Just what I was looking for

Aug 27, 2015

I wanted a more compact system than my Nikon D750 for when I hike or travel and know I'll be walking around all day, AND I wanted a camera that produced good images. Being a Nikon shooter I tried a V2 but the image quality wasn't what I was after. The Olympus OM-D EM-5 is just what I was looking for. With prime lenses it is a very good camera and produces insanely sharp images with good color and contrast. Again, not like my D750, but I didn't ex... Show More

Decent image quality but horrible reliability. Don't buy

Dec 2, 2015

I purchased this camera in March 2015. My primary use is for leisure and I wanted something light for taking pictures when on trips. I am not a professional photographer but do take a lot of pictures. This camera has been nothing but bad news for me. I had to send it for repairs two times in 8 months. The first time was in June when I was on a outdoor trip with my family in Texas. The camera was working fine and I just flipped the screen out to t... Show More

Great Camera for an old film guy

Apr 5, 2017

Im an old Nikon film guy that is just getting back into photography after many years of abstinence. I've tried point and shoot digital cameras and of course the IPhone but have not found anything that meets my needs for flexibility and image quality. I still do a lot of outdoor activity but weight and bulk have become much more important. I needed something that could withstand the elements and have the flexibility to shoot close as well as lands... Show More

Just the system I was looking for

Aug 29, 2015

My main camera is a Nikon D750, and that system with the various lenses I use can be pretty heavy. I was looking for a compact, lightweight system for hiking, street photography and travel and this camera is just the ticket. This body with 3 prime lenses (25mm, 45mm and 75mm) in a small Lowepro daypack weighs nothing. The image stabilization is superb and the image quality with the prime lenses, especially the Olympus 25 mm f/1.8, is outstanding ... Show More

EXCELLENT!

Having worked with Canon DSLR Full Frame and lower range cameras, i was a bit weary purchasing this machine. I have to admit though - it SERIOUSLY competes with the higher end cameras out there! it is an AMAZING machine at relatively low budget! the only issue that you will have with this machine (if you have experience working with Canon dSLR's is getting used to a few of its settings! some fundamental differences between canon machines. Best Camera Upgrade

Jan 18, 2016

This camera, the Olympus O-MD E-M5 II, is a major upgrade for me, with my former camera being the, Olympus E-PL5, a very good camera, too. I haven't had the E-M5 II very long, but since I already had an Olympus E-PL5, I was very familiar, for the most part, with the menu system and other functions. For me, the E-M5 II's IS (Image Stabilizing) mechanism was a huge factor in deciding on this camera. The ability to be able to capture images in lower... Show More

Fantastic little camera

Jan 8, 2016

I've had this camera for about a month and half now and I am very pleased with its performance. Image stabilization is outstanding. Great EVF. Good video performance, not 4K, but still good. Image quality is excellent for a micro 4/3 sensor. Easily surpassing many cameras with larger sensors. As far as other people complaining about its high ISO performance, I found I can get very nice 8x10's at ISO 10,000 if you process from the raw file. I incl... Show More

So Excellent

Apr 15, 2015

57 yo male of average size and 35 years experience in general-purpose hobby SLR photography. For me, this camera is delightful. Previous camera was a Panasonic GX7, another excellent camera that I can recommend wholeheartedly. I made the shift partly for the 64 MP mode (absolutely not a gimmick, it astounds), partly for the next-gen image stabilization (the GX7 does not IS the viewfinder image for still photography or provide any IS for video, an... Secret weapon of pro photo and video shooters

Mar 20, 2016

This camera does so many things right. There is probably more technology packed into its tiny body than anything else this size that's every been made. While you can set it in iAuto mode and snap away, and it has all the trendy art settings and such, this to me is a pro's machine, with more options than you will ever use. I bought it for use a small, stabilized platform to shoot video with. With a good selection of lenses (or even one high qualit... Show More

got my love back

Jan 10, 2016

I am a semi-retired pro photographer. When everything went digital I reluctantly sold my beloved OM-D film camera systems and started using a Canon EOS 7D. I recently had to evacuate during the California Valley fire and decided not to take the insured camera which shows you how much I valued that particular camera. Unless you are purchasing the top of the line cameras from Canon or Nikon you are forced to accept compromised equipment. I never ge... Show More

Returned for an exchange after 2 hours

Mar 13, 2015

So I got the new OM-D E-M5 Mk2 in the mail today and opened it right away. It's an upgrade from my already awesome E-M10. After taking a few photos, I noticed that there's a blue colored hot pixel on the LCD smack right in the middle. It's mostly noticeable in dark areas especially when turning the camera on while the lens cap is still on. I thought it was just a hot pixel on the LCD but when I zoomed in 100% on the actual image playback you can ... Show More

Amazing Camera

I bought this camera to take reference photos for my art projects. After using it for about 2 weeks, I can happily say that it's even better than I was hoping for. I will never have to squint or try to figure out what is going on in a reference photo ever again. What is amazing is that I am also getting interested in photography itself. I am able to take great photos in the iauto mode and the SCN modes but am looking forward to learning more abou... Show More

Don't be surprised

Aug 30, 2017

Don't be surprised if this camera does not work for you..size wise. I thought I could get comfortable using it with the grip but it just was too uncomfortable. With the grip, and depending on the size of your hand, the bottom right of it has a sharp 90 degree angle that will penetrate into the palm of your hand. the top right strap connector will also be int he way of your right index finger. This may not seem like too much but use it throughout ... Show More

Good, but not great

Dec 19, 2016

upgraded my E-M5 to the MK II about a year ago and have been using it most of the time. I have found that the fly-out screen is less useful than the tilt screen on the original E-M5 and is often in the way. Were that the only issue I would probably give it five stars, but the control set is fairly baroque. I have managed to map the buttons into a somewhat useful configuration, but that has taken time and effort, along with many trial runs. The hi... Show More

I bought this kit because I simply wanted everything I needed in the way of lenses for the OMD micro 4/3 cameras in one bag so to speak. I've used all of these lenses, each lens is sharp, fast, and easy to use. As with any zoom lenses, there are some trade-offs, so far, from what I have observed, these trade-offs are minimal considering the quality of these lenses. The camera, OMD-EM5 Mark II, is a significant improvement over the original EM5, a... Show More

Great Camera but beware of using UHS II cards

This is a pretty great little camera once you get to know it. The major issue I had is that it corrupted a Lexar 1000x UHS II card, losing an afternoon's material for a client shoot.
