Sennheiser is a leader in the production of headphones. I have the 280 & 360 Pro studio headphones by Sennheiser. The 280 & 360 sound very close to the much more expensive HD 650. The 650s sound fantastic when connected to higher amplified sources like high end preamps and inner faces. I would recommend a headphone preamp when using it with phones. All in all a great product but some of Sennheiser's lower priced headphones are very close. You have to make the choice if it's worth $200.00 plus to move up to the 650's.

My HD600s finally bit the dust after 20 years of constant use. I loved them so much that all I wanted was a direct replacement. The HD650s are pretty much the same (as in PERFECT). The fit is super comfortable and the sound processing is non-intrusive and spacious. It may not have enough bass response for some tastes in modern music, but orchestral stuff really shines. I'm hoping for another 20 years of pleasure from these.

I use these headphones for listening to music primarily via computer or iPhone. With or without an external DAC, they sound great. Also listen to records through a very good phono stage and headphone input on a Yamaha amp. Very balanced sound - not bass heavy. I will try using them to record vocals at some point as well.

These are the best headphones on the market for under 1k. only thing is that they are open, but that is what makes their sound quality superb.

These headphones arrived quickly and safely with multiple progress updates throughout the shipping & delivery. For their inaugural test, I decided to put on a playlist of my favourite songs. These headphones provided outstanding detail and made the songs sound refreshingly new! I'm very very happy with my purchase!

The sound is amazing and the comfort is superb. I was not expecting that they were designed to allow the listener to hear through the earphones to what is going on around them. This is perfect for me and means I can wear them for extended periods of time and not constantly be pulling on them to hear what others are saying while I am mastering my audio files.

The headphones are just fine, but I paid for a new product and received an opened box from B&H.

These are great, accurate, and balanced. Not too much highs, lows, etc. I'd recommend them for mixing or just for listening. I also have a pair of Massdrop Sennheiser 6XX's, which are supposed to be copies of these, and the actual 650's are more sturdy & tough, but sound the same to my ears.

Nothing to add. Perfect refinement, you don't LISTEN to music, you SEE it. With dSonic Realphones or Waves Abbey Road 3 it beats every budget studio monitors. Really, you don't need any KRK, Adams and so on in your studio, as well as dedicated acoustic preparation of the room. Absolutely love it!

I purchased the HD650 as an upgrade from the HD558s and was immediately blown away by the enhanced clarity and detail of my music. I am running these headphones off of my Gen 1 Schiit stack and they sound wonderful, I wish I had purchased these years ago!
