Great Computer but...
After contemplating out of 4 electronic stores which store to buy my new iMac from, I went with my past great experiences Ive had with B&H. Transaction of my payment was smooth as well as my pick up. Very Happy So Far
I previously had and still have a windows 7 machine which will be 9 years old in Jan 20. I've had few problems with this PC. This happens to be the same period that windows 7 reaches its end of life date. So I had to make a change, either to windows 10 or to a iMac. There is a learning curve with both operating systems. Since both my wife and I have iPhones and iPads we decided to make the leap to a iMac. I went with the 1TB ssd drive instead of the fusion drive. Our needs for a computer aren't sophisticated and it's overkill and overpriced but what the heck. So far so good.

Buttery Smooth Vega 48 video card - 8-core i9!
This is by far the most efficient iMac I've ever worked with. The 5k resolution is so pristine and incorporating the high-end video card, I can really zoom in on my graphics to a very fine point. It's allowing me to create higher end products in a shorter period of time. I love Apple.

Once you go Mac, you'll never go back.
I was looking to upgraded my 6yr old 21.5 iMac, I looked at PC based laptops, PC desktops, and MacBook Pros. One thing that made me go to the 27iMac was the fact that you can upgrade the ram. The 27 iMac has a ram access door making upgrading very quick and easy. The iMac from B&H was speced with the 6 core i5 processor, 8Gb graphics card and a 500Gb SSD and 8Gb ram. Great Almost an iMac Pro but not quite
So far I love it in general - fast, great screen, very fast SSD, good GPU performance. It actually benchmarks faster than a base iMac Pro in many cases. BUT...it has two USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports on one controller, which can be limiting (the 2018 Mac Mini has 4 ports on two controllers). Great Desktop Computer
Fast and reliable computer for the desktop. This was an upgrade from a 10-year-old iMac, and Apple made the transition very easy. Just plug in a current Time Machine backup when prompted, and your data and configuration are all loaded automatically.

Fast, but fast enough?
This is the 8 core i9 with 16GB. When editing 4K in Premiere Pro, I no longer get the beach ball. It copes easily with moving clips around and coloring them. However, don't expect the rendering to take milliseconds. Is Premiere allowing itself to use the computer's full capacity? Maybe not. However, overall this machine is seriously impressive.

Powerhouse Mac

iMac's are the greatest
This is my 4th iMac since 2006 when Apple started using Intel chips in their computer line up. I've been totally satisfied with every one of them. The design, lack of cable clutter, performance, screen quality are always better than the competition in my opinion. This 2019 27 with 5K Retina is the best iMac I've had to date. The only reason I ever upgrade is due to the operating system eventually out grows the hardware. I finally get to the point that I just can't resist getting a new iMac so I can benefit from the new software features.

Enjoyment!
Yes, total enjoyment. This is a beautiful piece of equipment. Everything about this is perfect. This is my first mac. Will not be my last. The display is so sharp, I can use smaller fonts. I use this for graphic arts. Every use is eye candy. I recommend this completely.

I was hesitant to upgrade my 2012 iMac, because I dreaded having to reload software and restore backups, and the inevitable compatibility issues that would surely result. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the migration tool handled the transfer of applications and data with only minor exceptions. Great photo editing machine
This machine, with the 27 retina screen, and the 256GB SSD hard drivewhen combined with two external 4GB hard drives (one to store photo files, and one for Time Machine backupis the perfect photo editing and storage setup.

Everything I expected it would be!
This iMac replaced an early 2009 Mac Pro which was no longer able to use the latest IOS releases and programs I needed would not update because they wanted the latest IOS (mojave). With its 8 core I9 processor and independently purchased and installed 129GB RAM, it handles my photo finishing and independent movie editing well. B&H made it all painless, too!

Looks just like my 2012 27 iMac, but runs a lot faster.
The Mac arrived quickly from B&H exactly as ordered. I installed the 3rd party RAM (really easy) and the iMac booted right up and ran perfectly. After recreating my system (see below) the big test was using iMovie and Final Cut Pro to create and export video clips. This computer is really a lot faster than my top of the line 2012 iMac. Wow, what a difference 11 years makes!
I purchased this computer as an upgrade to my 11 year old 2008 Mac Pro. Even though the 8 core Mac Pro was still functioning well, the slow speed and inability to upgrade the OS past El Capitan prompted me to upgrade. I purchased aftermarket RAM to increase the total memory to 40GB. The speed increase is so substantial - just as expected. The SSD is blazingly fast. The computer I've needed for 20 years.
I'm a professional photographer with over 20 years of full time experience. During that time, I've used macs and have always wanted a faster computer. But, I could not justify spending more on a computer with a 3 to 4 year life. My last iMac did last 7 years which is very good. With a SSD, I expect this iMac to last at least that long. Really solid FCPX workstation.
These are great for everyday 4k editing and mastering when connected to fast storage. I love the iMac Pro, but these 2019 iMac 27 are all most everyone needs.

Great iMac! Great Sales/Service by B&H!
This 2019 iMac-27 has turned out to be everything I hoped for, and more. I have NO complaints about it. I used the Migration Assistant to move all of my apps and data from my old 2015 iMac running Sierra, and it worked fine. But it was definitely worth the wait on upgrading to macOS Mojave. Of course, B&H made it very easy, and saved me $250+ in taxes. Item shipped and received as expected (3 days) and in excellent condition. Availability of this specific iMac configuration is very limited, so I did have to wait about a week, but it was well worth it.
