Listening experience: a simplified Justin Bieber tune (Yummy) to Depeche Mode (Cover Me) to Tchaikovsky (1812 Overture) to my own music production - these headphones have such clarity, accuracy, from the deepest lows to the highest highs - all purchasers of these headphones need to listen to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, the entire piece - the spontaneous lows to the highest highs, the headphones are stable. Preferably, these headphones need to be run through a board, once this is done, Beyerdynamic provides an excellent experience to create the finest mixes. I also have the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250-ohm headphones and I must admit, the clarity is more exact on the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones. Any sound around will literally vanish, all which is heard is whatever is run through the headphones. The headband is a little tight but in time, this will work itself out. German craftmanship cannot be beat. It's a known fact. And Beyerdynamic lives up to such high standards. These headphones, the manufactured suggested retail price is $279.00, I bought the headphones for $179.00 - these headphones ought to have a MSRP of $500.00, that's how good these are. Years back, I owned a pair of AKG K712 Pro Open-back Mastering headphones (which at the time, I bought for a little over $600.00), to be quite brazen: the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250- ohm sound better. There is absolutely no reason or justification NOT to purchase these headphones. If you're serious about mixing a song, these are the headphones for you! There is a reason why the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO headphones have been the studio standard for so many years. Both the sound and the comfort are exceptional. Outside of a tiny bump around the 60 - 100Hz range, these are flat, allowing true representation of the audio. With these, flat doesn't mean boring though. The highs are crisp and clean and the lows are warm and fat. The headband is light and the soft padding on the ear cups make these phones comfortable on the head for long periods of time. The closed back, full around-the-ear design does a great job removing external noise. If I was forced to find one thing to nit pick about with these phones, it would be the metal arms that hold the ear cups. They are a bit clunky compared to the rest of the apparatus. But it is a nit so minor I only mention it because I was forced to. Ok, now hand them back to me! ... More

After reading somewhere that my go-to 'phones, the Sony MDR-7506, were the "Toyota Corolla" of headphones, and that the DT770 Pro is the shizz, I decided to try a pair of DT 770s. Perhaps my expectations were set too high, but I was really disappointed. I found their sound to be unclear through the upper mids - 1.5k-2.5k - and boxy in the 400hz region. They were really unflattering to electric guitar (my main instrument) because they pushed the woofy freqs and muted the clarity and shrang. By contrast, my "Corollas" had deeper, clearer lows, neutral mids, and crisp 1.5k-2.5ks. I should say that the DT770s are very comfortable and very well made. Obviously, just one man's opinion here - but I ended up returning the DT770s because as much as I wanted to like them, I just couldn't get behind the sound. ... More

I've owned two pairs of these. The first pair didn't break, rather stolen so I had to buy a new one. I didn't think twice about buying a different unit. The headphones themselves fit well around the ear with comfortable padding and sturdy head band. I like mixing on these, and listening to records—tracking, not so much, mainly because I like to monitor LOUD. The cord is long enough for any application, and usually comes with an 1/8" to 1/4" adaptor. I wouldn't say these are flat in response, there is a little hump in the lower mids and upper highs to my ear. I love the way they sound. Listen to a pair of Beats in comparison. Save your money and wait up to buy these headphones. I have the ISK HD9999, the CAD MH310, and the KRK 6400. These are still give me the best detailed sound for editing. I can also differentiate sounds better with these headphones. You can order extra/different pads for isolation or comfort from China for $10.

Probably one of the best headphones I've ever used for tracking. And honestly mixing with them is also pretty good too. But not so good for every day listening. Like gtaking them with you to listen to your music on your iPod. This are definitely now one of my main recording and mixing headphones. I'll soon be buying another to have 2. Can't go wrong with 2 lol.
