I bought this mic after a friend recommended it(and uses it). It works exactly as advertised, and sounds great(already got compliments on how clear I sound, and mic doesn't pick up excessive background noise. I use the mic with a pair of inexpensive Philips SHP9500 headphones and it is a great setup(there are many positive reviews on this combo). Being able to use the mic with any headset with a detachable cord(3.5mm jack) is nice, if the headset breaks or you just want to try out a different set, it only takes seconds to swap the mic out. Only complaints I have(as well as some of the other review videos I watched) is the cable is extremely long(~6 feet I believe)sitting in a computer chair you have to be mindful to not roll over the cable, it will drag on the floor a bit) and the bulky volume/mute pod, it's at an awkward height and the mute switch makes audible noise when muting/unmuting. ... I use this with my Philips SHP9500 headset for gaming (overwatch) and the mic is great. I recorded a voice sample with my previous gaming headset and compared the mic quality and the vmoda boompro was considerably better. In-game i cannot say how much better the sound quality because games will compress the sound quality of mics, but everyone i talked to said my voice sounded good/clear. I like the on/off switch for the mic and the volume control for the headset which the shp9500 originally didnt have. I took off 1 star because the build quality of the on/off switch and volume control feels cheap, its made of cheap plastic, but for the price i'd expect a more premium feel (so either they should reduce prices or upgrade the switch material). ... I bought this microphone to go with my V-Moda's and have never been happier. This turned my amazing headphones into an amazing GAMING HEADPHONE that works on anything you want to game with. If it has a 3.5mm jack...you can connect to it. I use it on Mac, PC, Android, my iPod, and my PS4. Everyone says I come across loud and clear without any distortion or loss of communication. I have used all the top dog gaming headsets (Astro A50&A40 TR; Turtle Beach Elite 800X wireless, and Razer Thresher Ultimate). I am about to use their (V-Moda's) lifetime warranty and trade in my VModa Crossfade wireless 1's for the Crossfade 2's at half price (a great benefit of the VModa headset company.) ... More

I bought the BoomPro to use as a microphone with my Bose Quiet Comfort 35ii headphones. I just had to buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter. I use it for gaming and my friends said that the quality was good. The only small issue is that the mic can slip out of place easily as the plug rotates in the socket. However, I am not sure if this is only as issue because I have to use an adapter. Some kind of clip or stabiliser would be ideal. But this is only a small issue. Shipping was fast to Australia. Overall very happy. ... More

Got it for gaming and voip/skype. I wanted headphones but not a gaming headset. Got a v-moda with it and the BoomPro does a lovely job when I'm online. Sounds crisp to the other person/players. The only thing i personally don't like, more of a pet peeve, is the diamond shape mic and controls. They looks big and clunky. You would think that a company that puts so much into the design and feel of their headphones would actually make something more streamlined, like their SpeakEasy cable. But that's just me.

This cable is perfect for my V-Moda M-100s when I'm gaming. The cable is long, there's an in-line controller with a clip, mic mute switch and volume wheel, and they come with a 4-pole splitter so you can use separate headphone and microphone jacks with most PCs. My only problem with it is the microphone itself. It's not as flexible as it seems, and it's pretty tricky to get it in the exact spot you want. But the microphone quality is good, and overall I'm still satisfied.

Product works as described at a decent price point. Seems to pick up voice pretty easily, although there have been some instances where it had trouble picking up my voice. The only concern I really had with the product is that it is not compatible with certain headphones that do not have a 3.5mm jack (USB, etc.) but that issue was solved with a female-to-female 3.5mm connector which is relatively inexpensive.

Honestly I didn't think that the mic would sound as good as it would and I was insanely impressed the moment I heard it compared to every other gaming headset that I have owned and tried in the past year. I had to buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to use it with my current headphones, but it's well worth it!

Bought this boom mic to use with my headphones for gaming. Unfortunately the mic function did not work......which seems to be the same problem with customer service......they don't seem to be working either.

These produce amazing sound for the price. However, the microphone "arm" is a little awkward because it can't be put in a upright position like most headphone mics. This is slightly annoying when you aren't using the mic and want it to be out of the way.

Worked well while it worked! But it broke easily, and V-Moda are not interested in providing a replacement or warranty. If there is any other product you can use instead, I would pick that. These are not reliable and the company even less so.

I used this, along with my Sony headphones, primarily for work meetings. The mic stopped working after just over a year of use. During the period when it did work, it was great but I certainly expected it to work for longer than a year. Not happy with this product.

take any headphone with a detachable 3.5mm plug and convert them into a headset. Cord is a bit too long, but I'd rather it be too long vs too short

Excellent mic and super adaptable. Very good add on to any single 3.5mm port headphones needing a mic!

The mic sounds great, it's convenient and it's built well enough for the price. I matched mine with the Philips SHP9500 headphones, and couldn't be happier. Absolute value king combination.

Basically no set up required on the PS4. Just had to mess with the system settings for voice chat volumes. Took a few minutes.
