I've used sennheiser, IMO, this is just as nice, at a better price. Low noise, wide range... Picked up a near whisper, crystal clear, at nearly 50ft. AMAZING! Also, VERY DURABLE. Bottom Line: This is THE BEST FOR YOUR MONEY!!!

Excellent microphone, good sound quality, crystalline, transparent, inherent noise almost imperceptible, metal construction, has only given me joys, in fact I have two units. I also had the renowned Sennheiser MKH-416 P48, and this Sony has nothing to envy. Sony has not done the marketing work required by this microphone, in fact many audio professionals do not even evaluate using a microphone of this brand for professional applications. Excelente micrfono, buena calidad de sonido, cristalino, transparente, ruido inherente casi imperceptible, construccin metlica, solo me ha dado alegras, de hecho tengo dos unidades. Tambin tuve el reconocido Sennheiser MKH-416 P48, y este sony no tiene nada que envidiarle. Sony no ha hecho el trabajo de marketing que requiere este micrfono, de hecho muchos profesionales de audio ni siquiera evalan usar un micrfono de esta marca para aplicaciones profesionales. ... More
Bought as back up, now use all of the time

I bought this mic as a backup to my Rode NTG3. The Rode is a fine mic, but this Sony is really quite good. I can use it in an exterior setting, inside, even in a car. I'm really happy with this mic. Much more than a backup. This is an unsung mic. I'm a big fan!
