They have built-in batteries and need charging every once in a while. The sound is great and at the price you would think that that the black leatherette on the cans and head band would be a better grade. After a little over a year it is peeling and sticking to your skin. Going to their website does no good. They have a two year guarantee but not for the leatherette.
