I wanted to move up to a better vocal mic and after trying out various ones settled on this standard. Sound is much clearer on recordings and live but the best improvement I've noticed is it is much easier to use. I always had trouble finding the sweet spot when singing with my former cheapy mic but the Shure has a lot of tolerance.

This mic is extremely sturdy feeling. I like that. It also sounds great. I bought it to use for mobile recording, but have been using it to podcast regularly since receiving it. I added a mic flag and wind screen and love it even more, now.

Mic: It's a Shure 58 and that says a lot. It might be my aging ears, but the mic doesn't seem to be as sensitive as back in the day. Stand: Stable, easy to operate and comes with cord clips. Should be okay for our basic needs. Cable: The cable is too short for our setup with powered speakers. No problem, I knew that when ordering. It does appear to be a good cable.

There is a reason every recording engineer should have a bevy of these in his or her gig bag. They just work. Recently did front of house support for a concert with some world class opera stars and the worlds largest outdoor pipe organ, the Spreckels Organ of San Diego. I did a quick shoot off with the principles and the SM-58 rocked. They we both my choice and that of the principles.

I use this microphone for home purposes (not professional purposes), such parties with Karaoke. The robustness of the product and the capture quality are incredible. I think this microphone is made to last a lifetime. I'm sure it's a great choice even for those who will use them for professional purposes, such as live presentations and events.

Everyone uses them, they're a stalwart. That being said, the switch is a little flimsy. Its convenient but I worry that it may not last as long as the rest of the mic, and might suggest opting out of the switch if you're not sure you need it.

Who doesn't have at least one SM58 ? The silver finish on the SM58-50A sets it apart and I won't use it in everyday service, instead I'll put it in the display cabinet with my limited edition 5575LE.

Im an audiophile since the 70s, but know little about making music. Ive dorked around with cheap microphones, mixers etc, and was always disappointed. I splurged on this mic, a Yamaha mixer and a JBL EON10. What a difference real equipment makes. This mic delivers a world of difference compared to the 30$ toys I have been dorking with in the garage.

I needed everything on time and everything to work for a kids summer camp sound system. I'm currently using the mics, stands, and cables twice everyday and they are flawless. You can always count on SM58s and B&H. I've purchased camera equipment, drones, and sound equipment and have had my expectations more than met.

Decent mic. Probably among the best for the money. Wish they'd come up with a different material for the ball, though. Thing shocks me when I use it in dry weather. Definitely get the Shure windscreen to go with it. A buck or two more than the others but it definitely is better.

I bought this microphone for singing and I understand now why it is so commonly used for this. My voice is so warm and true to life with this device. A very good value for the money!

Enough said, Shure makes the best mics. They can take a beating and continue working without an issue. I needed an on/off switch and I only looked at Shure.

While not my favorite microphone, for this application is exactly what is called for. Bomb proof, with a switch.

B&H came through with a great package and a great product. We use this mic at church and it gets passed around and manhandled, yet others like it have held up and sound great. Will buy again when the abuse gets out of hand!!

This is probably the most known mic in the world and there is a reason for that. I got great deal and I will gladly buy it again.

It's my third SM58, but I needed one with a switch so I can turn off my vocal mic when I'm using my vocoder...great stuff.

This microphone is well built, feels solid and has excellent sound quality. The mic is small which is helpful as we're using it plugged into a wireless transmitter.
