Love these headphones - great sound, great controls / lot's of little features and a great app to control them. recommend them for excellant noise cancelling. They are EXCLUDED from the argos returns policy though - YOU CAN NOT TRY THEM AT HOME OR EVEN IN THE STORE AND GET A REFUND. THEY SIMPLY WILL NOT REFUND ON THIS PRODUCT unless faulty so be warned

I bought these headphones for my wife for Christmas, the following is her review of the headphones so far: "These are the softest, headphones ever! The ear cups hug your ears like a pillowcase. The sound quality is immersive. The noise cancellation is second to none. They are lightweight and come with a cool case. One downside, is the ear cups do not fold flat when the earphones are down around your neck. The sound quality is really good and can be customized with the app. The vegan leather has a very nice feel."

I cross-shopped between this set and Apple maxes. The Apple has much better build quality, but are too heavy and uncomfortable for prolonged use. I prefer the Sony sound as well. It has better base and the mids and highs are not as pronounced as AirPods. When you add the price difference there is no competition.

Overall just as good as the XM4s although i would say the XM4's had a little better noise cancelling and easier to fold for traveling. The touch controls on the XM5 are much improved though perhaps a little sensitive sometimes. The bluetooth range on both is the same if not a but worse. Aesthetically these are better looking headphones than the prior model imo and the same price so may as well get these over the 4s

I fly quite often and the cabin noise can be quite intrusive and distracting, I had reviewed noise cancelling headphones and these came out as the best in class, they're not cheap but if you want all the background noise "gone" they do the business. Sound quality is excellent as well, they have other features which are great; automatically detects when you're speaking, touch controls etc. Overall an excellent set of ANC headphones.

I've had every version of these headphones since XM3 and these are the best yet. Unfortunately, they still have trouble canceling out sudden noises and people talking. I live next to a highway and while wearing these outside they do a great job of blocking out almost every type of engine that drives by. Extremely noisy vehicles are greatly reduced and that makes these a godsend for me. I do wish they were a bit louder.

Apparently the ANC work so well on these that on my flight back from Maui to PDX I managed to miss a huge in-flight commotion in the seat directly behind me of a woman puking so profusely she required 2 separate bags and even a doctor aboard the plane to intervene. My wife asked me the next day if I heard it as I must've caught whatever she had as I woke up puking the next day. 10/10 would buy another pair.

I love the noise cancelling. I have tried many other headphones and this is the best I have tried. The sound and ANC are a 5/5 stars. The phones are quite comfortable. 4/5 stars. I liked the case at first but the SECOND TIME I used it, the zipper broke. Just past the 1 month return window. Sony support offered no option. Note: the zipper broke in a way the case cannot even open enough to get the headphones out. 2/5 stars.

For me, the headphones do not live up to the media reviews I had read prior to purchase. Noise cancelling is reasonable but not outstanding. Swipe function on the outside of the left ear piece is far too sensitive. Most significantly the adjusting band is not a good fit for someone with a small skull. If I was buying again I would try Bose to see if they have done a better job than Sony on avoiding these deficiencies.

The sound quality from these is excellent, naturally deep and bassy but with a good graphic equaliser in the app. The noise cancelling is off the scale! They block absolutely everything out, the ambient mode is good and the touch controls work very well. They're not quite as comfortable as the Bose QC45's in my opinion. One down side is the they don't fold so the carry case is considerably larger the others. All in all an excellent pair of headphones

Had MX3 and was quite happy with them but they stopped working what was disappointing. Got MX5. In my opinion better sound, even from very beginning. Immediately noticeable. Less heavy more air. Fitting is way better. Lighter feel more common the ears. I do not think it would be worth but it more mature headset now.

I wish I'd bought these months ago!! Amazing sound quality, & best of all is that the NC function completely cuts out my ex council nightmare neanderthal neighbours continual stamping on their floor above me! At last my husband can come home to a wife who's not stressed to the hilt & on the verge of becoming a jibbering wreck 🙂

Have read many reviews before deciding to take the plunge and get these,not disappointed at all. The sound is great,clear and precise, customizable equaliser in the Sony headphone app means you can get the sound you prefer and very comfortable to wear.Battery life is fantastic and comes with a very nice case too.

After 2 weeks of using now I experience problems with the headphones every time. The phones disconnect and reconnect multiple times; sometimes a few seconds apart. There's issues with sound too. Sometimes I can hardly hear anything even if the volume is up to 100%. What a disappointment! I have had other Sony headphones for over 3 years and I have never had any issues with them.

great headphones, comfy and great sound quality. the noise cancellation/adaptive sound is slightly frustrating as it changes when i don’t need it to and plays and alarm sound when it does which fully confused me, but when you turn the adaptive sound off it’s fine!

I was definitely worried about paying almost £300 for a pair of headphones but these really are outstanding. The noise cancelling is brilliant, far better than any others I've ever tried. They come in a beautiful case with great Protection and style. The box came out to the counter looking filthy and bashed. I was worried the headphones would be the same but the interior case was perfect.

I bought this during the boxing day sales and have been planning to buy it either way. Best choice I’ve made as the quality is so good. It fits so comfortably and the options for noise cancelling and speak to chat is helpful when I’m studying for exams or doing coursework. These headphones are worth it for the long run and if you like music or podcasts, it’s just good.
