I recently purchased Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. They have crystal clear sound fidelity and they provide an incredible listening experience. I can hear subtle nuances in songs that i have never noticed before. I am using them to do some audio restoration work of old recordings and they are perfect for the task. In addition to their incredible sound, they are comfortable to wear and reasonably light. They are just a bit bulky, but not unreasonably so, given the superb sound quality. They are a bit pricey, but if you really value pristine sound quality they are worth it. I am very pleased and highly recommend. ... More

This is my third headphone. My first one is Bose QC15, the second one is BeyerDynamics 990 Pro. Among the three I found HD650 to be the most balanced one and least fatigue after hours of listening. The resolution is pretty good and not analytical at all. It does need long time burn-in in order to get good sound. It was muddy when I played it in the first 20 hours. After 200 hours, it is getting better.

I work with videos, editing, so i kinda need a nice headphone, and i decided to buy that one, and i have to say, no regrets at all! You can listen all details, noise, no ambient noise, the quality sound is amazing! I also like to play games very much, i had many headsets, i can say this is the best by far! I am not any especialist, but i can say, for what i work, this phone satisfy all my needs. It is confortable, fit your head accurate, nice design and fine size. The only bad thing about it, is that phone is open, so you need to buy a protector, and about the velvet, i have a good guess that can last a few years (if you can change, even better!). And be careful if you are with people around you, the sound can go very high, that might can bother someone. ... More

I am a long-term audio engineer. I like lows & highs better than mid, but overall I like accuracy most. Though pricey, these headphones meet or exceed (read: exceed) my expectations, and they are comfortable. (They arrive with a great storage box, too.) Save up for them. Youll be glad you did! I listen to these headphones on a MacBook Pro and was able to hear from them out of the headphone jack. However, since the HD 650s are 300 ohm, not a full range of music was being heard, in my opinion. I bought an Apogee Groove to amplify the signal coming from the USB port. Now everything sounds great.

I bought these for myself after much research and reading countless reviews, here and other sources. I love these HP's they are big and the sound matches.... I can't wait for what I have read to be a break in period to pass... They sound great with an HP amp attached to my iPod! Worth the $$$ - no disappointments here...

As an owner of the HE-1000 and LCD-3, I have a high bar set for quality sound. Right out of the box, the HD 650 blew me away with its clarity. My new reference, and has guaranteed my purchase of the HD 800 (s edition) as soon as its release. Hard to believe that Sennheiser has a headphone above the HD 650 as its TOTL!

These headphones are amazing I don't think you could find anything better at least not for the price. If you listen to Godsmack Voodoo you can hear two people walking past the console and out the door. You cannot hear this through my elaborate home stereo system or my Pro PA system but with these headphones you can. Super comfortable very amazing sound I'm extremely impressed. I've had eight World hit songs and I had to sit in the studio sometimes up to 14 hours a day. These are the headphones of my choice after trying everything else out you can't go wrong. ... More

In these days of isolation, a household may experience conflicts with respect to musical taste. These Sennheiser headphones offer an elegant solution. Wonderful comfort, exceptional, smooth as silk sound on everything from Son House (puts my spouse a bit on edge) to Yes's "Fragile" (spouse does not like prog) ro Robert Ashley (don't even get me started). Both a general pleasure and a quarantine lifesaver!

There's a reason why these cans consistently rate among the top choices for reference headphones. They sound absolutely glorious, and are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Keep the volume low and ear fatigue in your mixes is a thing of the past. I'm a fan of Grado's as well, but they can get very uncomfortable before long. I find myself using the 650's more and more and the Grado's less and less.

I upgraded from the HD 600s to the HD 650s for critical listening and mixing music. The 600s were great but didn't reproduce some of the low middle frequencies I needed to hear. The 650s are more accurate in the low bass and low middle ranges and just as accurate in the middle and higher frequencies.

Exceptional balanced sound with a very slight emphasis in the lower end. Beautiful three dimensional sound immerses your senses as if you're in the studio with the artists. I've listened to many headphones. Right now, at the $315 price mark, there is no comparison to any other headphone. This was a $500-$600 priced headphone for much of the last decade. There's a reason the 650 is still available on the market. Blissful sound.

I had been cautious about using open-backed headphones for voiceover recording, but with these HD-650 I have not experienced feedback while using them, even though I usually stay a bit off-axis to the mic. Being open, they are cleaner than my previous phones, especially in the lower end. I find them much more accurate than other phones that I have been accustomed to. I really love them.

These are wonderful, all-around headphones. They've often been criticized for being too smooth and warm. While I think that's fair, those qualities also make them easy to listen to for extended periods of time and with a wider range of music. I've found some of the more detailed headphones to be a little hard to take over time. While these headphones aren't for everyone, they're a solid, musical choice. They won't wow you out of the box, but will reward you with great sound over time.

The Sennheiser HD 650 headphone is a superior product. In a simplistic review here, everything sounds great, and they feel so good on your head. My only complaint is that it's hard to see the small L or R on the phones in a dimly lit environment. If you're thinking about it, and you have the money, go ahead and be kind to yourself. Buy it.

When these arrived I was like they don't feel very premium, to be honest they felt kinda cheap. But holy smokes I was blown away by the sound! I paired them with my Schiit stack and the amount of detail is incredible and if I closed my eyes I could hear all these new sounds in songs I've listened to hundreds of times before. Everything is just so tight and controlled and it's a really enjoyable listening experience, it's not fatiguing like some of the other cans I have. Highly recommend to people that are putting a system together and want a well rounded set of headphones. ... More

I bought these instead of spending 10K setting up my own studio with good monitors and can't believe the detail I can now hear. I picked these for video / audio production because of their neutral nature and I am amazed.

Fantastic, well balanced sound. However, they fit very tight on my head, and I'm a pin head! Stretching them over a stack of CDs helped, but the Beyerdyamics are much more comfortable.
