The folks at Shaker really hit one outta the park with this mic. I've been waiting for a mic like this for years. Getting a tight cup with the bullet mics is difficult for someone with smaller hands but this mic fits into your palm so well, it's like playing with no mic at all. All the 'wah wah' affects that can't be done holding other mics are now available to the amped player using this mic. It's so incredibly small yet the sound and pickup is amazing. I'm playing thru a fender hot rod deluxe and this mic has made it easy to concentrate solely on my playing and not on holding the mic and forming a tight cup. I'm very pleased with this mic. It weighs nothing. A pure pleasure to play with. ... More

After trying several other popular brands of harp mics, the Shaker Madcat solved my problem of not getting enough "cup" with my small hands to get the wah-wah and bending effects I heard other blues harp players get. Held between my middle and ring fingers of the left hand, it is comfortable and secure, and, for me, a dream come true. The Madcat sounds great through my little AC/DC highly portable Pignose amp.

I came across this harmonica mic and decided to give it a try. It has turned out to be a very good investment. It has a natural fit and feel and is comfortable to hold and easily fits between your fingers and stays in place as you play. It's sound recovery is very good and does not produce reverb unless you get it right in front of the amp. I tend to hold my harmonicas a little differently than most other players and wish the mic was able to swivel 180 degrees so the volume knob and cable could be reversed, but it still is a quality product that exceeded my expectations. It stores easily in my case. ... More

This is one of the best sounding and certainly the most comfortable and intuative mics I've ever used for playing harmonica. I've had it for years. It's very durable, easy to store (fits nicely in my Mississippi Sax box), and sounds great lve.

It doesn't sound quite as good as a bullet mic but a mic should not enhance certain frequencies, it should be neutral at all frequencies. If you want to add different tones that's what the amp is for. But you can create so many sounds with this mic by using your hands, which is difficult to non existent with a bullet mic, and it's so much smaller and lighter than a bullet mic. it's a little low in gain but you have a gain control on the amp, so... I own a Shure bullet that I will probably never use again since I bought the MadCat. ... More

This is an amazing Mic for Harmonica. Light weight, very easy and comfortable to hold between middle finger and ring finger, which allows a perfect cup of both hands around Harmonica and it helps immensely to add hand flickering to add a vibration effect to the music. A suggestion... instead of female Mono Adapter, they should give a stereo 1/4" female adapter which will help connecting XLR Mic Cable.
