I had a $13 microphone before this one (I bought the cheapest one I could find), but the difference between the two is astonishing. This is a really good microphone.

I don't mix for live sound very often, but when I do I need to be prepared. Having a few SM57's on hand helps me cover most situations and doesn't break the bank. Perfect for me!

I've recorded entire albums using only SM57s. Recording guitar? SM57. Recording drums? SM57s. Recording vocals? Why not...SM57!

We buy these on a regular basis. Used for public address, performance , and television production in studio and EFP. Have always been happy with Shure products.

Of course the live/studio standard. Rugged, great dynamic mic. Every studio/musician/sound engineer should have one, or (many) more.

This is my second or third SM57. They're work horses in the studio. Will most likely get another one at some point. They just sound great!

One can never have enough of these in your mic locker. Reliable, can take a beating, and pure bang for your buck.

It's a great used mic in excellent condition. Works great for live vocals with heavier amount of effects and minimal feedback.

These do ~90% what a $1k mic will get you for 1/10th the price. They seem to be mid to high range focused and lack a little low end definition. Over all I’m really happy with them though.

At the holiday sale price, I basically got the stand for free. And both the cable and the stand were higher quality than expected. Very happy with the bottom line. (The SM-57 speaks for itself.)

I use the microphone to record direct from my amp cabinet while using an audio interface. Picks up all frequencies beautifully!

Yeah there are a lot of comparable mic's out there in the same price range, but you can't go wrong with a 57.

Gives a new lease of life to my acoustic guitar playing. The sound is so crisp and clear. I should have bought one years ago.

Got this product 2-years ago for Christmas. Just opened the box to set up Home Studio (finally). The mic stand included in this package is cheap, flimsy and came with stripped-out aluminum threads - won't hold microphone. Had it two years, not knowing they sent a USED piece of gear that someone else jacked-up before it was sent to me. I'm not even attempting to return something that was purchased that long ago. Also, within the poorly packaged products, due to banging around on shipment, several of the plastic cord clips were snapped in half on arrival. No matter the amount of money I've spent over the years, both in the store and online, nobody there knows my name. In the 90s, I knew all the Drum Department; now, nobody seems to care. ... More

Versatile and effective. Not the best for a particular use, but really versatile and rugged and can be used for so many instruments (and vocals in a pinch with some eq)
