Best vocal mic I've ever used. I've performed with it solo, in an acoustic duo (current situation) and in a full band. The e935 comes through in all situations. I also have a Neumann KMS135 condenser mic that I got based on reputation. The Sennheiser e395 sounds better in side-by-side comparisons. My current music partner has the standard Shure SM58. Whether we're using my PA (a Bose L1 Mod II) or his, we always have to turn the Shure up higher for ""equal"" levels and the Sennheiser still sounds crisper/clearer without as much background noise. This is the mic for anyone who wants to exploit the full potential of their voice on stage. ... More

Upgraded from a Shure SM-58. Like night and day! Even had a guest singer use it last night and without me even saying anything she told when she was amazed at how good this mic sounded......Not slamming Shure......really good mics....but this is so much better!! Don't hesitate if your looking to upgrade!

Sennheiser is known for high quality and solid build and the e935 is the perfect example of their impeccable attention to that standard! I've toured around and around the world with Sennheiser mics in tow and they have never failed me! The e935 mic helped me get my message out to the masses loud and clear. Also in those live applications that were less than perfect, for example standing right in front of the drummer with cymbals blaring, I was able to consistently hear my vocal and still perform without the distractions because of the fantastic cardioid designs of these capsules. Love Sennheiser and these mics! ... More

I needed a new mic to update my trusty but ancient 20 year old Audix. The choice was between a Shure SM58 and a Sennheiser. Considered an E835; decided to go bigger with the E935. I've used Shure 58s for vocals and liked them a lot (they've got a stellar reputation for a reason), but the numerous positive reviews of the e935 for all vocal types and music styles convinced me to purchase it. I'm happy I did. It adds more sound colors to my alto voice. (P.S. The audience notices too!) Thanks B&H for a great price and fast ship. ... More

This mic is very crisp and clean. You might need warm it up a little, it's that crisp. Very good pro microphone.

Clear vocal input, I now use it as my every-gig mic instead of the an SM58. It's more directional than I'm used to with the SM58, but that's a great thing when it comes to any monitor/speaker feedback prevention.

Great clean microphone that cuts through the mix really well. Picks up any range of voice. I am a bass that also has to sing in my upper register often as a worship leader. I would use this mic on any vocal. I recommend it to anyone!

As one of the many looking for an advance from the staid Shure 57/58 formula, I got this mic for a female singer in our band. I discovered that this mic worked equally well for me. Superlatives abound when describing this experience. As cliche as it may sound, it really was a bit like "lifting a veil" off of the vocals. Not knocking Shure. This just does the job more accurately to my ears. So far I haven't had any real feedback issues either.

I thought someone had lifted the Sennheiser 835 I'd had for many years so I upgraded to the 935. Nice high end and a smooth midrange. I was using my old SM58 until it came in. It's now a spare and won't be used again as my vocal mic. By the way, I found the 835 and used it last week on a guest vocalist. As good as that mic is, and it's still better than a 58, the 935 is much smoother and clearer.

I was looking for an alternative to my Shure SM58. It is a still an industry standard and I think a great way to start but I was at a point where I needed more. As my voice is very muddy having that low end that Shure naturally has was getting in the way to be heard in the mix. Enter Sennheiser E935. The clarity and the loudness is exactly what I was looking for. If you need something to get you to cut thru the mix don't hesitate. I don't have to sing so loudly anymore. Just great and solid product!

Such balanced response with wonderful clarity in the upper midrange. This capsule has excellent definition and off-axis rejection that helps it cut through guitar heavy mixes. Really performs well on loud stages. Rock singers should really give this a good look when they are ready to ditch the "industry standard" 58. In this price range, hard to beat the build quality and definition in higher registers for male and female singers.

We really enjoy the clarity from this mic, for both performing and home recording. The price was within our price range, with WONDERFUL SOUND! It is usually used hand-held, and not too heavy. It has a nice design, not clunky. We also would like to comment about the great service of the GUITAR CENTER employees at Arlington Heights,Il. Thanks, guys! Jan and Gino Soundz Of Time

This is a cardioid microphone, which means it will get a little more background sound than a super-cardioid, but it avoids the problem of feedback from the bottom of the mic (that super-cardioids have) (and subsequent attention to not have the bottom point at speakers - ie: easy to avoid feedback issues). Excellent subject isolation, with good proximity effect, and little handling noise. Overall, excellent, and easy to use - great for live performances, guest speakers, etc.

I use the e935 for live performance in a working rock band. This is the third one I've purchased because I set them up in my rehearsal space for the other band members to use when we're rehearsing. I also have an e835 with an on/off switch that our drummer uses. I wish the e935 came with the on/off switch. If it did, I'd put that in front of the drummer instead of the e835. The e935 is crystal clear and super responsive. I love this thing.

Bought this as a gift for my drummer. I use a (discontinued) 838 and gtr player has an 835 w/ switch. I run PA and check all mics for our band. The 835 is lower output and muffled compared to my mic. Output of 935 is similar if not greater than my 838, not as much bass but even better clarity. It picks up more drums (ambient sound) than I had hoped but overall Very honest, a fantastic mic for singers! If you find a deal probably worth stepping up to the 9 series over an 835/45.

I've been using my venerable SM58s forever. I love them. But no more. The Sennheiser e935 brings out the vocals in my group amazingly well. The presence of these mics combined with superior feedback rejection makes balancing our vocalists (5 of them) a snap. We're a 7 piece blues/rock group. Try the e935. You'll love them.

I own several hand-held dynamic vocal mics including SM58, and I like this one the best. It has the highest output, low noise, low handling noise. Good balance sound. It's a significant improvement over the e835 in sensitivity/output. There might be better dynamic vocal mics out there but they probably cost more.
