Just bought this mic last night and did my first show with it and WOW! I've been using a Sennheiser e945 and I like the 945 a lot. I was just looking to add a cool new stage mic to my arsenal and this is my new favorite. I was able to boost the monitors much higher with the 87c without feedback. I've never heard myself in the monitor better. It cuts through the mix with plenty to spare. I considered the 87a but went with the 87c because I occasionally use in ears. I'm glad I made this choice. I'm sure I'll be using it for a long time to come. I'm now considering adding a Neumann KMS105 to my collection. I can't imagine it being much better. This mic needs very little eq'ing. With loud stage volumes, this is definitely my new mic of choice. Try it, you won't be disappointed. I would however, not recommend this to a less than stellar vocalist. It is less forgiving than your normal dynamic mic. It is a condensor so keep that in mind before purchasing. But if you are a pro and if you can really sing, this is one of the very best. Happy hunting! ... More

This mic can do anything. Live Sound, Recording, Vocals, Amps. I have used this mic in many different ways and every way it has a great sound. I believe the best use for the mic is recording vocals. It is very clear and sound great. It also has a pop-filter. I recommend this mic to anyone for any application.

I use this mic for my clean vocals for rock and metal. Never had any feedback during a show, and it's much easier to deal with the sound guys using this. It cuts through the mix, and is very accurate. I never have to overcompensate in order to sing through it. I use it with normal and operatic singing with rock or metal in the background, and it works like a charm. However, it's so accurate I would not recommend to anyone who is not confident in their performance. My new favorite mic. I can't go back to the shure 58. ... More

I got the 87C to pair with my 87A and use for the lecturn mics. A pair of mics in front of a speaker is common, having identical looking mics, with different patterns, is a real asset when mixing an event with many people speaking. It allows me to choose which pattern works best, based on where the speaker stands, how tall they are and how much they move around. Either version sounds great on a voice, and they look nice up on the podium, in front of the lecturn. And when I'm not on a speaking event gig, they are great mics for percussion. ... More

Used for live sound with Allen & Heath WZ4 and QSC 16 kW system. Clear and crisp, very controlable especially going into low note vocals. This is a new purchase. Will have to see how it performs a few more times.

Like the 87A, this mic makes male voices shine. But this one works much better when shared between singers, which happens despite my best efforts. I'm a new fan of condenser vocal mics because of my experience with these Shure models.

I use this for recording and I'll use it for gigs. I've used a 57 for recording and gigs, it sounded really good and worked for me, but, this 87C is even better since it has the High End Frequencies that the 57 lacks. It sounds really nice. It also seems to be very durable, I don't feel like I need to baby it too much.

There is a world of difference between this and other mikes I have used.Much higher gain before feedback, and it doesn't color the sound of your voice. Well worth every penny!

The Beta87C mic is a giant step up from my first mic. I notice the upgrade, sound-wise, no distortion ; an excellent mic in a reasonable price range.

I wanted to add another mic to the collection, and this mic sounds crisp compared to an SM58. I like it, and it's good enough for Bruce Dickinson

If you want a microphone to carry between recording at home or playing live, look no further. This mic is equally great at both jobs.

This mic was giving to me as a gift and after hooking it up to my BR1600 this mic sounds great for solo vocals. You can hear the clarity in your words.Even though it's got the built in pop screen i need to use an external screen to eliminate all the pops.A definite home studio mic.
