LD Systems HPA 4
MPN's:
Does what it says on the box.
The amp seems well built. It's metal, the knobs have a sturdy and smooth feel. The volume achieved is also very good. I have never had to turn it beyond half way for use with headphones (source: turntable). I like that its quite small aswell so it never gets in the way. I have bought this amp to use with my turntable. The fact that it has 4 channels really helps as more than one person can listen to it with different headphones. Also, my stereo system only has a 3.5 mm input so with an adapter from 1/4 inch to 3.5 mm so I can connect the turntable to my stereo.

Bang for a buck
Really good value for money, simple as that. Sound was full and present. I use it mainly for expanding my headphone output when recording multiple people. Might not be 1st choice if you just want a headphone amp for clarity/mixing/hi-fi listening. Felt like my Saffire pro 24 headphone output had more presence in the low-mid range.

It does the job.
I use it with headphones and with my E-Drums and it works great. It enhances the signal significantly even a little bit too much. It meets my expectations. Besides it has a robust casing and four adjustable headphone outputs. A little con is a lack of on/off switch.

Has no ON/OFF switch
It does what it should, but is missing a ON/OFF switch, so everytime after using this you have to unplug it. Very uncomfortable.

Great for Team Projects
This HPA 4 is an inexpensive, robust and simple to use amplifier/singal splitter perfect for multi use production and band practise. I have been using it with my focusrite at my home studio and also at practise with the band straight from our mixing table, now four of us can use headphones at the same time and simultaneously listen to each other , adds a great dynamic to our practises . If you are using this to produce/master music , keep an eye on your volume levels on your DAW as it does boost the loudness signifcantly. a very handy tool.

Small and useful preamp
I use it on FM station because our mixing desk doesn't have headphone amplifier. The sound is very good, very loud even with most "hungry" headphones. I use another on live stage with the band for "in ear" monitoring for keyboard player, also very good. I have positive experience with other LD products as well.

Does what it's supposed to do, and very well
I bought this because my latest headphones have a high impedance and so the sound output was a bit low. Now I can hear every detail when mixing or just sit back and relax to some music. Awesome loud output with pratically no noise, even with cheap cables.

Sturdy
Sturdy amp and really well built. Almost no noise. The only con is that there is no turn on/off button, so once power is plugged on it's forever on.

Handy
First item arrived with a loose screw inside, but was quickly replaced by Thomann. Second item arrived in perfect condition. Small but very solid and useful piece of equipment for a light price. Works fine, it has enough power to rehearse your instrument silently with no need for any extra amplification. A little minus about the 'mono' switch, which would supposedly turn the input into a mono one, but it does not seem to accept mono inputs...... Show More
