I like this mic except for unwanted noise created when fingers are shifted against the body of the mic. It's as if the pickup is not isolated from the body. I have a tech support request pending now.

I own 3 of these mics. In my opinion they are the best cardioid hand mics available. Excellent for talent use in extremely loud ambient noise surroundings like sports arenas and stadiums. Sennheiser designed these mics for NBC to use at the Olympics. The only downside is that the paint on the handle is very susceptible to handling paint scratches and does not wear well thus hurting its on air appearance. I have covered the entire handle with black shrink wrap to prevent superficial scratches.

It's absurd how big the logo is. The logo should be out of the way. I paid to buy a working mic - I didn't pay money to be their product placement puppet too.

This is the mic of choice for many public radio reporters because of its durability and fidelity. I use it with a Marantz 661, and it's great for recording in the field or indoors in a makeshift studio. As I'm not reporting anymore, I use it mainly to record oral histories in my family. It's very durable fairly heavy, and the sound quality is great for voices. Because of the mic's cardioid pattern, it's not so great for recording specific, faraway sounds such as bird calls. I tried and didn't get anything worth keeping.

I use this mic for noisy gyms and stadiums. I have no problems getting clear audio. It has a long handle so my mic flag fit and can hold it comfortably. It comes with a nice hard plastic case to store the mic in. It has a nice weight to it for holding for a long period of time. My only complaint is that it scratches easily.

I am a videographer, and purchased this microphone to capture audio for interviews at weddings. When using it, I noticed its very directional sound, as the audio came out clearly even though the DJ next door had very loud music. I have also, due to it's slim size, hidden it in a scene, and used it to capture audio for a short film. I would definitely recommend this product

Perfect for use with the Evolution G3 100 Series Wireless Microphone Combo System. The wireless adapter is a bit tricky to put on and get off the mic. Once you get used to it there is no problem. I've used the mic for on camera interviews with the subjects holding the mic just out of shot at wait level- it sounds perfect. I've also simply laid the mic down out of sight to record ambient sound- perfect for that too, even picked up conversations well.

I've been using this microphone, either connected to a Sound Devices 702 or MixPre (to camera) for recording interviews outside the studio. Sounds very good and has good rejection of ambiance. Handling noise is something you need to be careful about, but I think that applies to any microphone. I do wish is wasn't so heavy sometimes because it makes it harder to hold out for long periods.

Used in loud crowds to gather interviews. Did a great job of isolating just the interviewer or interviewee. Loud music or noisy crowds were not much of an issue using this microphone. Solid build.

This mic produces fantastic audio and rejects ambient noise very well. Comes in a nice foam-lined, hard case for safekeeping. And inside that case is even a removable foam cut out--for a spare head, I guess? We use it as a place to store our windscreen... which brings me to my only complaint: why not include a foam windscreen for a mic this nice?

Great sound quality, minimal handling noise. My only complaint is the giant logo on the side. For a hand held mic that's going to be on camera the logo is just too big and in the worst spot. Comes with a nice plastic foam lined case.

This is my second MD 46 mic...bought my first one six years ago and took it all over the world before it finally started developing some loose connections that cause noise when moving the mic during interviews. I wouldn't have picked anything else to replace it! My original wore like iron and was so sturdy that one could drive nails with it. Best interview mic around.

Performed as promised. I was looking for a mike to connect with my Sennheiser wireless G4 with quiet handle, to capture interviews in crowded noisy arenas. This mike did the job.

I tested this on cliffs over the ocean. The waves were very loud, but this mic did a nice job of focusing on the voice instead. For what it's worth I was using the Tascam recorder that you can plug directly into the bottom of this mic. Nice portable solution for some projects.

I use this for professional use. It's a much nicer sounding mic than the RE50 and works great in very loud crowded situations.
