores to your tablet or cellphone at the moment. The application to manage all cammera functins from the cell. Its great.

Great camera but invest in a filter!
Just received the FZ1000 about 2 hours ago and shot some tests. Clearly, it's going to be a great camera! But do yourself a favor: If you want rich color, good contrast, and lovely puffy clouds, invest in a polarizing filter. I ordered the Hoya Pro1 Circular PL and trust me, it makes a huge difference. Really excellent camera
This camera was a gift. It is super-customizable so we are still experimenting with all the features. It takes superior portraits and fast, clear wildlife photos and so many other things! If only it had touchscreen and a zoom that would operate during stills shooting it would be nearly perfect. Really worth the money.

Nice digital camera
I only just received this and have yet to fully put it through it's paces, but so far I like what I see. Images are crisp and the camera handles well. Controls are in logical places. All in all I believe I will enjoy this camera - especially for those times when it is nice to just let the camera do most of the work.

Great camera for the price
I bought this camera back in 2014 but it died. I liked it so much that I bought it again. Cant imagine that the Sony is more than 2x better which is how much more it costs. I use it for everything from bugs to birds to landscapes when on vacation. Don't think there is a better camera value for the price I paid. t

Great Camera!
I bought this as a point and shoot to take to Scotland along with my Nikon DSLR.....after playing with it, I'm tempted to leave the 'bigger' camera at home and just take this one. Apparently not great in low light, but I haven't tried that yet. Everything can be set to manual or auto.....Leica lens, and great feel.

Love my camera!!!
The quality of the shots I have taken on auto focus are great. But to get to the next level, I will have to take a class. Manual reading has never been one of my strengths. I look forward to learning everything possible as soon as possible. Any suggestions of where I should take a class would be helpful. Thank U.

I'm in love with this camera
Just got this and haven't had much of a chance to use it but so far the pictures and video are amazing. I'm the most unskilled photographer I know and this camera even makes me look good. LOVE IT. Was going to get a GH$ but now I'm not sure if I won't just get another one of these so I have two for video shoots.

I love this camera
My previous camera was a Panasonic Lumix DMC - FZ200 and I was very happy with it. I used it primarily for work projects and photographing animals for the local shelter. When it came time to upgrade to a camera with more zoom capability and better video, I opted for this model - and I couldn't be more pleased.

Hard on battery
The camera is used mainly for travel, hiking, and pet photos. I get great shots, but the battery drains really fast. I also have a Canon 7D, and that bettery seems to last forever, hundreds of photos, but the Panasonic seems to eat batteries, so be sure to purchase an extra if you dont want to be caught short.

1 Sensor Provides Superior Images
Helps to be a computer-geek:.complicated but very thorough menu with wide variety of features, controls and options! Be prepared for a long learning curve. Not as big a zoom range as some competitors, but the larger sensor more than outweighs the zoom range if you're looking for superior, high-quality images.

I love this camera!
I now own two of these beautiful cameras and I love them! Price is right and amazing features allow me to capture 4K UHD for my video business. Very versatile camera with easy to use features. I would like to see an audio out, as the tiny speaker makes it difficult to quality check playback in the field.

A higher quality travel companion
I consider this camera a good tool for mountain climbing trips where SLR's with several lenses are either too heavy and slow - or just simply not practical. I like simultaneous file formats JPEG/RAW, but wish it would have a programmable, custom function self timer or a program for radio remote control.

Great alllaround camera
The FZ 1000 isa terrifricf all around camera. The focus is fast and accurate, and it is quite good as high ISO. I am not as impressed with the macro focusing, but these all in one cameras can not do everything. The video quality is exceptional. I was also suprised at how quickly the battery drained.

Great all around shooter
I bought this camera to replace a full on SLR which was: too heavy, too complicated, and most importantly my wife didn't like it. Other than a true through the lens view, this camera offers everything the other one did and its auto mode takes great pictures if you don't want to fiddle with settings.
