I bought this for my AG-HMC150, and it is awesome. In loud environments (like a wedding), it is still possible to hear what people are saying in front of the camera. It can handle a very loud SPL. I recommend it. The only downside is it is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

The AG-MC200G is a superb on-camera microphone. It is very directional and allows focusing in on conversations with minimal side pick-up. I have used it primarily in wedding applications, where noice is always prevalent. It works well for reception audio and even in interview applications when boom mounted. The windscreen is very effective in outdoor environments and it is very sensitive. Use the manual camera settings for best results as automatic gain can lead to distortion.

This mic is a perfect match for my HVX-200. Mounts on the camera nicely, with furnished hardware from the camera. I found the sound quality excellent for field use, and works nicely on a boom as well. Perhaps its only weakness is the isolation mounting when on the camera. The camera mounting is nice, but if I touch the mic, the isolation rubber feels loose. This minor quibble aside, the mic is an excellent choice for the HVX series cameras, or any other camera that can supply phantom voltage and an XLR connection.
I like the look.

This mic is okay, but I think it's over priced. I've used cheaper mics that do a better job than what this does. It doesnt seem to be able to pick up sound from a reasonable distance compared to other one's I've used.

I use this mic to shoot adventure and sports documentaries as well as commercials. It works better outdoors than indoors, however, as it picks up a lot of sound (including and not limited to very very low electrical sounds at times). This just means you have to play with levels a bit or directionality. Overall, very powerful and especially good with a wind jammer on.

Is the AG-MC200G best on camera mic I have every used? No. But it does a pretty good job. The thing I really like is that it fits perfectly into the Panasonic AG-DVX200 camera mount which leaves the cold shoe and other mounts open for other accessories. I have seen other people use a Sennheiser with the DVX and stuff a bunch of foam around it to work with the camera's mount. And I have seen mics mounted to the camera cold shoe. I use the mic on a Panasonic AF-100 For automotive events, interviews and shorts... Plug n play, with easy adjustments while on the AF-100 Very simple to run the wire, mount the mic and first recording was right on point.. Cable was a hair long for my use, but I just looped it once around a Sony Wireless Mic pack mounted on the side of the camera and into the XLR input, ad that worked well.

I use it on my HPX300 and get great results. Small yet very good directional capabilities. I would recommend this product.

I find the sound quality on this mic is very similar to the Rode VideoMic Pro. I would say save some money and get the Rode mic unless you need this Panasonic one specifically for the XLR input.

I used It as a back up on a Short Film and It was really helpful. Audio operator always has issues on the rush, So we gave it (audio channel to editing suite and costumer appreciate it, they said thank you so many times I think I did a good job!

Bought this mic to go along with the Panasonic HMC-150 AVCCAM. Needless to say the mic works great. Much better that the onboard mic on the camcorder.
