Such a great mic! I mainly use it for mic’ing bass and guitar cabs when recording. My bass sound when recording has been improved a lot by using this mic. This recording was made using only this mic on my bass cab: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xRIbLaolsyg

I use the Beta 57 to amplify voices for a public board of education at remote meetings around the district. The mics' supercardioid pickup pattern provides excellent volume before feedback. It is a solid all-around performer that also sounds very good on recorded music performances.

This mic is good for recording electric guitars and drums. It's also good for vocal performances at clubs (I know several singers who bring their own to performances rather than using the club's equipment).

This is the upgraded version of the sm57; more dynamics, more detail. Generally, the sm57 are used to capture acoustic or electric guitar and drums. I found out that the Beta 57A does an excellent job on my voice, and just had to buy one for my self. Great value for the money.

I bought this mic yesterday from a local music shop after comparing it to the sm57, sm58, and a cheap audio tech. mic. The Shure beta 57a had the fullness of the sm57 and 58 but also added a little more detail in the high end that I was looking for. Another good all purpose mic for me.

I've used SM-58's (and occasionally SM-57's) for vocals since the 70's and really appreciate the eq curve Shure built into both. So all I was looking for was a bit hotter version. The Beta 57 fits the bill perfectly and for a few bucks less than the Beta 58.

Excellent microphone for snare drum. I found it sounded superior to my trusty SM57. Worth the money.

Great little dynamic mic. Build quality is top notch, sound is present without being overly harsh. Doesn’t sound like an SM57, but I don’t think it’s intended to be one.

I've used everything from Sennheiser to Neumann.. For the money this can't be beat. I really like the new windscreen design too but the magnet is not strong enough to keep in securely in place.

Great for live female vocals! The supercardioid polar pattern is great for no feedback! Amazing upper presence for the perfect cut in the mix without sounding harsh!

I was looking for a microphone with a bit more low end and a bit more high end then the Beta 58A. The Beta 57 did it. Both are great microphones.

We have an announcer on our show who is a Metal singer and because he lacks a certain amount of finesse when doing voice over no broadcast mic seemed to do the trick. This one did.

I own and use beta 57's 58,s and 87's. They all have their purpose and this new beta 57 works as it should . very versatile ....like a swiss army knife of mics.

Yea instruments , vocals. Compares well to Sennheiser 609 for instruments and works better for vocal. I have not had any feedback issues.

The Shure SM 57 has been a workhorse go to instrumental mic for many years. The Beta 57A makes incremental improvements while retaining the things that made the 57 so great.
