I use this mike for lead vocals. (use the e835 for background vocals). It is a good, solid ALLWAYS reliable microphone. Never had any problems with it. The only thing I don't like is that sometimes it is a little strong around 250Hz. I have to EQ-it out. :-/ But overall, it has a great sound. I would love to have more.

This is my favorite mic for live vocals. I've used SM58's, AT's, and a couple of other mics and this is by far my favorite. You don't have to be super close or super loud for it to pick up like a SM58. It's just right. Very Durable. Senheiser makes some great stuff. I highly recommend this microphone!

This mic has a very tempered tonal range that is human, warm and clear. It has been dropped onto hard surfaces more than once without incident. The sensitivity is not such that one must place lips on the screen to be heard. Its pattern is adjusted to do very well for instrumentalists who move around while singing. A highly recommended product.

this mic is just awesome, i've used the sm58 for about 13 years, and after trying the Sennheiser E845S i will not be going back to the sm58, also i bought this mic about 2 weeks ago on ebay and when i got it in the mail, i checked it out and found out it was a FAKE! so i was really happy to open this one up from guitar center and it was the REAL DEAL this site sells the real original, not the fake, which alot of sites do, i reccomend only buying this mic from here, cuz your taking a big chance on ebay or anywhere other then a dealer for the sennheiser product, this place is lagit, so get it, nice warm sound and no feedback if you eq it right, this mic is perfect for me, and others who sing with a really high pitch and sings kinda quiet, this mic will bring your vocals out in a pro kinda way, thanks! ... I have about a 4 octive range and this mic has very little coloration across it. I especially like the super cardioid aspect. Excellent off axis signal rejection on a noisy stage with a lot of monitors. Did not notice much proximity effect either. The only con, if you consider it one is it's rather sensitive. You have to watch your P's. Get off the mic about 3 inches. Got a great deal from GC. Pay attention to your email for GC coupons and specials. I got 1/3 off retail. Only have used it on our bands home stage. 6 singers, drums and amps all have mics. There is sound all over the place yet this mic is the loudest before feedback with best off axis rejection. I don't care what Bono says, I' never going back to my old sm57. For my vocal anyway. ... More

To my ears, it has a nice, warm sound to it but tends to be a little bass heavy. Not ideal for male vocals. Excellent for female vocals. The bass and general warmth of the mic is a great complement to treble heavy voices. The first mic I got was a dud and stopped working after a couple of months. Returned to Senheiser and they sent me a brand new mic. Haven't had any problems since. Feedback is an issue if the mic gets to close to speakers or monitors. In my view, nothing handles feedback better then an SM58....Still the E845 is a great mic. If you nail the EQ, match it to the right voice type, keep it away from monitors/speakers, E845 offers a superior sound to the SM58. ... More

Heavy and dependable. This mic gives tons of clarity over a loud sound spectrum. Full range, and the switch is clutch.

I've had 4 or 5 mics in my whole lifetime and every single top of the wire mesh thingy came off. Not this Mic. This is by far better than the e835 or any of the ssennheiser mics because the e845s has a switch usually the switch is what breaks the mic. So i say this is the perfect mic to go with if your looking for something with a good look and something that you could practically do anything with than go with this mic!!!
