I've been a Shure SM58 zealot for close to 20 years. This unit sounds great, and we've experienced no dropouts. The only issue is in the initial setup. The transmitter and receiver are supposed to sync with just a touch of a button, but this never goes smoothly, and we have to try syncing the thing for over 5 minutes (valuable setup time in most venues). Bottom-line, the performance is right on par with systems costing much more. Line 6 is in the same ballpark with this though, and is way easier to set up; just make the channels match on both devices and go. True the other PG unit is cheaper, but there's a good reason for it; the bottomline PG units don't reproduce the sound as accurately. They're fine for DJ and karaoke applications, but musicians need quality. I recommend this, but the Line 6 XD wireless option should also be considered. This unit does the job of the SLX and ULX Shure units for a fraction of the cost. ... More

First time buying Digital mic. Guitar center rep recommended and i was skeptical at first. Set it up at church and was immediately blown away by how loud and clear it was. Beats all wired mics we have. we use Shure and sennheiser and it beat both by a mile. I have the receiver 120 feet away and no dropouts. And as always read the manual before setting up. Don't be a noob

I think these are good microphones, but they would not work properly in my conference room and kept dropping the audio. Shure thinks it is because of interference. We tried multiple system groups with different channels, but could not get the system working properly. Luckily we had a wired microphone that could be used or it would have been a major issue. Shure's documentation says up to 5 systems, but their tech support said that was only in the best of all possible worlds and had me start with just one microphone to see if that would work. It didn't. I ended up renting a wireless system. The system that worked was in the 600MHz range, not the 900MHz range. I am returning all of the PGXD microphones as I will only use them in that one venue. If you use these microphones be sure to test them extensively before the event. We did sound checks, but did not detect that after about a minute the audio would drop for about 15 seconds. It was not until the speaker was presenting that the problem became evident! The sound quality was good, when they were working, so if you don't have interference in the venue, then I think they could be very good microphones. ... More

I'm part of a Southern Gospel Duet. I've had a Sennheiser ew365 wireless for myself for a few months. I have nothing but praise with it. But I wanted to get my singing partner a wireless as well, but we just couldn't afford another thousand dollar mic. So I decided to buy her a Shure PGXD24/SM58 Digital Wireless. All I can say is WOW! I had to turn the gain way down on the PMP4000 mixer. It's hot, compared to mine. When I got everything set up, I can't tell the difference between the Shure & the Sennheiser. Now you have to understand, the Shure receiver doesn't have all the bells & whistles like the more expensive Sennheiser, but it's well worth the investment. ... More

I really like this product for its value & sound...This is way better than the previous PGX Analogue product...You can also exchange various Mic Capsules (Beta 58, plain 58, 87a, etc)... The SHURE PGXD Digital Wireless System has great features like Automatic Frequency Selection between the Receiver & Transmitter; a clear Scan Automatic Frequency search; and easy replacement or upgrade of the Microphone Cartridge/Capsule....Make sure the Transmitter has the proper GAIN setting (0 db for the SM58 Capsule)....Also follow the Frequency Selection process (a lot of people simply do not follow the Manual)... I use several of these systems in my Sound business....Great clear Sound....Great value... ... More

I use my Shure PGXD systems every day in all kinds of settings. Conferences, music gigs, small rooms, large rooms, and outdoors. There is often loads of other wireless signals present from other sources - other wireless mic systems, emergency radio, etc. My PGXD systems never fail or drop out - ever! Programming the carrier frequency is so quick and easy! I have owned other manufacturers wireless and you need the instructions sheet, a slide rule, and a calculator to program them! No complaints about this product at all!

That's about all it takes, a minute, to set this mic up. Plug in the receiver, drop 2 AA batteries into the mic and let it select a channel and you're set to go. Works everywhere in our 6,400 sq. ft. ballroom and the receiver is located behind a curtain in a metal cage! Great clean sound with no drop out ever. Highly recommended.

I got this unit to replace an aging BLX Shure unit from 15 years prior. Plug and play with the digital system -- i have two other Shure laveliers on the with their own digital channels and everything worked wonderfully for our graduation event with over 1000 people. I do appreciate these run on AA batteries which are easier to have on hand than the old 9v ones. The SM58 head is simply great.

These mics are great. This was our third replacement for old PGX2 analog mics. The sound is great and being digital, the batteries last much longer than the old analog versions.

Shure has been recognized as the industry standard for sound forever, that is without question. The problem with this microphone and most models of shure wireless microphones is the on/off button. I always have to carry a spare because 9 times out of ten the shure won't power on. Until they change their power on system, I will buy Sennheiser.
