If given the proper treatment these headphones can last a very long time. On top of that, they are quite affordable, but also provide an amazing sound experience. Great headphones for any reason you may need them. I personally use them for listening to my microphone when doing recordings and they provide me with a very accurate sound representation, but I also now use them for listening to music and they are so much better than any earbuds I have owned. Definitely recommend, but make sure you take proper care of them.

I like these headphones, but I bought then for pure listening and I do not do any monitoring. I ended up letting these go and am still searching for the perfect sub $ headset.Pros: relatively comfortable, lightweight, solid build, excellent bass definition, and heavy enough for my tastes. Details are good and separation of instruments is good.Cons: I move around a lot and the cord is a minus. Woah the ear cups could swivel. Miss/vocals are a bit thin.

I've personally owned these headphones for years, and when it came time to buy a set at work for recording and editing video, there was no question that we should get another pair. They sound great and clear throughout the entire range. The 1/4 adapter screws on quite snug when in use, and comes off easily to expose the 1/8 jack, which is great for plugging into our DSLR. When not in use, they fold up small and can be stored in the handy little storage bag that's included. Good stuff.

I got my first MDR-7506 headphone about fifteen years ago and it still sounds clean and robust like the day I bought it. I know this because I just bought my second 7506 headphone and when I compare them side-by-side, the sound is identical. It perfectly represents the signal being sent to it which makes it a great production and post-production monitor. The size adjustment make for a great, comfortable fit, and the included 1/4 TRS adapter fits tightly on the 3.5mm connector to insure versatility.

I've wanted a pair of these headphones for years, and I don't know why I waited so long to pull the trigger on ordering a set, as I've rented them countless times. These headphones will likely be with me for the rest of my career. After all, in the unlikely event that parts wear out, they're easily replaceable both from the stand point that parts are readily available and easy to replace. I recommend them without hesitation!

I can't describe how many times I've put on headphones around this price range that would quickly or even gradually start to hurt my head or just make me feel pressure on my head. Most times causing pain around the ears so I have to constantly adjust the headphones after only 2 hours or so. NOT WITH THESE! Not only does the headphones not put so many pressure on my head, but also the Deep Earpads are extremely comfortable which I can go on for 12 hours wearing them and still be good! Also another factor is the Deep Earpads add better Isolation as well. Don't pass these up! ... More

I use the product at my work station where I want to shut out my co-workers and just hear what I'm working on or referencing. They monitor fairly accurately. They are comfortable. I also use them on location. I find them robust and durable. My only beef with these are the ear pads come off when they get kind of old. I've been working with several pairs of these for awhile and I've only lost ear pads once or twice....so minor. Buy these for true monitoring and durable, long lasting gear. If you want something super-duper precise, I don't think these are the right headphones for you. ... More

Clarity and clean detail is what you hear. That's exactly what I want. Great for any music. Well recorded orchestras sound stunning. I love this headset and it gets a lot of use every day. The pads started to deteriorate after about a year or so but I found replacement pads on line that worked fine. Eventually one driver went down but I got my money's worth. Glad this model is still in the line so I could get a replacement.

Seriously, Solid, clear work horse. I'm still impressed with the 7506. Industry standard. I started using these 18 years ago when working for CNN. They've taken the beating of being used for our run and gun shoots yet comfortable and clear to use in the studio. You get an "honest" sound out of these. Like I said... Solid and reliable.

I've been using the MDR-7506 headphones for televison audio and studio recording since 2000. The MDR 7506 are great because: the sound quality is amazing (lots of low end and a lot of clarity in the high end). Also the 7506 are ultra tough they've been dropped, thrown, kicked, they endured such a beating and they always keep working perfectly. The other great feature is that the 7506 headphones are so comfortable that one can wear them for 12 hours straight or more without any discomfort. Overall The 7506 is a great product. The standard of the industry.

Our radio reporters love these for their robust sound. Caution: if they get extremely heavy use, as they do in a broadcast studio, the exposed wires can get stripped as they rub between plastic parts. The wires are not replaceable. A little judiciously applied electrical tape can prevent the problem. Also, the pad covers will wear out more quickly than you might expect (they are replaceable.) But all in all, great phones.

For Location Sound, which is what I do, I haven't found a better set of headphones, just the right audio quality for the spoken word. Also I like to have some contact with the outside world or your Camerman tends to want to drag you under a float at the Stampede parade! So it's good to have both enlosed sound and some outside ambience. Shame the earpads are a bit flimsy, but it's a small price to pay. Hope Sony carry on making them, never usually participate in reviews, but they are a cracking product for the price.

I utilize the MDR-7506's in my project studio for tracking purposes. Vocal tracking more than anything is what these mainly get used for in my studio. Overall, I would say they are a great product. At first, I was worried that these might be hyped and not deliver to the level expected, but I was wrong. These definitely provide the clarity and noise-isolation that I was looking to provide for people in my studio.

I use these for recording sounds in the field for sound design. I also use them to mix on and the are surprisingly accurate and give a pretty nice mix considering they are closed headphones. They fit over my ears nicily so they do not hurt them when wearing them for long periods of time. They cancel out noise very well. Be careful though because it is easy to stand next to a bass cabinet turned all the way up and think you are good when recording it.

100% great headphones. I've had 6 of these over the past 20 years. I gave a pair away, had 2 pairs stolen, I tore the cable out of a pair repaired then lost them and I'm on a pair a few years young currently dressed in the 100% necessary SOFTIE covers. And just bought this pair for my son who got his 1st electric guitar at 13! Great value with fantastic performance, accurate reference, great isolation, compact, tough, AND affordable!!

While i am a music addict, this is my first investment into quality headphones. i enjoy a wide range of music with a strong focus on massage/yoga/spiritual to downtempo/IDM/ambient. i wanted these headphones because i listen to such artists as Shpongle, Bluetech, Desert Dwellers, Gaudi, Thievery, and so forth. These headphones are great for picking up the detail and movement of the music. While it took a little getting used to the size and feel on my ears, they keep getting more comfortable. They were definitely worth the investment. B&H had the best price by the way ;-}

I had completed a TV shoot and realized my MDR-7505's were gone. I called B&H in panic mode and a cool customer service guy answered and told me to chill everything will be ok. Guess what he was right. Although the MDR-7505 was discontinued, he recomended the MDR-7506 Headphone by Sony. The clarity of sound and the comfort on my head was unexpected. Better than the MDR-7505. It is also a value at the price I got at B&H. I would highly recommend both the headphones and B&H to all my film maker friends!!

I really enjoy audio, video and photography and always want the best. That's why I've been a faithful B+H shopper for the last 9 years and most likely sent them close to $ 15,000.00+ for some great gear. These Sony headphones are typical because they sound great and the next level of quality will cost you 3-4X as much. I've used them for about 10 hours since purchasing about a month ago and I highly recommend them and plan on getting a good use out of them for the next 15 years...Thank You.
