Great Computer at Reasonable Price
I finally upgraded from my 2004 Mac Mini due to my OS no longer being supported and an increasing number of functions taken away from me over the years. The new Mac Mini seems to be great. I hope it lasts as long and works as well as my old one (which I hate to see go).

Less is not more
1) No more SD Card Reader. I dont know about others, but I use lots of them, and I need to read them into my machine. External adapters/readers are a pain. 2) Fewer USB ports. Who needs 4 Thunderbolt ports? Theres nothing to hook up to them. And if you do have more, you can daisy-chain them. I need USB ports. Almost Everything I have runs on it. Fast!
Much faster than my old Mac Mini. So far, no problems at all. I use mine as my main computer attached to the large screen in the front room to watch streaming videos. I also do 3D modeling, and graphic card speeds are fine but compute of the final image is much faster. Now to get my hard drives upgraded to the new faster interfaces, all from B&H of course!

I had a 2011 Mac Mini and was very pleased with it over the years. I was so happy when Apple announced the refreshed Mac Mini 2018. The system works perfectly, and performs very well. Definitely recommend it

Wait on buying
Apple has a few bugs to work out. 1. the can not remote trouble shoot your new mac mini the pushes end up going to your old mac mini. 2. the mac mini (new) will not allow you to format the drive. the recommended cure to fix Number 1. 3. Mac Mini 2018 - Two Thumbs Up
After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Apple finally rolled out a pro grade replacement for my 2012 MacMini. My 6 year old Mini is still in excellent working order but could not handle the rigors of 4K video editing. I bought a fully loaded model new Mini and replaced my wifes desktop with the Mini I had. Very disappointed
Difficult set-up, transfer of documents and data could not be completed. My 4 most important applications will not run on it. To use them, I will have to spend more than I did for the computer. Definitely considering returning it tomorrow.

Big monster in small box but..
Big monster in small package is the definition of this setup. The top of the processors is one of the most powerful now in the mac line , more powerful than almost all mac pro, all macbook pro and the rest. Just one mac pro and all the imac pro go faster than this small machine. But the lack of space make not possible put a good graphic card inside. Fast, but has issues
I replaced an older Mac Mini with this one. #1 purpose of the machine was to remote in via Chrome Remote Desktop and work from the field. For some reason (T2 security chip? OS block?) that is not possible on this Mac. #2 purpose was to run a media center. Mojave OS disables native volume control when connecting via HDMI. No more volume control via my media center keyboard, phone, etc like the old machine. So I wasted $1K, lost a bunch of capability, and I still need to run my old machine to do what I need it to do.

The Apple Mac mini (Late 2018) is a Great Performer!
I have had a Mac mini (Mid 2011) for 7 years and has been a reliable work horse. Unfortunately, Apple decided not to support that vintage anymore with later OS versions. The new Mac mini that I ordered contains an 8th generation I5 processor, 16 G ram and 512 G storage. This configuration is super fast as I run Linux and Windows 10 concurrently with OSX. I would recommend this to my family and friends.

It works
Im just your average desktop user who needed to replace his old mini. New one works well, B&H did their usual fine work shipping it to me, Pa wasnt added to the collect list so that was a plus, transferred everything from old to new mini and everything worked, no muss, no fuss. What more can you want!

Nice and quiet
Even with an eGPU and a Sapphire 580. If you get one, I recommend the Sonnet 350 watt eGPU. People complain that it messes with the small size of the mini but it sits on the floor. Too bad the longer TB3 cable is $50. Otherwise, you could be out the door for $400 for the eGPU and a good graphics card. External Disks automatically Eject improperly : (
The Mac mini is (2018) s everything I needed except one major flaw. Like many Mac mini owners, I need to use the external ports (thunderbolt 3 and USB) to connect external storage drives. Macs randomly eject external drives and Ive experienced it with multiple drives, different manufacturers, on both port types (TB3/SB), with multiple cables. Perfect for audio editing. Buy the RAM separate if you are willing to upgrade it yourself. If you intend to use graphic intensive applications, then you would need to invest in an EGPU, or something else that suits your needs.

Sleek, smooth, highly recommended!
Aesthetics, wise, its great! Stays cool to the touch. MacOS rules. Love the port selection, as I still have legacy USB devices. The HDMI port is great too. Wish it had a discrete GPU, but oh well.

I Replaced My Old Mac
The new Mac Mini is everything I hoped for and then some. Photoshop loads quickly, in seconds. Its very quiet. Waking up from sleep is a few seconds. I have a Gtech 4TB disc on Thunderbolt. It rocks.

Worth the wait, its everything Id hoped for.
Been a long time coming, was looking for a general purpose/media machine and was about to pull the tigger on a NUC until I heard about the new Mac minis. I like to listen to music and watch movies at night with headphones and had been using my pc workstation for that purpose and was annoyed with the fan noise it made when running and now its so quiet with the Mac mini and it makes listening much more enjoyable especially with open-back headphones. The only way I can tell its even on is the tiny light at the front. This is simply a great update from Apple and I love it.
