Works well if it is what you need. It's just a tool. I am a canon shooter for business but I purchased this for more fun, social media and tutorials. For my purposes it works fine and while some ergonomics are not as easy compared to typical DSLR usage I can still work around it. If your job makes that an issue then some of the short comings may not be for you despite how good the image quality is. Get the tool that best fits your NEEDS and you won't be disappointed.

Still a very capable camera in 2019 -2020. In my opinion one of the best full frame cameras on the market in this price range with the year end Sony discount. The newer versions have brought many improvements, but the sensor in this camera is still incredible with an excellent build quality and very usable in the majority of situations. Highly recommended , very satisfied with my purchase.

I have had this camera about 3 weeks and so far so good. Took it and my old camera on vacation, never took my old one out. Only draw back so far is having to print the HUGH manual. A lot of paper but it is very helpful

I've only had the 7rii for a few weeks, but it's easily the best camera I've ever owned. Having just moved up from the A7ii, which I loved, that's saying something. 42mps allows for usable cropping when necessary and the 2 second timer use with bracketing is a welcomed new feature the a7ii lacked. Fell in love with this cam the minute I took the first shot.

Overall this is an outstanding camera. The colors and resolutions are close to perfect. The weight of the camera beats the DSLR's. It cannot be overstated what a big plus it is to have this light weight camera that you can run all over the place with, shoot a couple hundred pictures and not have your hand start to ache from holding a heavy camera. The camera is very solid and the shutter system is quiet and fantastic. The one big issue that has been raised is the auto focus system. Wish sony had more lens choices.

Ergonomics could be better, particularly the small rear wheel. I have noticed that the sensor/lens is extremely sensitive to the smallest and I mean smallest speck (42 mp?). I'm real particular about changing lenses. I dust off at each lens change. Buy again? Without hesitation.

I received my A7RII as a fathers day gift. No issues whatsoever, never have to do too much editing. Customers are always satisfied with my work but the compliments are always pouring in when they see the images and videos captured by this camera.

This camera is super nice. Probably the most user friendly interface I ever messed with. My history is canon and still a panasonic user as well. But this a7 took me about ten minutes to find all my settings and set up custom slots. The other cameras took me days to dig through the menu and find all the settings. The picture quality is real good. Using for product photos on a website. HiRes. Great color. Love the camera getting another for travel.

It's too early to tell whether this camera is a 4 or 5 star product. I use this camera primarily for landscape and natural subjects. The A7RII provides BSI, low noise, and a large number of features to address many different subject and shooting styles. I wish that the dial/wheel lock worked for the main back wheel and that the sensor micro-adjustment worked for all lenses, not just A mount lenses. Construction feels solid for such a light lens and the controls work smoothly.

The Sony Alpha A7RII is used for photography of the Most critical nature. This application includes architectural, Product, macro, as well as microscopy. Thus far, every performance parameter meets or Exceeds my expectations. I can find no fault with this camera. The Sony A7RII Is a brilliant and superlative photographic instrument.

Fantastic for stills. Not so much for video (which is why I have the Sony A7SII). Love this camera--it is the best out there for pro shooting.

Just started using this camera, so far it has been great, no issues with battery performance but know that they are smaller batteries so there will be less time. I am using the camera in conjunction with the metabones adapter for using my canon lenses and no issues so far.

This is my second Sony A7RII and completely satisfied with the ergonomics, build and performance. I especially like the ability to do significant cropping of an image without serious loss of resolution, enhancing my creative parameters. Highly recommended for the fine art or landscape photographer.

I used to shoot Canon, and then switched to Leica, and was looking for a high-res sensor that works with Leica M glass. After reading all the negative reviews about Sony sensor, I decided to give it a try. The camera is small and easy to use. Not sure what is all the buzz about the menu. It gives a greenish color, but I found a trick in C1 - assign a Leica M10 camera profile, and you get Canon colors without doing anything. Zeiss EF glass quality is comparable with Leica M. 6400 max ISO and 4K full-frame, not 35 crop are better for my taste. I can mount pretty much any lens I want using a helicoid adapter for macro, and get 42 MP file. It's definitely more travel-friendly than Leica SL2, and I use only tiny lenses like Leica Summarit-M 35/50/75. Not sure what else to ask for my needs. ... More

I jumped from owning a Canon 60D to this and what a difference. I was afraid from reading about the older Sony cameras that it wouldn't focus quickly but after using it in various lighting conditions, this is not an issue. I would say that the only con I have with this camera is that there isn't an option to auto preview your photos on the monitor screen when using the finder screen to take pictures.

The Sony A7Rii like the A7Sii is capable of truly remarkable photos. One of the big selling points of this camera is its ability to use a wide variety of lenses with the correct adaptor. The problem is that it is virtually impossible to change lenses outdoors, without getting dust, dirt and pollen on the sensor. Pollen is especially problematic as it leaves spots that have to be removed by repeated wet cleaning. The cleaning mode is not effective in my experience and the bulb method introduces new particles. After I wet cleaned the sensor I left the Gmaster 24-70 on with no intent to ever change it. In this requard the mirrorless cameras have not live up to my expectation. ... More

No, it is NOT perfect. However, I bought it for it's sensor. I shoot 99% landscapes and scenics and this camera does the job. This is my second A7RII body from B&H. I now keep a Sony 24-105mm f4 G on one and a Tamron 17-28mm on the other. Using the B&H Payboo card and the free 12 month Adobe Photo subscription, I could not resist. I think it is the best full frame bargain out there.

Really good camera quality the 42 megapixel sensor is crazy good. Great bang for your buck. I upgraded from a a6000 and the difference is night and day. The lens that it comes with is ok would recommend something with a faster aperture this one goes down to 3.5f at 28mm then goes up 4.5. But if you're just getting started its an ok lens to start with being its around $300. Sony a7rII: 9/10 Lens 28-70mm: 7/10

I bought this camera for shooting landscapes and it works great. I love how I'm able to crop to fit my needs and still get a great result. I bought the kit during a price reduction at B&H which I feel was a good deal. The 28-70 lens that came with the kit works well for a walk around lens and shooting people around home. The past reviews gave an excellent overview of what the camera can and can't do, I wouldn't recommend it for fast subjects. Very happy with my purchase.
